"I will take that ride. So what is the job?"
The manger pulled up a system menu and sent the job over.
[Axe G0 Trial: Stock 1000 Axes.]
"It is just simple stocking. Most of the jobs you will end up doing for the G Rank are like this. Have fun."
The manger walked off and the worker from before came back.
"The supplies are in the back room, so just follow me there. I will also be the person to drive you to wherever you are going to go to next sir."
"Thanks. Also I was wondering, what's so special about the coupon that makes people give me free rides and being nice to me?"
Hearing the question, the worker started to look around to check if anyone else was present before speaking.
"The coupon allows you to skip payment of the Path you are trying to do. Different Paths have different cost, but the coupon covers them all. But that is not what you are really asking. For the shops it allows them to recruit. Either from the recruitment pool of people from server 10000 or people from previous servers who haven't converted over yet."
"Converted?" Lich was unsure why they had to convert.
"Well over all 10000 servers, people have had to try whatever to get stronger. So nothing was really streamlined until now. Certain powers made systems to get some of their people in. Some said screw it and started from scratch. Then others are waiting in line to get in. With the coupon we can get 10000 people in. Also if we wanted to, we could also sell the seats to others. Of course those people can't get in until you use all 10 coupons."
Lich then understood something. "So the free rides aren't you guys being nice, but bringing the time your people come back sooner, rather than later?"
The worker smiled. "Of course. Here is the back please hurry up, if it wasn't for the fact that you have to be the one to carry it the whole time I would just grab it all for you."
...
Lich was on the ground huffing and trying to catch his breath, holding the last axe.
'This was way worse than the workout! I can only carry one axe at a time. So it took me a 1000 trips!'
Placing the last axe on the display, he was picked up by the worker.
While being carried outside, Lich quickly grabbed the sticky note on the door. Sitting in the car, Lich fully looked over the flyer the sticky note transformed into.
It was simple Lich posing with an axe shirtless. There wasn't even words.
'Who is the target audience of this? I don't even look good in this either, weird.'
...
"We are here, sorry I didn't ask where you wanted to go. However you will not be displeased with my choice."
Looking out the window of the car, Lich saw a giant black tower with blood running down its side. "This is either the blood magic tower or the executioner tower after a hard days of work."
Instead of laughing at the joke, the worker pushed Lich out of the car and drove away.
"I am glad there isn't a comedy path, I wouldn't be able to advance otherwise."
Getting up and dusting himself off, Lich heard the sound of a door opening. A woman in a crimson mage robe walked out of the tower and smiled at him.
"Welcome to my Blood Mage Tower. Normally there is a vetting of people wanting in mage towers. However with your coupons I am willing to skip a few steps."
"I thought everyone would do whatever for a coupon, so why bring it up?" Lich was confident with his statement, as getting 10000 recruits would push your control of power above your peers.
The Tower mage laughed and explained. "Not everyone cares about getting more people. It can cause more problems than benefits. For instance, with an influx of Nuclear Elemental's. The resources alone is terrifying to think of. But you have to factor in having 10000 more people being nuclear sources. All of that radiation is hard to control. So they would just push you away if you went there."
"Oh that makes sense. However wouldn't it be Nuclear Mage? Why did you use elemental?"
While talking, they were walking into the tower to get to where Lich was going to be working.
"Most people will use both terms. However if you want to be technical it is elemental. Just sometimes it sounds better to use mage. A blood mage tower or a blood elemental tower. Which would you use?"
'End of the day, the power doesn't change so who f*cking cares.' Though Lich thought this, he was not going to say it out loud since he was the one to ask. "I could go with either. So what will my job be here?"
"I am glad you asked. The work for you today is to simply put Blood Elemental stones on display. Some find the work... sickening. But learning is always hard."
[Blood G0 Trial: Put 1000 Elemental Stones On Display]
In front of Lich was buckets full of blood. Reaching into the bucket, Lich learned there were multiple stones in them.
"Ah, so I guess they sit in here so they don't lose durability or something?"
Walking over to the displays, Lich learned his job was just being the middle man of bucket to tank. The displays were just glass tanks full of blood. However since they were almost full, Lich couldn't just dump them into the tanks. He had to shift his hand in the bucket to get all of the stones.
...
By the end of working, Lich was covered in blood and his hands were stained. Lich found it hard to breath as all he could smell was blood.
"Wow, you are going to go far kid! Most of the people I see working the first time here throw up. Even though most of them are harden killers, they never had to shift their hands into so much blood."
Walking up to Lich, the blood tower mage waved her hand. All of the blood on Lich was cleaned away instantly.
"One of my guys are already waiting to take you to the next place. I hope you like Mech's. One of my gal pals runs a shop and agreed to take you. I hope you don't say no, since the price of trying to get into the Mech without the coupon is staggering. Hell most people even skip it since the price is too much."
"Mech's! Thank you so much! I f*cking love Mech's! Woohoo!" Hearing Lich's outburst caused a frighten look on the face of the blood elemental. She quickly tried to do something but a voice caused her to have a expression of someone who lost everything.
"Fumu, fumu. A fellow Mech lover? I will pick up this handsome man myself!"
"I just paid off the damages of last time!" The blood elemental started to break down and cry.
Feeling extremely confused Lich spoke up. "I am sorry? Who was that and why could I hear her?"
"That was my friend I was telling you about. I was still on call with her. She said she wanted to see your reaction to mechs. She said if you weren't happy she was going to say no to you. Since you are a guy I knew you would be happy. If I knew you were a mech fanatic like her, I would of told you to tone it down until you got there. I need to tell my people to evacuate."
Before Lich could question the need of evacuation he heard a crunch and then the wall of the tower exploded. Giant tentacles started to reach into the building. In the center of the mass of tentacles was a mech.
"WAA! Flat is Justice!"
Staring at the mech, Lich understood two things. The flat and sleek designs of some the parts of the mech did look cool. Calling it justice was confusing though. Also that the crunch he heard before the wall exploded was the car that was originally his ride to the mech place.
The mech started to move and the next thing Lich knew it was in front of him. The chest of the mech opened up and someone walked out. Before she could say anything, Lich said something that caused her to freeze up.
"Your purple eyes are really beautiful and orange is my favorite color, so I also like your orange hair! Though, it would be cooler if the colors were switched."
The Mech pilot started to blush and stutter. "It is violet, not purple. Hurry up and get in."
Luckily the door was knocked in front of Lich, so he didn't have to try and explain why he had to search for the door before he could leave.
