Chereads / 31 Days (BL) / Chapter 3 - Day 2

Chapter 3 - Day 2

"Someone looks happy" Terence's senior, Dr. McGrath smirked.

"I got laid," Dr. Tyson declared with a prideful smirk.

"About time" his senior cheered. "So, you're back to dating, huh?" Dr. McGrath teased.

"No, I'm keeping it casual. I'm not ready for a relationship. Not yet". Shrugged Dr. Tyson.

"I suppose that's fair." Dr. McGrath nodded. "So, how did you meet this guy?".

"I met him in a bar" Dr. Tyson Shrugged.

"Since when do you go to bars?" Dr. McGrath tilted his head and asked.

"Well, I figured why not," Dr Tyson shrugged.

"You're being weird, you're hiding something" Dr. McGrath narrowed his eyes.

"Don't you have any patients today?" Annoyed, Dr. Tyson asked.

"Excuse me for taking an interest in the lives of my colleagues. You should be honored that I'm being so attentive even if I'm getting married in 2 weeks" Dr. McGrath smirked.

"Yeah, maybe you should focus on the wedding," Dr. Tyson suggested.

"I can't. Zoe asked me not to get involved or I'll screw it up" Dr. McGrath pouted. A chuckle appeared on Dr. Tyson's face when he heard him say that. He was well familiar with the messy ways of his senior, and quite frankly, he didn't blame Zoe. At that moment their interns walked in, seeking their advice.

"What is it"? Dr. Tyson asked them.

"I think we might have a cancer patient. We can't treat him," She admitted honestly. "I think you should take a look at him. Here is the X-Ray" She handed him the skiagram.

As Dr. Tyson took a look he blinked. He shared the same with his senior who was amazed as well, "Onion Peel" Dr. McGrath mumbled. "This patient needs some extra tests, let's go see him" they both nodded, heading towards the ward and thus officially starting their rounds.

Meanwhile, in a department not so far away, amidst it's chaotic nature a sleep deprived guy groaned. "I'm so sore," Chance groaned in pain, taking an empty seat in the cafeteria.

"Since when do you bottom" Kara who appeared out of the blue managed to scare the crap out of Chance.

"Dude, you scared me," he breathed. "No, I didn't bottom. I'm just so tired, I barely got any sleep" Chance rectified.

"Wait, he…" Kara looked around, then lowering her voice further, "Dr. Tyrant let you top him"? She asked, being well aware of that snide nickname Chance gave.

"Let me"? Chance scoffed. "More like he made me" he snorted. "Guess what he is gay. Now I wish I hadn't made this deal just like that."

"Dude"! Kara slapped his arm excitedly. "Sounds hot," she commented.

"Oh no it wasn't. I ended up with multiple bruises. That's how messy he was. Man he is sure neat about his equipment but when it comes to sex he is goddamn messy. " Chance informed her with frustration.

"Really"? Kara frowned. "I dunno, he looks like sex on a stick, like a greek god or something" she gave him a suggestive look.

"More like beat with a stick, except maybe that stick is a police baton" Chance sighed.

"I don't understand," Kara admitted honestly. "Not that I need to know all the details explicitly, but exactly what are you getting at"? She asked him.

Chance looked around himself, making sure that he wouldn't be heard, he said, "Everything about last night felt wrong. It was so… it felt really forced."

Kara raised her eyebrows to indicate as if it was obvious. Sensing her implication, Chance rectified her, "I know it's an arrangement, but still, sex is an art. You don't just do whatever the hell comes to your mind, you gotta…. You know, set the mood" he scoffed. "I'm going to call off this arrangement, this was a ridiculous idea to begin with" he mumbled.

"Maybe that's what he wants"? Kara suggested.

"What"? Chance frowned.

"Think about it, you made this deal, and his primary goal is to make you regret it. Maybe he was bad on purpose so that you won't like it. So that you would call it quits" She smirked.

"That…" he trailed off as he considered the idea, "that actually makes a lot of sense. That did not occur to me" Chance nodded.

"That's cause you're an idiot," Kara snickered.

Chance shook his head before saying, "even if you're right, what's the point?" Chance asked. "The sex will continue to be terrible. I don't want a month long terrible sex" Chance groaned. "I'd rather be a virgin".

"Or…" She raised her fingers with a faint smirk up her face, "You could take the lead" she suggested.

"You know what Kara? You really are a genius" Chance commented with a smirk.

Their morning started with relatively less cases, thanks to which Chance could sneak a nap in the morning. Kara volunteered to look out for the patients that were available and after which Chance would join them.

That day their on-call doctor was a bit more grumpier than Dr. Winter which only made it harder for them to work. When he saw Chance late in the afternoon, he was pissed. Not because he was unavailable in the morning, but why the patient with a mild stomach ache still in the ER.

That patient had been there the entire day, and no matter how much they tried to send him home, tried to convince the relatives of the guy that he was okay, they wouldn't budge. They even gave him an ultrasound which came back perfectly okay, but still they won't leave.

"What do you want from us"? Exasperated Chance asked them.

"We want you to examine him thoroughly," The patient's sister insisted.

"We did, he has nothing to worry about," Chance explained.

"Then why is he still in pain"? She challenged him.

"He must have eaten something, cause trust me it is nothing serious. Give him time, it should go away" Insisted Chance.

"I can't take this anymore" The patient cried out.

"Can't you at least give him a painkiller"? The sister requested.

"We did," Chance blinked. "Just a second" He excused himself and explained how the pain killer failed to work. The Doctor was adamant that the patient was faking and decided to take him upon himself to talk to the relatives.

