Regius spent the next couple of days moping due to the fact that he had used his only space strand and it may be a while before he was able to create another but he didn't stop using Mass creation to create batteries on a grand scale. He finally looked down at his phone and realized it had been close to two days. He better make his way to the auditorium or he would miss the entrance ceremony for this year's freshman class. Regius walked to the door and it opened on its own to reveal the actual auditorium still empty but he walked through anyway and as he did the door shut behind him and vanished into thin air.
Regius had no way back and would have to ask Merlin exactly where he had been. Regius sat there and dug through his pockets before dialing Macarthur's number. The phone hardly got a chance to ring once and the old man picked it up.
"Hello? Regius? boy, you wait 2 entire days to call me! Why did I get you a phone?" Regius sat there as Macarthur took the next five minutes to explain to him the purpose of a cell phone and how it could be used to communicate and let people know that he was okay. Regius had let the old man go on before there was a silence and snicker on the other side of the line and his tone changed "Hey brat Devlin told me what you asked of him…." The statement hung in the air for about a minute before he spoke again. "Why would you ask that he try to protect me instead of you in case anything happened. I'm supposed to be the umbrella, why put yourself in a more dangerous situation. It's bad enough that fool was actually going to listen but I protect you and you don't have to protect me. I'm plenty strong enough."
Regius waited a moment and finally spoke into the phone "It's because I can't lose you too Old man. You've raised me and Peter as long as our families did. You're family too. I couldn't just let you die trying to protect me. What would I say to Peter? Sorry, I maybe forgot to control myself as we talked about and the first second we met the ten I triggered a massive fight that caused our only parental figure left to sacrifice himself for me. There was no way in hell that was the call I wanted to make. You can't just be sacrificed while blocking for me on my path to vengeance."
Regius could hear the old man sputter on the other side of the line before he eventually just gave up and changed the topic. "Did Merlin tell you everything about your mother?" Regius nodded his head to no one in particular since he sat alone in the empty auditorium.
"Yea he did but I still can't remember her fully. I will have to see someone trained enough to help me recover those memories, my only hint right now is the Queen of Atlantis apparently she should be able to help me out." Macarthur's breathing could be heard and then finally he spoke again.
"Regius, do what you have to but be careful. The Queen of Atlantis is a cunning woman who will no matter what always put her people first. She is also a Seer with a level of strength that surpasses even Elizabeth's abilities due to the fact that since she awakened to it the Woman has never once let her ability rest. She tries as much as she can at all times to manipulate situations and scenarios to her favor so don't go and become a pawn in her games."
"Understood old man, anything else? Are you still with Devlin and them?" No, but I gave Devlin some things to give to you so retrieve them when you can. I've been called to investigate a problem that's come up in Russia. Apparently, there is an outbreak of beasts that they are having problems with so the union has asked me to go offer my expertise. I knew you would be safe with Merlin."
Regius felt a little downcast that Macarthur would not be there for the ceremony but he had other things to attend to and Regius would understand. He could hear the sounds of people approaching the auditorium and Devlin's booming voice directing the students to their seats.
His attendants strode in first and flicked on the lights and began to set up a podium and a few other minor things as people began to file In and the hooded Regius sat there unnoticed with his hood up and slouched in the chair.
Macarthur could hear the commotion through the phone and knew it was time to hang up. "Regius try to make friends, live your life for more than just that, maybe even get some enjoyment out of school but either way if you need anything I'm a call away."
Regius grinned the old man really wasn't good at saying goodbye so he helped out "Yea, yea, see you when I see you old man stay out of trouble until I see you again" MacArthur's smile could be heard through the phone as he answered "Yea you too." and the line went dead.
Students filed in and soon all of the seats were full with no one even noticing that Regius had already been sitting there. Devlin stood on stage with his voice empowered by mana spreading to the whole auditorium. "Today will mark the first day of the next four years of your life. It is my and the faculty's sincere hope that by the end of the next four years you are all capable members of the Adventure Union. Now for the first year, your schedule is decided for you so everyone can report to the front to receive their uniforms and the keys to their dorm rooms. I suggest you all get some sleep tonight because class for you all starts at nine am tomorrow. There will be a pamphlet with your uniform to explain some basic things to you and where to report tomorrow morning."
