Chapter 13 - The Date (2)

Jeannie looked out at the scenery as the car drove towards the destination. Othon was as beautiful a country as she had imagined it to be. Her mother had often spoke of their own homeland and looking out, she could not help but wonder of the Isle of Argent was the same. The question had arisen in her mind when the man next to her spoke," If you look carefully, you might be able to see your home country from here. We are currently driving through the west coast and as you know the Isle of Argent is the closest neighbor on the west."

"I actually did not know. My Geography was pretty week when in high school. In fact, I wouldn't be able to point Isle of Argent or even this quaint nation of Othon on the map. Also, my home is nowhere near here."

Christopher raised a eyebrow. It seemed the woman had a spot for the Isle of Argent. Well it was none of his concern." Also, it's all water. Same everywhere. I don't know what to be so excited about. Other than the helicopter ride and this car ride, there has been nothing princess like so far."

" I changed the plan at the end moment. Since you seem to abhor the terms prince and princess, I thought that I'd change the date a bit to suit your tastes. However, I must say, I am impressed with your restraint."

"Restraint?"

"Hmm.. The way you barged into my hotel room, I almost expected that you would make this date quite an ordeal for me and yourself."

Jeannie finally turned her head fully to look at the Prince. He had keen intelligence. Shrugging her shoulders, she said," I had planned to. But then I did not waste my time and energy so much. I am sure that Prince Christopher and his entitlement to things is enough to ruin the date. So what is our next destination? Are we going to the famous Tulip gardens of Othon that boasts hundreds of varieties of flowers?"

"I thought your geography was weak and you knew nothing about Othon. But you do seem to know about our gardens.." He had, of course, planned to take her there. It had been a good opportunity to promote their nation as a tourist spot for lovers. But with her being allergic to flowers, he'd had to rule that out.. It would certainly not be romantic if she kept sneezing..

" Well, actually we are going on a cruise. A little distance off shore, there are caves that we used to put prisoners in. It is now the national museum. From there, we could go for some scuba diving or even glass boat fishing.. And enjoy some freshly fished food. I hope you are not allergic to sea food.", Christopher finished off sardonically.

Her tinkling laughter caught him by surprise. It was a beautiful sound. But once again she had to speak... and spoil the moment. " I am not allergic to sea food! In fact I love sea food." Before he could nod in relief, however, she continue," I am however prone to getting sea sick which results in me puking out the contents of my stomach quite violently and also, I don't know how to swim so Scuba diving is out of the question."

Christopher: ".."

Christopher wondered if she was purposely trying to be difficult. She was scared of heights, so they could not go paragliding. She was allergic to flowers. And now she was allergic to the sea!

After a few minutes, Jeannie was unable to control her laughter after seeing the Prince's face. Laughing hard enough, she pointed at his face and muttered," You should see yourself in the mirror, prince. You look horrified! Relax. I actually love the see and the boats."

Prince Christopher felt indignant at being made a fool of and without stopping to think through his actions, he suddenly leaned forward and forgetting his strategy of calmly negotiating with the woman, stole her laughter with his kiss.

Jeannie widened her eyes when she felt his lips take hers. She had tried hard to forget the earlier kiss but before she could, he was kissing her again. Time seemed to stop as his lips moved against hers fiercely. Her stomach fluttered and her knees seemed to go even more weaker. Everything forgotten, her hands slowly moved to clutch at his shoulders. She could only focus on the addictive way he seemed to be taking over her senses and her fingers curled into the soft material of his shirt.

Christopher did not know what brought him to this perfect moment. But he knew that it was perfect. The warm feeling of her breath against his, the way her fingers curled over him. Her fragrance seemed to have invaded his senses, making him powerless to stop. Slowly, he draped both his arms over her dainty frame and leaned over her, pushing her gently into the plush seat of the car.
