Chapter 5 - What Have You Done To Me?

Valeria Campbell

It's been a month since school started and things are surprisingly getting better.

Lucy and I have become closer, and we've been spending a lot of time together.

And then there's Ivan.

He kept driving me home every day as he promised and he's also been texting me a lot.

*last night's conversation*

I: "Hello Val, how are you?"

V: " Hey, I'm good. How about you?"

I: " I'm alright. I wanted to ask you something."

V: " Sure, what is it?"

I: "Do you have any plans tomorrow?"

V: " Not yet. Why?"

I: " Would you like to go out with me? Nothing extravagant, we'll just go to a funfair, and you can go back home as soon as you want."

V: " I'd love to."

I: " Great! I'll pick you up at 6."

V: " Perfect!"

Words can't describe how excited I was. I haven't gone out somewhere in a long time, and I needed to cheer up a bit.

And most importantly, it was going out with *him*.

I'm a teenager, I have to live my life to the fullest before I become a boring adult. No offense.

During class, I couldn't help but stare at Ivan all the time, I would zone out forget that the teacher was talking.

He caught me looking, which was very embarrassing. His lips curled up into a smirk, making me blush. Trying to keep my eyes on the teacher was a challenge, but I don't want to think I'm creepy.

Oh lord.

Ivan Knight

I've never been attracted to any girl like I were to Valeria. She had me under her spell but I wasn't complaining.

During the past month, we've been getting a lot closer.

And since we started talking, I found myself not walking around hooking up with random girls. I didn't need that. Her presence could make me feel things I've never felt before.

Butterflies.

During my teenage years, I have gone on more dates than I can count. They were my specialty. Yet, I couldn't get myself to ask her to go out with me in person.

It made me nervous.

Who is this guy?

That's why I figured that the best thing to do was to message her.

She only took a few minutes to answer back, but hundreds of thoughts were running through my head during that short amount of time.

What if she said no? What if I creeped her out? What if she thinks I have bad intentions?

She said yes.

I was just overthinking.

We were done with classes. It was time to drive her back home.

My favorite part of the day.

As soon as she saw me in my car, she smiled, walking over before hopping in.

"So, how was your day?", she asks me still smiling.

"Same old shit but a different day. School routine is quite boring", I answer her question, still focusing on the road.

"I agree, the school needs a bit of spice. And better food."

"Definitely, couldn't agree more."

The rest of the ride was quiet. Listening to her favorite music like usual and singing along.

It was quite funny watching her sing. Our voice was bad, but it didn't stop us from hitting those high notes.

I'm myself when I'm with her and I don't have to hide behind the fake persona I put on at school.

A few minutes have passed, and I arrived at her house. I didn't want her to leave.

But I'll see her in a few hours. I'll survive.

"I'll see you later. Thank you for the drive." She says as she walks out of the car.

"For the millionth time, stop thanking me," I say with a smile. "And I can't wait."
