Chapter 11 - Howling Vengeance

Aisrin was almost unable to control himself, almost. Holding back his rage, he thought of a much better plan. This plan involved his secondary path. Aisrin switched his oath from Free to Choose, to Assassin.

"Sneak." Ausrin whispered. Blackhawk suddenly snapped to Aisrin with a surprised look on his face.

"What a powerful skill! Your presence has completely vanished!" Blackhawk commented, impressed.

"I'm going to take all of the Lycans on the very outside of the crowd. They seem intoxicated enough, so a few collapsing shouldn't raise any alarms." Aisrin stated as he drew his dagger and put his plan in motion.

"I see, ise their senses against them, or... their lack of I should say." Blackhawk chuckled weakly. He had gone pale from loss of blood.

"You're out of commission. Fall back and get that under control." Aisrin directed.

"Haha, as if I could move. I'm too weak to continue, I was planning on sitting this out anyway." Blackhawk collapsed against a wall. Aisrin sighed, but he had more important things to do. He slipped into the shadows around the Lycans, he slipped behind his first merry target and shoved his blade straight through his heart from behind, letting him fall in an inconspicuous way.

He did this two more times. From the enemy's perspective, it just looked like those three had too much to drink and passed out. They jeered for a moment at each one before turning their attention back to the Alpha. He raised his bottle and laughed as he drank more.

Aisrin waited another ten minutes before striking one more.

(Skill update. Silent Strike Lv 3.)

Aisrin pondered this for a moment, but decided not to bother for the moment. He waited for his next chance, but he couldn't see any positive outcome. He had run out of targets to assassinate without getting caught. There were ten Lycans left.

(Skill Acquired. Observe Lv 1.)

"Observe." Aisrin tested his new skill. Immediately the Alphas stats showed up in front of the Alpha.

'Level fifty three! Fuck! That's twice my level! Hes really fast though. His strength is... equal to mine... his senses... are far lower though!'

Aisrin enshrouded himself in shadows and kept even closer, but stopped when the Alpha raised his hand for silence.

"You cannot hide yourself... Demon! I can feel that darkness from here!" The Alpha shouted.

Aisrin undid his skills, surprising those he was behind.

"Hahaha! A mere pup sent to do the males job?" The Alpha began to laugh.

"Tch! So much for low sense." Aisrin muttered as he drew his shortsword.

"Hmm. Kill him. Hes a bother." The Alpha ordered his subordinates.

The Lycans happily dove at Aisrin, but Aisrin simply wove through the drunken Lycans, killing two and injuring three. When they were intoxicated, their abilities were decreased by a whopping 35%. The Alpha narrowed his eyes and snarled.

"Who are you pup?" He growled. His eyes began flaring with a bright yellow light. Similar to the first Lycan he fought.

"Aisrin. I'm a Hero!" Aisrin shouted as he launched himself at The Alpha, just to be whacked aside.

"Takeover!" The Alpha roared as he turned into the beast form of Lycan. Aisrin tumbled before regaining his composure, only to immediately dodge as the Alpha appeared and tried slashing him. The other Lycans retreated to the sides and watched obediently.

"Yo, Alpha. I got a couple questions. As a young pup, won't you pass on some advice before I go into the afterlife." Aisrin attempted to buy time... it worked.

"Hahaha! Very well! Ask your questions then!" The Alpha laughed. Aisrin activated his Void space magic and pulled out the severed head of the first Lycan and tossed it to the Alphas feet.

"First who was that? Second, is it not proper to kill those who take from you?" Aisrin inquired. Silence befell the Lycans as they stared in absolute disbelief at the severed head.

"I'll answer your questions backwards. Yes, in our customs, if you kill the one you took from you, and you succeed, then there is nothing wrong. It just means you were stronger. That's just the law of the world. To answer the first question, he was my son. Now I must ask, why did you kill him?" The Alpha was surprisingly calm and collected.

"He killed someone close to me. So I killed him... and I ate him." Aisrin replied.

"I see. And because of this, you came here to..." The Alpha tried to discern Aisrins actions and goals.

"I came here to exact my full vengeance." Aisrin responded simply.

"Hmm. I see. Very well. It is within your rights, I will not decline your intentions. In my eyes, that make you pure. My sin has troubled you, a stronger being. He has paid the price. But why do you wish to kill me as well?" The Alpha began to reason.

"Because, if you hadn't stepped foot in this land, I wouldn't have lost that person, now would I have?" Aisrin cooly replied.

"I see. Yes. So it was not my son's fault alone, but mine as well. So your quarrel is solely with me then?" The Alpha continued.

"Yes." Aisrin gritted his teeth. He was'nt sure how he was going to fight this guy with those doubled stats.

'Oh, wait! What would happen if I used Takeover and Limit Break?'

(Answer... Unknown.)

"Then, shall we fight seriously, Aisrin the Hero?" The Alpha grinned maliciously. He knew that Aisrin stood zero chance against him, and he now had more reason to kill him. He could prove now to the while world that he was stronger than even a Hero. His rule would go down in legends.

"As you wish." Aisrin began to sweat. He didnt want to do anything drastic yet. He wanted to face the Alpha with his own strength before testing Takeover alone. After all, he didnt know its effects or information.

"Hahaha! What a brave pup! Dont regret it in the afterlife!" The Alpha launched at Aisrin faster than he could see, but because of his high senses, he was able to dodge at the last second.

The Alpha continued his onslaught, not letting Aisrin rest one second. Aisrin dodged and rolled as well as parried as may strikes as he could, but he suffered many deep cuts as well.

The last strike sent him through a building. He stood and stepped back out. The Alpha stood in the center liking his claws drenched in Aisrins blood. Aisrin had cuts on his legs and chest. All of which were profusely bleeding.

"Let's end this Hero. I have better things to do." The Alpha beckoned.

"Very well... Takeover." Aisrin replied between breaths. He felt an intense change overtake his body, even pain. Regret, was what he felt instantly. His hair went entirely black and his eyes piercing red. His teeth grew several times sharper and his skin darkened. Shadow mist began to exude from him. His wounds healed instantly.

"Ta-Takeover!" The Alpha stepped back.

"I see... so this... is my 'Takeover'?" Aisrin looked at his hands. He had sharp nails, not quite claws, but not quite human. They were sharp like blades from what he could tell.

"Im-Impossible!" The Alpha began to protest.

"Too bad. But, it's the skill I absorbed after eating your son. Regret it in the afterlife." Aisrin pointed at The Alpha, a dark ball of magic gathered and then shot forth, right through the Alpha, like a black whip. The Alpha looked down, horror stricken.

"Pierce." Aisrin said simply. Black spikes protruded all over the Alpha from within, finally killing the Alpha in an anticlimactic fashion. Aisrin retracted the black whip back to a ball on his finger and turned towards the surviving Lycans. They all simply bowed down and surrendered.

Just as Aisrin was about to say something, his body gave out. He had drained his MP. But before he hit the ground, someone very familiar caught him.

"Good Job Aisrin... Just rest now." The familiar voice said. Aisrin tried to make out the figure before he passed out, only one word was able to escape his lips.

"...Father..?"
