'Hehehehe... Thick Peach... Hehehehe...' Eren concealed an amused and perverted grin as he and the rest of his family walked through Thick Peach Town. Because Erwin had certain doubts and fears, they decided to put the spirit apples up for auction.
They didn't want anyone knowing their identity in case they'd try and harm them.
Erwin was severely paranoid. He was afraid someone would kidnap one of them and ransom the rest of the family.
Who knows what could happen?
This is why selling expensive things is dangerous, no matter who you are.
Various people will envy you and try to milk you for more valuables!
Erwin shuddered at the thought.
'I wonder where second sister is? Perhaps she's not in Thick Peach Town after all?' Eren thought to himself as he looked around. He saw various things happening all at once.
For instance, he saw a man who looked to be a noble or someone above commoners yelling at a small girl who looked to be no older than Eren.
Eren's mood instantly dropped when he saw this happen and tried to resist the urge to attack the man. He couldn't handle witnessing such a thing and instead looked away.
He recalled the scars on the little girl's body all the way until they reached the auction site. Before the family reached the auction site, Erwin used his very last bit of money to buy some cloaks to hide their identities.
He was really paranoid about this after all.
Eren found it a little amusing, but he understood his father's paranoia...
"If you're here to auction an item, then go that way, if you're here to attend the auction which starts in half an hour, then please come this way." A man with short brown hair and dark brown eyes lazily said.
He gestured with his hands and waved his arms slowly as if he had just woken up.
Eren's family went 'that way', and entered a large room. The floor was waxed hardwood, something Eren didn't think he'd see in such a world. The walls were sour-milk-white looking.
It made Eren question just who exactly was in charge of keeping up appearances in such a place. This place would make anyone confused.
Was the owner of this auction wealthy or not?
The floor was waxed hardwood, but the walls were basically half-a**ed!
Besides such a triggering topic, Eren observed the rest of the room and was in awe at all the items. Some of them looked near-worthless, holding little to no value at all, but others looked grand and priceless!
He saw a dark brown vase with magma-colored circular engravings on it. Every time he looked at it, he saw the engravings move slowly like magma from a volcano. It'd pulse brightly every now and then while emitting an amazing aura!
At another spot in the room, he saw a small dagger with a pitch-black leather handle and a blade made of some type of dark steel. It gave off a cold, frigid, and sharp aura despite it being contained in a glass box.
Eren was excited when he looked at all of the items. It turned out his family wasn't the only one auctioning expensive items!
"Father, what auction are we at exactly? I've noticed that some of these items give off amazing auras and seem priceless!" Lydia whispered to her father. Everyone noticed the grand items in the room apparently.
Erwin looked around with an excited expression before quickly responding.
"We're at the Cloudy Blue Auction! It's owner was an old friend of my father, unfortunately, my father passed away. The owner passed away as well, leaving the auction to his only son. Don't underestimate this auction either, as many Gold-Grade items have been auctioned here throughout history! They may not be common, but they're not too rare, they appear every once in a while."
Erwin gave a slightly lengthy response, making Eren marvel at the thought of this auction possibly auctioning Gold-Grade items besides his spirit apples! After checking the Spirit Apple Tree again, he figured out that the azure apples were in fact Silver-Grade!
The golden apples were the real Gold-Grade apples, and the benefits would gradually wane after each consumption.
Eren was a little depressed about that, but it made sense. What kind of magical tree would constantly give out such benefits no matter how many apples one ate? It was simply unfair!
Finally, it was Eren's turn to auction his apples so he handed the basket off to Erwin, who went forward. He walked up to the man at the counter, checking every auctioneer in.
"What's your name?" (Counter man)
"C-Can I auction these items anonymously?" (Erwin)
"You can, but the fee will be even higher." (Counter man)
"A-Arwun, my name is Arwun Bethrnodolt." (Erwin)
"Okay... What items are you auctioning?" (Counter man)
"Gold-Grade Spirit Apples." (Erwin)
"Okay... Gold-Grade Spirit App... W-Wait repeat that again?" (Counter man)
"Gold-Grade Spirit Apples. Is there a problem?" (Erwin)
"N-No sir. In fact, since the items you're auctioning are over Gold-Grade, we can let you auction them anonymously without a higher fee. W-Would you like that, sir?" (Counter man)
"Yes." (Erwin)
The counter man quickly registered Erwin on the auction under the name of 'Arwun Bethrnodolt'. Erwin walked back towards his family with a proud expression on his face as if he had just conquered another land!
Moriya, Lydia, Eren, Frederick, and Cameron all looked at him with smug expressions on their faces. They tried to hold back their laughter when they recalled Erwin's timid behavior when the counter man asked for his name.
Erwin watched as the counter man handed the basket of spirit apples off to another man who then placed it on a small pedestal. He then placed a glass box over the basket.
Eren was excited when he saw this. He quickly connected the dots and a thought came to his head.
'There's definitely at least 3 Gold-Grade items in this auction! Now I'm really excited, I can't wait!'
The family then exited the spot of the auction and made their way over to the side where everyone else was. They chose seats in the front and waited for the auction to start.
