Chapter 1 - Prologue

Dying is an interesting feeling.

You feel, empty, cold, insignificant.

My vision blurred as I saw the face of the figure holding the dagger in my chest.

Is that...?

I was a teenager, only 19, but I was a King. My enemies feared me while my allies highly respected me. I was the most powerful warrior on my side of the world, and yet I had died by being stabbed in my sleep?

The muffled yells of the guards as they walked in overtook my thoughts, and then everything went black.

I had no thoughts, no mind. I was just simply existing.

Suddenly, I felt a pain, and my mind was back again. There was a bright, blinding light forcing my eyes open.

The pain happened again, in my backside. When I turned my neck to look at the source, it was a pale-looking and annoyingly happy woman with gloves on.

As I inspected the room I was in, it was outdated to say the least, made of wooden walls and floors with no technology in sight. I noticed a woman laying on a bed.

She was drowsy, out of it. So out of it in fact that I could barely see her black irises surrounding her pupils with the way her pupils had dilated. The woman was beautiful, with her deep caramel complexion and long locs going down to her shoulders.

Upon further inspection of the room, I noticed it had a singular oak table with instruments on it, with one of them having an umbilical cord attached to it.

"What the hell..." I wondered to myself, connecting the dots in my head. Am I a baby?

My realization of this, along with the sharp stinging pain plaguing my ass, made me do something I hadn't done since I was born the first time around.

I cried, loudly, incessantly, primally, announcing to whoever was holding me and to the rest of the building that I was awake.

A tall man, looking easily over 6 feet tall burst through the wooden door.

He was dark, way darker than the woman, who by now I assumed was my mother.

He was wearing some kind of short sleeved black robe that had an emblem of a roaring dragon on it.

He had scars all over his arms and ankles, and his body in general was very well built.

This man had seen battle.

He was sporting a short fro and a goatee that complimented his brown eyes well.

"Is that my son?", he said with a gentle smile while staring at me.

He slowly walked towards me, which made me uncomfortable even though by now I knew he was my father.

He held me up by my waist, which I didn't appreciate so I began to swing my legs and kick.

With a hearty laugh he said, "Oh! We have a strong one now don't we!"

Once he got his laugh out, his face calmed down.

"I'm sorry, I know you wanted to name him, Corina, but I simply can't wait"

His deep brown, almost black eyes locked onto mine.

"Welcome to the world, Yuuki".
