"Is it weird that I don't want to go home tonight?" I ask leaning against Nayel's chest who was playing with my hair.
Nayel chuckles, his laugh echos through the quiet office, "I'm not going to pretend I don't find it bizarre that you just suggested spending the night at the office when both of us have very nice comfortable homes, Ria."
I turn around to face him, "It's so pretty outside with all the rain, my apartment doesn't have this kind of view."
"We could go to my place, you love the view over there" Nayel's fingers caress my cheeks, his beautiful brown orbs scanning my face.
I smile, "Rain makes me lazy, I don't feel like getting up" I wrap my arms around his neck, straddling his waist.
Nayel laughs, his head falling back, "So what? You want to spend the entire night here when we have work tomorrow morning at the same place?"
"Doesn't sound half bad if you ask me" I shrug, "Almost like an adventure. Night Cap at the office" I use my hands to articulate a sign.
"If only I didn't love you, I'd think you're such a peculiar person" Nayel shakes his head.
"But you love me," I say in a sing-song tone making Nayel smile. I turn back around and lean against his chest. Letting Nayel hold me as the sounds of the rain hit the ground running in the background.
Nayel kisses me on the forehead as we sit in silence for a few seconds until my eyes meet Nayel's desk calendar and I bite my lower lip, "Can I ask you something?" I say without turning around.
"Shoot," Nayel kisses the spot under my right ear making me giggle.
"I've always wondered why you have those green crosses on random dates on your calendar. They aren't meetings or court dates because I'm your assistant and none of those dates have any significance for any work-related matter. So what are they?"
A minute goes by and Nayel doesn't say anything. I furrow my eyebrows and turn around to look at him, "Well?"
Nayel shakes his head looking anywhere but in my eyes, "Just something stupid" I don't know if I was imagining it but a tint of red was appearing on his cheeks. Was Nayel getting flustered?
Curiosity grows inside of me, "What are you not telling me?" I switch positions so I was straddling his lap my arms around his neck.
A sly smile appears on his lips, "It's dumb Ria" Nayel whines.
"Tell me please" I pout as he stares into my eyes.
He lets out a hefty sigh, "If you must know" Nayel pauses squeezing my waist gently, "When you started working here, It was hard for me to not tell you I'm in love with you every time I saw you smiling or when you'd say something funny I had to play it off like I don't give a shit because I was doing that whole dick boss thing. It became harder and harder because I didn't even have anyone I could talk to about you because I don't really have many friends and most importantly I was lying to myself for the longest time so to keep up the asshole boss facade I started marking days in the calendar to restrain myself from acting the way I wanted to with you" Nayel lets out a breath, "It's so dumb" Nayel shakes his head, his cheeks glowing slightly red. I smile, I'd never seen him blush.
"Let me get this straight, you started marking the days where you found it absolutely impossible to be a jackass to me?" I stare at him in amusement.
"Also marked a few days when you gave me hard-ons." Nayel shrugs avoiding my gaze.
I chortle, "What? Why would you do that?"
"I don't know it started as a way to distract myself so I don't pull my cock out and jerk off with you sitting a few feet outside the door and then I guess I started keeping track" Nayel shrugs.
"And I'm the bizarre one?" I joke causing Nayel to chuckle.
"I told you it was dumb" Nayel cocks his head, "I stopped doing it after we got together, I didn't need to suppress my feelings anymore," He says removing a strand of hair from my face, "Now whenever you give me a hard-on, I fuck you against my desk" He leans in and tugs my lower lip with his teeth making me blush.
"But you have 2 crosses in the last week which is why I even noticed it right now."
Nayel grins, "Well I marked it on my birthday when you gave me probably the hardest hard-on I've ever gotten in that brown dress" I grin victoriously at his words, "And then I marked the day you told me you loved me because that's like the end of the calendar crosses, you're finally all mine. Mission accomplished" Nayel says making me smile.
Nayel stares at me, "I hadn't cared about anyone or anything this much in a long long long time before you so it was nice to be reminded that I still had a heart" Nayel licks his lips, his eyes softening.
I pout cupping his cheeks in my hands, "You're so cute"
Nayel rolls his eyes, "Shut up".
I smile pressing my lips onto his, "My man is such a softie" I say and he shakes his head trying to hide his smile.
"My turn to ask you something," Nayel says grabbing my hips and pulling me closer into his lap.
"Unfortunately, I did not have a calendar marked with days you made me smile or wet" I purse my lips together and Nayel rolls his eyes.
"How long are you going to tease me about this?" Nayel squeezes my hips.
"Probably forever" I shrug leaning in to kiss him on his cheek, "What'd you want to ask me?" I say wrapping my arms around his neck.
"So" Nayel starts, "My brother is getting married next week and I was wondering if you'd want to go to Toronto with me for the wedding. Everyone has been dying to meet you If you're okay with that." Nayel stares at me with uncertainty.
My smile reaches my eyes, "I would love to"
"Yeah?" Nayel smiles.
"Absolutely" I nod.
"Great, my parents are going to be so happy." Nayel cups my face, "Everyone is going to love you, probably more than they love me" Nayel jokes making me giggle.
"That is if we ever leave this office" Nayel adds.
I chuckle, "Okay fine, guess we can go home" I playfully roll my eyes getting off his lap.
Nayel grabs my wrist pulling me back to him, "I love you" his thumb caresses my cheek gently.
"As you should" I humor him pulling him close by his tie and pressing our lips together.
