Infiltrating the town was far more simple than they originally thought. The sentries were the only obstacle into the town.
"I don't like how easy this is." Aisrin hid in a nearby alley and peeked around down the deserted main road.
"I cant see this hundred Lycan army you spoke of." Aisrin mentioned.
"You're right. This is far too odd. If this isn't the Alphas full force, I can only assume that it's some sort of advance party. So maybe we are looking at around thirty Lycans?" Blackhawk began muttering.
"Hmm... minus the five you already killed... so roughly between twenty five and thirty Lycans?" Aisrin pondered along with Blackhawk.
"That would be an accurate estimation. But, I cant sense any of them in this part of town, only corpses. Perhaps further in we will find them and my booze." Blackhawk hesitated no longer and rushed down the main road.
"Alright sir bait. You gather attention that way, I'll go find the Alpha and end this quickly so I can rest." Aisrin nodded as he stuck to the shadows and alleyways, moving forward at a much slower pace.
Meanwhile, James and Gwen stayed just outside in case of enemy reinforcements.
"Those two are such blockheads." James seemed to be on the verge of tears.
"Gwen admires their bravery, but Gwen also thinks they are overestimating themselves." Gwen stated.
Aisrin found a house with an open window and climbed in.
(Skill Aquired. Sneak Lv 3.)
'I aquired a pre leveled up skill? Might as well use it.'
"S-sneak." Apparantly aquired skills required verbal command. It was to embarrassing to Aisrin. He had certainly gained more silence and blended a bit easier with the surroundings. He suck up the stairs, hoping the get out onto the roof from one of the windows.
As soon as he got to the closest room and began to open it, he heard a hushed whimper. He slowly eased the door open and went inside. He went towards a corner and waited. After a few moments, a figure tentatively stood and troublingly stepped towards the door. His adjusted eyesight proved his suspicion. It was a young human woman.
Downstairs he heard the main door bust open, and thudding steps rush up to the door, the woman frantically rushed away, but knew she was caught as she began screaming and crying. A Lycan burst in in its humanoid form. He was grinning ear to ear, his yellow eyes greedily focused on the woman.
It was perfect really. Aisrin easily drew his dagger and approached the Lycan as the Lycan approached the woman.
"Time to e-" The Lycan was about to speak, but suddenly he couldn't. He began to choke, and then finally realized his throat had been slit. He turned around and licked eyes with Aisrin. Aisrins cold... dead eyes filled the Lycans vision, and all he saw was a Demon before he finally kicked it.
"Quit crying and screaming! You'll only attract more! Go downstairs, exit out of the window and stick to the alleys and shadows. I have my friends waiting outside the entrance, they'll retrieve you and move you somewhere safe. Now go!" Aisrin directed the woman. She still quivered and shook, not believing him.
"My name is Aisrin. You can trust me... A-afterall I am the Hero." Ausrin stuttered as he embarrassingly stated what he was. The woman stopped quivering, and her eyes looked more hopeful. Still, she didn't speak, but she nodded and left.
(Secondary Path Aquired. Assasin Lv 1.)
'That's not a Heroic Path though!'
Aisrin rubbed between his eyes and proceeded to climb out of the upstairs window and onto the roof. From there he was able to jump from roof to roof safely while avoiding any prying eyes. While he was jumping, he made his goal, one of the cathedral spires.
He wanted a good look out from a high vantage point. The problem, was, it was smack dap in the middle of the town, and there were no houses close enough nor tall enough to make such a jump.
"Guesd I'll just apply a whole load of agility type magic to myself." Aisrin muttered quietly. He applied lightning clad, agility enhancement, stealth , for reasons, and finally plain lighting magic as soon as he reached the final house he tended all his leg muscles and jumped. The power was explosive. He shot off like a missile and left that house crumbling as he did so, probably attracting attention, but he served his purpose.
He reached a spire and released all except stealth and began his climb until ho was in a suitable place to see everything. He scanned the area, and sure enough about five Lycans approached the crumbling house. They stopped and began looking around. He stopped paying attention to them and scanned the area. He noticed several corpses littering the main road.
Blackhawk was a little ways up the road from him, shooting at Lycans, which drew the attention of the five he had attracted. Aisrin watched as Blackhawk was surrounded by about seven Lycans.
Blackhawk fended them off well, but once they got into close range, his mid to long range attacks became useless as a Lycan finally succeeded in a hit, taking his right arm.
"Awe man, that was my booze drinking arm. Hah, guess I'll switch to my left." Blackhawk sighed unfazed. His pistol transmuted into a short sword and he continued his attacks gleefully. It became a one sided massacre after that and Aisrin turned his attention toward the more lit up area in the north western section of town.
"Bingo. That's gotta be where the Alpha is." Aisrin stated as he dropped down below. He blasted wind magic to slow his decent once he reached about ten feet and walked up to Blackhawk. The seven Lycans had been utterly fucked up by that time.
"You know, I must ask why we ran from the first Lycan if you were this strong." Aisrin commented as he approached him.
"Takeover makes them two times harder to kill. I just dont like exerting that kind of energy." Blackhawk shrugged, blood steadily leaking from his torn off arm.
"I think you may have reached your limit for the day." Aisrin nodded towards the grievous wound.
"Don't worry about it. I don't feel any pain. Besides, I can handle just fine with one arm." Blackhawk replied. Aisrin Simmons sighed and bolted towards the area he suspected was where the Lycans main holdout was. Blackhawk followed close behind.
It took them less than five minutes to reach the area, and they stuck to the shadows. Observing the scene. There were countless people whimpering all around. Crying, shaking, and tied up. Aisrin counted at least fifty townspeople and about fourteen Lycans hungrily looking at them.
"I can see why they aren't allowed in the Demi-Human continent." Aisrin grimaced. A large pile of bloody remains were also easily visible, an obvious object of fear for the citizens. A large Lycan stood up and entered the middle of the gathering.
"Calm yourselves my people! Have I not promised you plenty of humanoid flesh to ease your cravings? I have delivered yes? So far, many human have entered this town, without knowing! And we have captured and eaten them all! But, this foolish woman dared to take this pleasure away from us! So now, I present to you pur final vengeance! The Fool Alpha which I disdainfully must call my predecessor!" The man spoke gallantly and drunkenly as he motioned upwards.
Aisrin looked up and saw a woman strung between two poles and up high. She was naked and covered in wounds.
"That's the woman I exchanged booze with." Blackhawk said gravely. The situation was bleak, and Aisrin was getting anxious. His urge to kill was overwhelming. The Lycan in the center was responsible for his grievance, and he was going to be paid in full.
