And so, he got dressed, put his air pods in and the grind begun.

*pant* *pant* he was in his room gasping for air, he wasn't as tired as before, but it wasn't for long as a black smoke came from no where and engulfed Xale, it felt as comforting as before.
As soon as the black smoke dissipated a rejuvenated Xale was revealed.
"Thank you Abyss, you're a life saver." He sighed in relief, it was going to be a pain to function if he had to sleep after a simple daily quest every time.
'Honestly, this new ability is a time saver, it only took me an hour to run 10 km, of course the mana consumption is large but for a 2x boost in speed it's great.' This was the reason he was finished so soon.
It was then he read the quest complete notification,
"So it seems my stamina will increase through pushing myself past my energy can handle? That's incredibly useful, if I just put more into things... maybe I can gain additional stat points even though I haven't completed a quest."
He had assumed that all progress was going to be artificial through the system, but it may not be so. Well, it may still be through the system but it's not like it's as easy to get as a quest's rewards.
'Any way let's allocate my points, I've now got 12 stamina which more than a fifth more than I had at the start yesterday. I think I'll just continue the trend of agility and perception until their balanced out, [ Stats allocated. ]

'Profit' Xale smiled lightly, 'I'm doing this smiling thing quite often lately...'
Hearing a knock on the door, he walks up to the door and opens it.
Outside is of course his little sister, "Xale, could you go to the store please? I'd go myself but I'm helping mum and Zander is out with his friends." she pleaded.
"Yeah sure, what do we need? I was planning on going outside for a while like usual anyway." Xale asked, he usually did the store runs anyway, his sister was lazy and his brother was out with his friends almost all the time.
She hands him a list of a bunch of things that his mother wanted for their dinner tonight and tomorrow, as well as some general things like shampoo and conditioner etc.
"Okay I'll be going now." he nodded while reading over the list.
"Thanks." His sister said with a smile which he patted her head, she was quite small by their families standard.
"Hey stop it! I asked you to stop." She moved her head away from the pat.
"And when do I listen? You've been asking for the past 2 years." He laughed as he walked away, leaving her pouting.
*** On the way to the general store. ***
His nice walk was cut short by a familiar note,

'What joy...' his face turned dark, eyes filled with intent to kill. 'I appreciate the options... however I've already made the choice.'
His bully.
The only one that continued to torment him even after high school.
The one who beat and mugged him several time.
One of the people who made his life hell was coming to assault him.
There was no choice to make...
It was a cold winter evening, falling snow was all around him.
He approached the street he got mugged by Ren several times, conveniently next to the store where Ren would go buy cigarettes and alcohol.
As soon as he reached the corner of the alley, as if Ren was waiting, a punch flew out directly heading toward Xale.
Xale saw this with his new perception and activated his ability.
Blurred, camouflaged, silent and fast, these were the characteristics of Xale's ability. It was one of the most terrifying stealth abilities known, [ Abyssal Steps ]
Xale dodged Ren's punch with ease as double speed was much more than the unenhanced agility of Ren. He counterattacked with a punch of his own to Ren's gut.
His punch was weak compared to Ren's body who had a D rank strength enhancing ability but it still took the wind out of him as he stepped back.
Xale deactivated his ability, he wanted to conserve energy and make Ren believe it could only be used in bursts.
"Ugh, wot the fuck... how." Ren grunted, it wasn't a powerful blow but just a well placed one, Xale was actually well practiced in martial arts due to his father's recommendation of practicing.
"You... you unlocked a new ability din't ya? Such talent is truly wasted on you." Ren frowned, he was a smart guy but had a delinquent complex, of course he caught on.
"Correct." Not wanting to humour him further.
"Even if ye did, it's still E rank. That's somin I'm sure of. You can't beat me, I'm goin ta make you suffer for defyin' me twice!" He roared as he activated his ability.
An oppressive aura exuded from him, his power increased. The features of Ren's ability were as so, spend mana to increase your physical power, this does not include his defences though so he shouldn't be as tough as steel.
Right now, two blows would seriously injure Xale, luckily his speed remains the same.
"Fine then, let's fight shall we?" Xale said while getting into a battle stance.
"Here I come little shit!!" Ren ran forward like a juggernaut, his oppressive aura was incredible, it made him seem bigger than he was, of course Xale was unaffected having seen it several times.
Ren jumped in the air, intending to drop kick his ass.
Xale activated his ability, once again becoming ridiculously hard to track.
"Behind you." He whispered to him in his ear before landing a kick of his own straight to his head.
Ren went crashing into the ground, with nothing but a crater in the floor as a victim.
"Fuck! What is that ability! I couldn't even follow your image." His shock got rid of his delinquent speech.
"You'll never know." He said while dashing to the man on the ground who was on his hands and knees, delivering a high speed kick toward the man's stomach.
Ren was knocked onto the ground again before desperately throwing a fist hitting nothing but the blur of Xale.
Ren started panicking, 'If I can't hit him, what will he do to me? Surely he won't kill me, even I didn't go that far.'
Unfortunately Xale was quite familiar with death, he's even considered it on multiple occasions. To him, if he was okay with dying then he could kill, simple as. In this world, People kill other people all the time, the more powerful rule over the weaker, if the weaker kills the stronger, he becomes the stronger.
Xale stomped on one of Ren's hands, crushing it beneath his shoe against the ground breaking bones in the process, on his face? A cruel smile.
"AAAGGHHHHH!!" Ren cried out in pain, with which he was unfamiliar, always used to coming out on top.
He used his other hand to swing over with immense force, hitting nothing but air, he didn't care as his goal was to get Xale's shoe off his broken hand.
This plan backfired as quickly as it had succeeded as his shoe came down at a high velocity again but on the good hand, grinding and crushing it into the ground.
"FFFFUUUUUCCKKKKKK!!" He now had no way to fight back apart from his legs, which he was not proficient in using.
'How does it feel, to be helpless against an enemy that you can't hope to even touch?' He didn't speak as he felt it was more painful to get tortured while the assailant was quite, just smiling at his prey.
Xale released a flurry of kicks and punches to the on-the-floor Ren, bloodying his body, breaking bones he had never felt before, cutting places that have never been cut before.
His face looked like it got hit by a freight train. His arms and legs were broken beyond repair. The only reason he was alive was due to his enhanced strength that increased his health.
"P-please s-stop." Ren spluttered blood with each letter he spat out.
"Say sorry." Xale said with a smirk.
"Ss-shorry." Ren spat out.
"I said say sorry! Not shorry!" He said while kicking him again.
"Ss-o-rr-y" He said slowly, which caused him great pain.
"Alright, I'll let you rest... forever." He laughed while stomping as hard as he could on Ren's neck, ending his life.
Today. In an alley next to a general store, Ren Okumura had perished to a rank F.

Xale deactivated his ability, returning to normal. He was focusing on what he had done, trying to grasp his feeling after killing somebody else. After a while he concluded... that he didn't care. 'Great, add calm killer to my list of problems.' Feeling it was funny, he laughed, hard. He felt immense joy after torturing and killing his most problematic bully.
'Ahhhh, suck a dick.' He put a middle finger up at the body as he activated the new system feature, [ Abyss Sacrifice Activated ]
A black smoke poured out of Xale's body shooting straight toward the corpse, devouring him even his clothes, even the blood splatters one Xale's clothes and around the area. 'Goodbye, Ren Okumura, I won't miss you.'
The smoke retracted back into Xale as he felt that he was being empowered with each second it was entering his body,

Xale was beaming with joy currently, invigored with strength and felt like he could punch a house and it would fall down, far from the truth but it was his first time feeling like this.
