Waking up early in the morning has always been my routine. Getting my clothes ready, my breakfast and getting a shower. I do what most people usually do.
But I can't say that I am the same as them.
After I got out of the shower, I changed to my uniform so that I can get ready for work.
After that I went to grab my slices of bread, and while I was eating them my phone shined bright in the middle of the table.
I expected a call but unfortunately, it's a text from my boss.
'WATSON! YOUR CASES ARE PILING UP! WHERE ARE YOU?!'
"Meh. I guess it's just the usual.", I said as I continued to look onto my phone.
Since there weren't any notifications left apart from my boss, I decided to put my phone into my pocket and finish eating my bread.
After finishing it, I took out some dog food for Bubba, but apparently he's still asleep.
I know that he might get worried that I woke up before him again, but I'll apologize to him by the time I come back. Which is still... at the evening.
After I put the dog food into his plate, I, then left from my apartment and locked it.
After leaving the building, I was right to wear the coat this time. Since it is getting pretty cold lately, and Winter is just around the corner..
"Brr.. Winter really is one of my weaknesses..", I said as I was rubbing my arms.
I put my hands in my pocket after that and continued to walk away from the apartment building so that I can go to my workplace.
It's not that far so I can walk under the early sunrise. But before I continued to go to my workplace, I stopped by and ordered some coffee which is just near where I live.
After getting the caffeine that I want, I continued to go to my workplace without any stops now.
And after arriving at my workplace, I expected it to be as quiet as before, but I guess that's not happening after that incident..
"WATSON! WHERE ARE THE FILES THAT I ASKED YOU TO?!"
"MS. WATSON, CAN YOU HELP ME WITH THIS CASE??"
"MS. WATSON, I MIGHT NEED SOME HAND ON THIS CASE."
"MS. WATSON, HOW DO I BEAT THIS GAME???"
Yeah, it is just chaos..

Anyways, I continued to walk pass my fellow detectives and policemen and went ahead to my office at haste.
After arriving at my office, I shutted and locked the door while still hearing some loud murmuring outside, but after a while, they stopped. I guess they all started to leave. After they all left, I took a deep sigh and said..
"Finally.. Some peace..."
I said that but after looking at my own office..
Papers and files were scattered everywhere. It was like a strong typhoon went and ruined all of my stuff.
Well, it's not like it was arranged to begin with but still..
"I guess I'll do some cleaning then.."
I put my coat on the hanger and turned on the AC at a temperature of 26°, so that it's not going to get colder inside than it is outside.
While I was in the middle of my cleaning, I heard knocking at the door.
*knock knock*
"Who's there?", I asked.
"It is I! Your humble assistant!"
Oh god.. I didn't know he was already here..
"I'm sorry but I don't have an assistant, you can leave now!"
"E-Eh??? Ms. Watson! Wha-What are you saying???"
Heh. Looks like it worked.
He's too easy to fool.
"OPEN UP!! MS. WATSON!!!", he shouted as he knocked the door even harder.
"FINE! FINE! JUST STOP KNOCKING MY DOOR THAT HARD!"
Geez.. What is up with him..
I got up from my position and opened the door, and got him in.
"Gee.. You don't have to be so rude Ms. Watson.. You almost made me cry..", he said.
"What are you a woman? Man up!", I said in a way of teasing him.
"Okay.."
I'm now starting to wonder if my assistant is either a cry baby, a girl or just a coward.
"You know Jhon, you would've gotten a promotion from the Chief if you just man up.", I said.
"Yeah....", he said in a sad tone.
I can't with this guy...
So I decided to punch him... In his left arm.
*smack!*
"Ow! What was that for??", he asked.
"I got pissed, that's all.", I replied.
"That's totally unreasonable!"
"Whatever, just help me clean the office so that we can get to work."
"Sure.."
My assistant's name is Jhon, although he just joined in a couple months ago and he may look like a coward and a newbie, when it comes to serious investigations, he'll really show his true instincts.
Minutes after our conversation ended, we finally finished cleaning and arranging the office. Now we can finally get to work.
"Fuwahh.. That was some tough cleaning...", he said.
"Not gonna lie, it was. But let's not stop now. You still have more cases to solve.", I said.
"By 'You', do you mean by me..? Only..?", he asked.
"Yep."
"Why is that, Ms. Watson..?"
"Because you're my assistant and I'm your senior/boss, so you can't talk back to me."
"Eehhh... You're really asserting your seniority aren't you."
"Hehe. That's the drill kiddo~"
Before I went to my chair and start my own work, Jhon started to suddenly walk around the office.
I was hoping that he wouldn't find the thing that I'm currently on right now, but unfortunately..
"Ms. Watson...", he said as he was flipping a paper up from a white board which is full of pictures and paper.
"I guess you found out huh...", I said.
"You can never hide from your assistant and also, aren't you onto this case for almost 3 months now? Why can't you just..."
"Put it down and let go all of my 3 months of hardwork?"
"Y-Yeah...?"
I went to where Jhon was standing and grabbed the paper that he was holding and covered the entire thing again.
"No. I won't drop this case.", I said as I walked away after flipping down the paper.
"W-Why though?", he asked as he followed me.
"Because there's more to it than meets the eye, I guess you can say it like that."
"More like love at first sight."
"Exactly, Jhon. That's why I won't drop that case that easily."
"What's special about this... Kid that stopped a tsunami?"
I looked at him so that he can realize how stupid he was to ask such a stupid and obvious question.
"O-Okay, I guess she's special but.. Isn't she just a Myth now?"
"She's a Myth, until she's proven.", I said as I arrived at my chair and sat.
Jhon tried to talk back to me but the words won't come out from his mouth so instead, he let out a sigh.
"Ms. Watson, I've admired you for what you did on the Reaper case. But..", I stopped him before he could say more.
"Then admire me more. Because after I solve this case, I'll prove to anyone that I wasn't stupid.", I said as I put my hands on the table.
"Fine.. But don't use me as an excuse when the Chief gets here.", he said.
"Don't worry, I can handle the Chief."
"Case file #872, Name : Atlantis.. Just what is my senior up to..", he muttered as he was going to his table.
I brought out some secret files from my drawer and put it on my table, hoping for Jhon to not notice it. I drank the remaining coffee that I had left before throwing it into the bin. After throwing it, I looked at the photo that I took from that incident.
Even if the others won't believe me, I never doubted what I saw that day..
