Chapter 16 - Oddly interesting.

"Are you following me?" Naina bellowed an amused smile.

Shyam looked at Naina dotingly for a while and walked over her. Naina swiftly turned and block his steps and sneered, "Why you didn't answer my question?"

Shyam paused briefly and said sternly, "Yes, I have been following you. Is that what you want to listen?"

Naina grinned and said flatly, "Ah! You're already in late stage of narcissistic".

Shyam heaved a long sigh, "Is that what you show gratitude to someone who helped you?"

"Help..! Who? Me!" Naina point at herself with an amused expression. "Its you who interfere in my affairs!" Naina retorted with a brow lifted and her arms crossed.

Instead of feeling offended or angry, he actually found her oddly interesting.

At that moment Naina's stomach suddenly rumbled loudly much to her embarrassment starvation. She bit down her lips lowering her head.

Shyam tore a thin smile looking at her expression. He then swiftly turned his head looking around. His lips curled up when he saw a restaurant nearby.

"If you are grateful to me, treat me a dinner!" Shyam chimed in and walked towards the restaurant.

"What? Grateful!!...What is he talking about?"

"Do you want to order lobster, Slm Naina?" Shyam sat himself down at a table and beckoned for the waiter.

"No! Just noodles....Wait! How do you know my name?" A hint of doubt flashed across the Naina's eyes as she nodded her head, "You did a background check on me!"

Shyam coughed lightly and turned to the waiter, "Two bowls of beef noodles please, with the best beef of course."

Five minutes later, the noodles were served. Naina blew hard to cool the food down and gobbled down her meak.

Shyam silently watched her enjoy her noodles quite happily. He had stopped eating a while ago as he watched her eat. This was more amusing than anything he has seen in his life.

Naina raised up her head for the first time since she attacked that plate of food. She was stunned when she saw Shyam's eyes intently focused on her.

"Aren't you going to eat your noodles? It won't taste too good when it cools down." Naina said. After a while, Naina added, "Are you the head of that small entrepreneur office?"

"No, I am not" Shyam cocked his head to the side.

Naina eyebrow twitched, putting her glass down as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Then What did you do?" She asked.

In next moment she answered herself "Ah...! Forget it. I am not interested" She waved her hand with distaste expression.

Shyam titled his head and look at her quizally. A vague smile grew on his lips.

At this moment, Naina and Shyam were sharing an umbrella and waiting for the green light at the zebra crossing.

"The umbrella isn't big… Staying closer can prevent the rain from drenching you." Shyam said as he took half a step toward her. The two of them were already very close to each other, and his sudden movement caused their arms to touch.

The atmosphere between them was thick and awkward, and a knife could probably cut through it.

The red light turned green, and the two of them slowly walked to the other side of the road. It only took a minute to get to the car. The two of them didn't speak.

"Get in!" Shyam said as he hops inside his car.

Naina hesitated for a few seconds before she opened the door and got in the car. Naina felt weird as she rode a car like this for the first time. The internal setting of the car was low profile yet luxurious.

Shyam sleeves of his black shirt were rolled up to his elbow and it revealed his muscular forearm. His palm pressed on the steering wheel as they went forward and took a turn. His action was rather smooth and natural…

As it was raining heavily, Shyam parked his Maybach right where her apartment building was, under her instruction.

"Thank you for dropping me" Naina sincerely said.

Shyam drove away from her apartment, he tightened his fingers without batting an eye, and the corner of his lips curled up into a faint smile.

"It feels like a date to him"
