I punch Alexander, hoping to hit him where it hurts. But it's as if I hit a huge slab of metal, and I feel more pain than benefit. His body feels like stone, it's as hard as a rock. He laughs even harder seeing me cringe in pain. He pats my head lightly, showing me that I'm still to weak to reach his level. I swear, once I grow stronger, I'll have his head. Then we'll see who'll be laughing then. "Well, since you got roughed up pretty bad, there won't be much training today. Get some rest you deserve". It turned out that I've been asleep for almost two days.
"I wouldn't need to if somebody could have helped". I respond glaring at him.
" But you still defeated it, so you've proven your capable". Alexander responds as if he doesn't think of the fact that I could've died due his recklessness.
'Ugh, I don't need Alexander, all I need is my fucking dantian so I can escape this prison cell and reach my full potential. I've cultivated before, all I need is some techniques for my Qi absorption. I wonder what my element will be anyway. Will it still remain fire?' I think forgetting Alexander is still beside my, looking at me weirdly due to my odd gestures and facial expressions. He just giggles, ' might be an effect of so many drugs'. He thinks to himself and heads out of the guards infirmary.
A few hours later, I'm out of the infirmary, heading towards the guards small mansion when I spot a bunch of royals on the open field practicing their martial arts. Having seen those old and flawed techniques before, I can only laugh in my mind wondering what will become of the soft-life royals.
Unfortunately, they notice me. As always they look at me with digust, their eyes as criticizing as ever. Not caring, I continue my stroll towards the mansion. I don't want anything to do with them, they're just a bunch of obstacles that I'll eventually trample over. Some of them laugh, other's spit, while the rest just sneer. I realize that it's not just because of the fact that I'm the child of a guard, but because they notice the red light that glows in their eyes. They know my those from the "hwa-bloodline" as most people call it. Something about it still seemed weird. I wonder why cultivators would care about a lost generation on the verge of extinction, it didn't really feel right to show so much hostility towards such weak and powerless people.
In a hopeless attempt to make me feel even worse, one of them calls on me." Hey peasant, there's a little dirt on my shoe, I want it cleaned off". There's an odd silence, as both fellow royals and by-standers await my response. Still in my position, with my long hair falling on my face, disguising most of my facial features, I slowly turn towards his direction, my eyes glow like lightbulbs as the early morning sun shines on my hidden face. "No" is all I utter while heading back to my quarters hoping for a nice meal waiting for me. Everyone is utterly stunned at my action, some of them dropping their jaws like cages, the boy feels embarrassed and disgraced as he companions look in his direction awaiting his next move. Some even laugh, but the boy only gets frustrated even more and marches towards my direction. He has also began training, so he tries to use one of his flawed martial arts to strike me. I dodge without even putting much effort, while holding the hands stopping right in his tracks. "You're too weak, get stronger, then try landing a hi on me again when that happens". The boy, feeling insulted, still refuses to accept defeat. He throws his right leg forward, aiming to hit me straight in the head, but I slam his chest and he goes falling on the ground. It was in my past life, I would've instantly cleaved his head off, but for now, I'll deal with what this little body has to offer. I head on walking, the boy stands and marches towards his huge mansion with his smug friends. He grumbles while heading towards a guard attempting to report me, but when he points, he sees nothing but the beautiful courtyard.
I'm back at home, finally having the rest I deserve when I hear the yelling of a familiar old man. I look out of the window to see the same old man who was harassed my father yelling and scolding him. My father is on his knees continuously begging for forgiveness, my mother is at his side with her head bowing so low it could be touching her heels, also pleading for forgiveness, but he won't give up until he shows us how worthless he thinks we are and disgraces my out family. All I manage to hear is, " Keep that little vermit away from the royal family, if you want to avoid leaving in the deadly forests ahead. With that, he leaves with the few guards he came with leaving my parents alone at the entrance to the guards quarters. 'That bastard ratted me out, and now my parents are the ones to pay for it'. I think as I welcome my parents seeing the great disappointment in their eyes. "How could you disrespect a royal? you know who we are and the world we currently live in. We're only allowed to even live because of the patriarchs generousity towards our kind. Why would you even insult a member of the main family?". I remain silent as I know something like this would happen. My father loses his patience as drags me by the collar of my worn out clothes. "Xiantian, I want you to listen very carefully". He says trying to keep his cool. " You will for no reason ever disrespect a member of the main family of the sect, or any member for that matter. I want you to obey them, even if they're impolite or arrogant".my father concludes walking away in great annoyance, but not because of me. Something about that man seems to piss him off greatly, but he can't seem to say or express it. My mother on the other hand looks me in the eye and sighs,"My dear Xiantian, I want you to promise me that you'll do everything possible to stay away from the main family at all costs. You might've had a reason for your actions, but for your father's sake, please keep away from them and don't let them get to you". She says smiling. Although I know she's hurt inside. I just nod before leaving for my evening training .
As minutes fly by, Alexander enters the room. I'm sure he's heard about what I did, but his aloof expression won't even allow me to properly scold him. He just smirks at me and says, "Bold move that you pulled back there , I heard about it. But it won't help get your family on the patriarchs good side, It'll actually be terrible for you and your family.
I suggest you know when and when not to retaliate". Then he goes back to his usual laughter. "Anyway, I'm done with the basics. Your further training will be handled by my colleague, Alise".
