Chapter 27 - Chapter 24: Pond

"What are you saying? Lily works for Techtra?" The grim expression on Scarlets face told me a lot but not where she was heading, "Hey, where are you going? Scarlet! Great Now the baby is having her temper tantrum. DON'T BLOW ANYTHING UP WHILST YOU'RE OUT PRINCES!" Arthur chased after her like a bull chasing a red cape "you lot stay, I'm going to go after them. Six, wanna come." After a quick response Six was by my side leaving Nine and Four with some of the guards. "One last thing before we go, Four you're in charge while we're out, try not to burn the place down." Four gave his usual devilish smile. Just as we closed the door however we heard Nine sprinting towards the door screaming "STOP! YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME WITH HIM." However he wasn't fast enough

*THUD*

Dreadful silence filled the structure, it felt abnormally alien after the time spent with these knuckleheads. Six looked as if a burden had just been lifted, he even had a spring in his step. When we finally caught up to Scarlet and Arthur we had arrived at an old car but the model was unfamiliar but it was similar to the Ford brand on Earth.

The engine was also like a ford, built to last no matter its age… But it was silent. "You do know the battery is dead: right?" Scarlet still looked pissed but she knew she couldn't get far without a working battery in the car. I saw Six walk up to the car and lift the car bonnet up and in a matter of seconds he put it back down and turned the ignition. The car jolted to life with a soft purring coming from the engine "IT'S ALIVE!" Six was acting as if he had just brought back Frankenstein's monster. "You're crazy. But sometimes it takes crazy to get things done."

Scarlet had already taken a liking to the old man in a heartbeat, it was as if they had known each other for years. The clouds were one of the few similarities I could see in this world. I would be lying if I said I was at peace with this reality: but it gave me something I had missed for a long time. I no longer could tell if this was a curse or a blessing: Was this me finally accepting reality or rejecting my rage?

Peace? The calm before the storm a word our species was nothing but a stranger to. This place it wasn't my home, all that I knew was nothing but the product from the fabrication of a world. A weapon for war, made obsolete in the eyes of man. Maybe if there was a God in this story of mine, this was their sick and twisted meaning of a joke.

Well if this is their sick way of making entertainment then what kind of person does that make them. Their not a God, they're the Devil.
