The heat of her adrenaline coursed through Olivia's veins while she raced to meet Lorna.
Cannot believe I am late.
Olivia ran through the halls until she reached Tosh's classroom. What am I going to tell her? Olivia wondered.
Lorna opened the door from the other side, allowing Olivia to walk in.
"Thank you...," Olivia walked into the darkroom with only the light from the hallway, shining through the door's window.
"Any reason for the darkroom?" Olivia asked with a lump in her throat.
"I saw you outside when that thing attacked," Lorna said.
"What are you talking about?"
"That two-headed dog that attacked the neighborhood," Lorna, scowled at her. "You were fighting it with magic. You're a witch,"
Olivia felt an excellent weight sink deep into her chest as her cover had blown.
"You're joking, right?"
" I saw you cast a spell to turn that jackal into a glass figure," Lorna said." I saw everything."
" Listen, Lorna. Whatever you think you saw, I swear I ...,"
" Don't lie to me again," Lorna yelled." You knew how I felt about magic."
" I didn't mean to hurt you."
" No. You wanted to use me to get to your brother. But after all the crap that has been happening in the city, I do not think you should be anywhere near him,"
" You don't get to make that decision." Olivia snapped, feeling the bulge in her throat.
" If you want to protect him, you'll stay away from him. Matter of fact, stay away from me too." The two young ladies filled with emotions. Olivia reached into her pocket.
" I have another class soon," Lorna sobbed." Please leave."
Olivia pulled out a spare badge and left it on the desk next to her." There are dangerous witches coming to the city," Olivia said. She turned away from Lorna. If Tosh is in danger, please use this to contact me. I'll be there as soon as possible." The witch detective walked out of the classroom. She felt the heartbreak of the day's events.
Conflicted with the dreadful interaction she had with Lorna; Olivia walked out of the school with her head hung.
Way to go, witch girl, Olivia thought." Got distracted by a pretty face and got your heart broken. I might never speak to Tosh.
Olivia answered her badge as she took a break from her thoughts.
" What's up, Jill?"
" Liv, I found the shrine that matches the description you gave me," Jill said.
" What?! How?"
" While you and wolf boy were saving city from giant monsters, I did a lot of research around town. I had to overshadow librarians to piece it together. But I think I know where the Blessing plans to use their spell. I will send you the coordinates now. Get here as soon as I can,"
" Sure. On my way."
Olivia waited for the coordinates to display from her badge to allow her to track its position.
"There it is."
Olivia ran behind the school and hid in a corner where no one could see her. She teleported herself directly to the place Jill gave her.
While Jill and Olivia pursued the location Jill found, Scott decided to pursue Dr. Willows in the bar. However, Scott was prevented from entering the bar by a hefty bouncer.
" Not so fast, kid," The bouncer said.
" It's okay. I'm with the doc," Scott lied.
" Sorry but you look too young to be in this bar. Come back when you don't need a safety guard to cross the schoolyard."
The bouncer moved Scott to the side but Scott to push the man into the wall.
As he pinned the bouncer, Scott's eyes turned a red and black hue, enticing the bouncer into a subconscious trance.
" You are old enough to step in," Scott uttered.
" You are old enough to step in," The bouncer repeated.
Scott released the bouncer so he could unchain the entrance and allow Scott to walk in. As the young teenager walked in, Scott snapped his fingers to free the bouncer from his control with no memory of what had happened.
Perks of being half vampire.
As the vampwolf glanced around the bar, the daunting stares at the young man walking in such an establishment bothered his conscience.
The teenage detective found Dr. Willows at the end of the table, slumping over the bar table while the bartender poured her another drink.
Scott made his way to the doctor before being cut off by a large, muscular biker.
" Aren't you supposed to be in a daycare, kid?" The biker asked.
" Shouldn't you be in a retirement home," Old man?" Scott responded. The surrounding bar clientele laughed.
" Watch your tone, kid."
The biker cracked his knuckles as Dr. Willows watched.
" Out of my way, creep."
Scott tried to move past the biker, but the biker blocked his path.
" I'll give until the count of three to get out of my bar, boy," said the biker." One ... Two ...,"
Scott shoved the biker across the bar, sending him into the back of the establishment.
" Three," Scott smirked.
The doctor began clapping from after finishing her drink.
" That's one way to get my attention," Dr. Willows said.
" Can we talk?" Scott asked.
" Sure, kid."
The doctor paid her tab, left the bar, and walked up to Scott.
" But let's talk somewhere more ... secure."
" Lead the way, Doc."
The two walked out of the bar as the rest of the clientele watched, unaware of what occurred. As Olivia and Jill encountered their masked adversary in the Colosseum, Scott stepped outside the bar to speak to Dr. Willows regarding the death of her sister and the book of ex nihilo.
" Here we are," Dr. Willow said.
" Thanks for agreeing to talk to me out here, Doc," Scott said." I know this seems unusual.
"Kid, I'm used to things being out of the ordinary. After all, it is not every day a young, handsome vampwolf approaches me."
Scott opened his eyes shocked to hear the doctor knew what he was.
" Please don't lie," the doctor said while she lit a cigarette. I could sense what you were the minute you step foot in the bar,
" Lady, I'm not sure what you're talking about," said Scott.
Dr. Willows pulled down her collar, revealing a gold necklace with a red pendant in the middle.
" What is that?"
" This is an Oracle pendant. It allows the owner it to see any supernatural creature around them. It also allows its user to be unaffected by any trance or spell cast by folklore,"
"You know all about Parabola?"
" I've spent years researching Parabola. To most of the world, I am just an archaeologist. But that's a cover-up for my real work."
" Which is?"
The doctor lifted her briefcase and pulled out the book that Scott and the other agents have coveted.
" Paranormal studies."
" Okay, this is not what I expected."
" I can tell you're shocked. I would be too."
" Wait, Doc. If you know so much about Parabola, why are you selling that book?"
The doctor backed away from Scott, hunching over, cradling the book.
" I started to believe that my studies were nonsense. I spent years looking for artifacts like this necklace and this book. But I never found proof that they were connected to Parabola,"
" Until I saw you and your witch friend fight the Minotaur and that jackal. The news crew claimed it was computer electronics to attract tourists to Buffalo. But I did not believe that bull crap. It proved that I was right. Witches exist, and so does Parabola."
The doctor's disturbing obsession with the supernatural elements of Parabola made Scott suspicious of her connection to The Blessing.
" I hoped I could speak to her again." The doctor smiled." I would tell her how sorry I am for causing her death. Scott scowled at the doctor as felt an enormous pit of confusion in his chest.
" Who are you talking about, Ma'am?"
" My sister, ..."
But before she could finish her sentence, a bolt of dark electricity shocked Scott from behind, immobilizing him.
" SCOTT," The doctor screamed.
Two Quick devils zoomed in. They cornered the doctor and her companion.
