Chapter 2 - Much Questions

After Kal woke up, he quickly got ready for the summoning ritual which was supposed to be held on the capital of the continent, Orex.

Every Lord who resided in, or near Orex was invited on the ritual. Kal was, unfortunately, one of the exceptions who resided far away from Orex and was still invited.

The reason was pretty simple.

"Power..."

'This damn church and their believers..... All they know is power and wealth. I can bet they would never have invited me into this mess if they were not worried for their security.'

Kal was also one of the rare humans who had mastered the power of a law. Kal's law was unique in its nature as were anyone else's, it was the Law of Condensation. A tricky law which allowed its user to condense any matter or energy to their will. Kal decided to study this law as he was born in the north, where the ever present ice was harsh.

It was a perfect environment for studying the Law of Frost, but it would limit him to a single element. Although Law of Condensation was a difficult law, it allowed him and his family to survive by condensing all the heat in the surrounding and not allowing them to escape.

Little did anyone know that Kal was a genius who alone researched the Law of Condense to such a degree that he received the title of a Lord.

Kal moved towards his hall room and opened a dimensional corridor leading to Orex.

A female receptionist was waiting near the dimensional door to welcome him and lead him towards the royal hall room, where the summoning was supposed to begin.

Unlike everyone else, Kal was led towards a seat near the front row, not because of how they respected him, but rather so he could intervene if something went wrong.

Everyone was talking about the possible future of mankind after this summoning. The Royal Healers, who knew the human body and mind like the back of their hand, had predicted one of the two possibilities from a summoned being.

One was, they would help them after hearing their worries or they would destroy mankind after knowing of its weakness.

To Kal, those possibilities were nothing more than old fossils trying to show how wise they were.

'If I had to take a guess on how I would react, it would be first finding the person who summoned me and then asking them to either send me back or die.'

Soon, the summoning time arrived and the Wardens took their position in the center of the hall. Some gasped in surprise identifying some of the most renowned wardens in the continent. Among them there was also the High Priest of the Royal Court, Galeon.

'Fuck! now this is troublesome.....'

It was said that the stronger the wardens, the stronger the creature summoned would be. And Kal had no wish to test his strength against a creature summoned by that powerful magic.

Summoning magic was supposed to be one of the lost Magic after the fall of the human race. Even before that, summoning magic was as rare as spotting a Unicorn under the rainbow with a pot filled with gold.

After the summoning started by the 10 wardens, all geniuses of their generation, the crowd fell silent.

Some expected to see an Ancient being emerge from the circle, some expected a Knight in shining armor, some wished to see an Angel. But reality begged to differ, what was summoned was a human, with not a shred of Law flowing through or around his body, devoid of any principles.

The crowd fell in an uproar, all had the same doubt in their mind about the strength of the human summoned.

The high priest though, had his eyes sparkling. He thought, 'Only a human would understand the problems of a human, thank the gods that no heartless monster was summoned and-'

His trail of thoughts were cut as the first wave of body refinement took place.

.....

Kal watched at the whole scene with horror in his eyes.

'How can a human without any law or principles survive this torture!? I swear if this was the work of those royals they can forget getting help from me again, this is beyond cruel, how can they treat someone they wish to seek help from like this!'

Kal had many questions in his mind, he looked at the wardens in rage but met only helpless gazes, the wardens tried to put a healing formation on the human who was summoned but discovered their magic was not working.

In fact, no one's magic was working. All the laws had been seeped inside one body, and that body was being torn apart and it regrew anew.

Some people panicked and tried to run away, but the pressure of the world principles around them kept them from moving, it was as if they were put under a heavy weight. Some fainted, others wet themselves, some started puking their guts out.

After 3 hours, very few people remained conscious, when they could move again, they sent for healers so they could treat the people and treat the symptoms of mana pressure.

Kal saw Galeon walk up to the man, even if he was scared, he had a duty for human kind to uphold.

"Welcome, young hero, I, the Royal High Priest of the Orex city, welcome you to our world. I know you might have many questions in your mind, but they can wait until we arrange everything for you."

The summoned human stared at Galeon blankly.

"Young hero, my name is....."

The summoned human moved a finger on his lips, silencing Galeon.

A quick hand moved towards Galeon's throat before anyone could notice and raised him up.

'There won't be the need for any names.' Rio thought, and proceeded to speak.

"I want my answers and now. Were you the one who brought me here ?"

Rio had many questions. Why was he here? What happened to his body just now? What was that blinding pain.... that torture? Were the people present here responsible?

But most of all, his body was brimming with strength, as if all the shackles of the world were removed from his body, as if, the body was not his anymore.

What felt to Rio pulling any other normal man up, was actually more than he realized.

Pulling a Law user like that was no joke, and also resisting the Magical Aura naturally emitted by Galeon at point blank range was something that would make even Kal's hands get few burn marks. And yet, Rio was unfazed from it, which greatly shocked Kal.

Then suddenly Rio felt weak, and dropped Galeon, who fell down ass first.

He touched his temples and felt dizzy. All the body refinement had left his body tired, and even though the world energy had supplemented for the nutrients needed to grow his body parts, a supplement was after all, a supplement, and he still needed to eat.

He fell unconscious and was caught in Kal's hands before he could touch the ground.

"We have a lot of things to talk about." Kal said, glaring at Galeon.

That day the world was saved from losing its most powerful experts due to the intervention of all mighty hunger.
