"So, an Elvin Priestess has been born? Perfect! I was in need of a fitting gift for my King!" A man with blood red hair and black eyes sat in a seat raised high on a platform as tho he were a King himself. "Bring me my prize alive if possible but dead works just as well, just don't damage it's eyes or your head will roll."
The man smiles as he motions for a butler to step forward and offer a kneeling knight a large bag full of gold coins. The knights eye flash with endless greed as he accepts the gold. " Your wish is my command, Baron Mathus." The knight deeply bows once again as he backs out of the room and leaves to complete his task.
Baron Mathus stares thoughtfully after the knight before signaling behind him. A man suddenly appears beside him without making a sound and kneels next to him.
Once he has either the eyes or that thing alive, kill him and bring it to me." The man silently nods and disappears as tho he was never there to begin with.
With this I will surely be promoted to a Count! Tho..." He smiles lustfully at the thought of the elves faces twisted in despair at loosing their Priestess. "Maybe a few new slaves would be nice too."

I still don't understand what's going on or why but by daybreak everyone was ready to leave behind their homes to begin a long and dangerous journey. All I know is that our village is on the border of a vast Forest protected and loved by my people for longer then recorded history.
Mom tried to help everyone pack but the other villagers weren't having any of it. The Village Chief scolded her at one point saying that she just gave birth and shouldn't be doing any manual labor.
They even had a hand drawn cart pulled out and cushioned with many blankets for the two of us to sit on for the duration of the journey. Mom was of course against it at first but with Dad and everyone on the same page she eventually caved.
With mom and me safely on the cart two of the strongest Elves in the village began to pull the cart as we made our way deeper into the forest. As we moved the villagers surrounded us in a protective circle with villagers within the inner circle and the warriors on the outer circle.
Everyone was carrying a weapon ranging from sharp farm equipment, Kitchen ware, and real weapons. We moved a consistent rate not too slow but we weren't partially fast either.
There are many villagers, over 50 and while only 18 were real warriors it was obvious the other villagers were not push overs just because they weren't. As we traveled the other villagers would go out with their peculiar weapon choices and come back with food they had hunted in the forest.
I was so curious but was unable to say or do anything but babble, eat, poop, and sleep. My babbling would make mom and the villagers laugh. Then one day I noticed a little boy peeking at me from the side of the cart.
He looked like he was about eight years old but no doubt he was older as elves grow very slowly before they stop aging at all when they reach maturity. His eyes were the darkest grey silver color I had seen in the village as of yet.
I babble at him in my mother's arms to get both their attentions. My mother looks where I am and see the little boy. " Theo, would you like to see Yue up close." The boy nods and climbs into the cart with us.
He stare at me and reaches out to poke my cheek. I'm not a fan so I grab his finger and babble angrily at him. He freezes in place as tho moving would hurt me before breaking out into a huge smile. "Lady Akari, look she grabbed my hand!" He was practically vibrating in excitement.
My mother laughs at his antics. "Yes, I see that. Make sure you protect her little Theo. As the only other child in the village it's your duty to set an example for her until we reach the temple."
Theo smiles even wider and he nods his head, "Yes, I'll make sure to be really good!"
My mother nods at him smiling. "Would you like to hold her?" Theo's eyes get big as he nods his head really fast. "Then sit down in the corner, that's right now hold her like thing and always make sure to support her head."
My mother quickly shows him how to hold me. It wasn't comfortable but it made Theo really happy so I decided not to make a fuss. "Wow, she's so small." Theo whispers afraid that talking to loud would make me cry as his eyes stare with wonder at me.
"You're pretty great yourself, Theo." I try to say but of course it comes out as more babbling.
The journey continues until nightfall when everyone sets up camp of course with me and my family at the very center. With everyone winding down for the night I finally get to meet my other relatives for the first time.
I have an Aunt from my mother's side and Grandparents from my Father's side. I wondered where my mother's parents were but there was no way to ask so I guess I'll put that off for later.
My Aunts name is Mira and she was my mom's twin except for the fact she had more silver highlights in her hair then mom. My grandparents were very loving and looked no older then my parents. "How confusing." I thought to myself.
With all the attention I soon fell asleep and so did the other villagers exempt the warrior assigned watch, but nobody knew about the danger growing ever closer as they drifted off to sleep.