"The painkiller takes time to kick in, just go home. He should be fine pretty soon. This environment is stressing him out, making him more sick" The doctor, the same grumpy doctor explained them gently. Chance's eyes widened at the complete turn on his personality

Soon, it shifted back again when he turned to look at Chance. "You better learn stuff fast" He spat and moved on.

Since Kara helped him with his shift, he decided to cover for her in the evening. Little did he know that it was going to be so packed that he would barely get time to breathe. Amidst his work he received a text. It was from Dr. Tyson with a name and address on it, along with a map and a text saying [See you tonight]

Gritting his teeth, he decided to head out wearing his scrubs, not even bothering to shower as well. Once he arrived at the place Chance couldn't help but marvel at the building, "Wait, who the hell lives here. There is no way Dr. Tyson can afford it" Chance mumbled out loud.

The message clearly instructed room 12C, that is the C apartment on the 12th floor. As much Chance was dreading the idea of sex, he was sort of excited for the view from up there. He went inside, staring at the lavish interior of the place as he proceeded. On the twelfth floor, he finally made it to the dorr 12C and considered thrice before eventually knocking on the door.

After a while, a man showed up at the door, brushing his hair off with the towel. "I see you finally made it," Terrence invited Chance in.

"Busy Day" Chance mumbled. "You, live here"? Chance couldn't help but ask.

"Yeah, this is my apartment," Terrence affirmed, "I can't do a rooftop room of another bar anymore. That place is too tiny," He commented.

"So is my place," Chance commented. "Anyways, before things escalate I want to talk to you".

"Abou what"? Terrence furrowed his brows.

"About this arrangement of ours" Chance clarified.

"You mean, my penalty" Terrence smirked. "What? Backing out already?" He smirked. Seeing that smirk made Chance realise that maybe Kara was right. Maybe he was driving Chance crazy on purpose to drive him away.

"Yeah, we need to set some ground rules," Chance declared.

"Like what"? Terrence frowned.

"Like, we are not telling anyone about this. Apart from Kara, I already told her." Chance shook his head.

"That's not fair, I should get to tell someone too" Terrence insisted.

"One person. You can tell one person, like I told Kara." Chance cleared his throat. "We are sort of co-workers. I don't want to get called in the HR or something before I get the chance to graduate"

"Fair enough" Terrence smirked. "What else'?

"Since this arrangement is for thirty one days, let's make it count. I won't always have time, and you might not either. There can always be emergencies, if any one of us cancels. we can reschedule another day." Chance declared.

"Making it count," Terrence scoffed but nodded in agreement.

"And last thing, I don't want any STD's, so let's use portections" Chance declared.

Terrence smirked before saying, "You think I have an STD"?

"You might. I am not willing to risk it." Chance declared.

"How do I know you don't have one"? Terrence asked.

"You don't. That's why protection is important" Chance declared.

Terrence chuckled at that. "Fine, I am personally not very fond of condoms, but yeah, you make a good point".

"Right, so.. Last thing. Do you have something to freshen up? Like a change of clothes or something?" Chance asked.

"You can shower if you want. I can see you came directly from the hospital. I don't want hospital sweat all over me." Terrence cringed showing him the door to the washroom. "You can wash up here".

"Thanks" Chance nodded, very well surprised by his hospitality. He must say, he wasn't expecting this conversation to go this smoothly.

He was showering, trying to think of how he will gain control, so much so that he might have actually gotten performance anxiety. He was halfway done when there was a knock on the door. Since the shower area was separated by a shower curtain, he let him in. "Here, I think these will fit you. You are shorter than me, so I think it will do" Terrence declared.

"Okay" Chance shouted.

"You okay in there"? Terrence teased. "Want me to join ya"?

"It's a lot slippery. If you don't want your fellow residents to treat you for some hip injury or something, I suggest you stay out" Chance huffed.

Terrence ended up laughing at that. "I'll see you outside" he mumbled and got out.

When Chance finally came out, Terrence was waiting for him on the bed, lying comfortably, while watching some show on the TV. "Do you have nothing else to do"? Chance couldn't help but ask.

"Nope" Terrence smirked. "So…" Switching off the TV, chance straightened himself. "Let's get on with it". He smirked, eyeing Chance's bare chest, as Chance, for some reason, did not put on the shirt given to him by Terrence.

"Why not?" Chance smirked as well.

They both approached each other, and began with a kiss. The kiss, starting off as awkward, turned out to be a heated one pretty quick. Chance grazed his right hand through Terrence's hair, while Terrence's hand was busy tracing the abs on Chance's abdomen. He couldn't help but wonder how the hell an intern get time to build such a body. Nevertheless, he had no complaints.

Just as Terrence was about to get up, Chance pulled on Terrence's hair and pushed him on the bed, while bringing his lips to the nape of Terrence's neck. Chance left numerous kisses, and a streak of several bites with definitely was to leave a mark. Terrence however couldn't care less, he was simply drowning in pleasure. Chance sure knew how to please a guy. As their session escalated, Chance gained control and pretty soon both of them were naked. Before things could proceed further he heard a yell, "Stop"!

Chance blinked, while pulling away. Terrence was breathless, but Chance knew it was not because of arousal, but panic. He had no idea why Terrence might have panicked, but somehow he felt it was better not to ask him about it. "I am sorry, I…" Terrence struggled to answer. "Can I… lead"? He asked/ begged.

For as long as Chance had known him, he had never seen Terrence this freaked out, or vulnerable. Digging deep right now might not help, but he knew that if Terrence was like this, it must be a pretty valid reason. So ignoring his qualms about Terrence taking the lead, Chance nodded. They flipped their positions, and thus they continued with their second day.
