When they arrived in the airport ,they did the necessary check in procedure which didn't take too long as the king had already sorted out everything properly.
They were soon on their flight to London.Linda was having mixed feeling .Firstly ,she was very happy because this was her very first flight but on the other hand she was really scared and worried . Through out their flight prince Obi ignored her once again. Although she on her part didn't care but her heart kept on beating loudly that it felt like as of she could hear the sound. She wondered if prince Obi could hear the way her heart was beating because it felt very loud to her hearing .
She looked at the prince from the corner of her eyes and realized he was asleep . She didn't even want to face him and stare at him on his face for the fear that he might open his eyes and stare at her with those cold blue eyes of his. She decided to fall asleep also both couldn't because she was really bothered about everything she was passing through. She still didn't know how she will be able to stay in the same room with him and for a whole two weeks.
Soon, their was an announcement that they will soon be landing and everyone should use their seat belt. Linda used hers and when she turned to see if the prince had awoken ,she meet his cold eye glaring at her. She immediately turned her gaze else where.
When the plane landed, everyone came down . While Linda was being checked in, a white man beside her looked at her and said "Wow , you're really pretty. An African damsel " He smiled . Linda who didn't know what to do just smiled and said "Thank you" .She was quite aware of the fact that prince Obi was right behind her . He on his part behaved like he didn't heard what the white man said ,he just faced another place .
After all their passport had been verified,they boarded a taxi which took them to the place which the king had already informed the owner to reserve and prepare for them.
The taxi driver stopped in front of a huge and beautiful building. Linda was in awe as she read the name of the building."Mayfield Five Star Hotel". She couldn't believe this . She had read about this hotel when she was a little girl and had always wished to come here one day and now here she was in front of it ..the sight of the building was completely breathtaking. Even prince Obi was also in awe.
They took their luggage and went in . At the reception,
the receptionist asked them " Please, are you Mr and Mrs Obi " "Yeah ,we are " Prince Obi replied ."You're both welcome to Mayfield Five Star Hotel .Enjoy your two weeks vacation here." She said shaking their hands one after the other. She gave them the key to their room and told them the room number. They thanked her and went to their room.
When they found it ,prince Obi opened it and they were both welcomed into a very romantic atmosphere. The room was decorated just for a newly wedded couple. They both entered and he locked the door . Linda walked in slowly to survey the room it was absolutely beautiful. She knew that the designer must had but a lot of effort on this decorations but alas! it will all become a waste .
She walked inside the bedroom and saw that the bed was filled with red flowers with candle nlight by the side .She loved the way everything was . She kept her bag down and decided to go and freshen up. She got in to be welcomed again into a very big and beautiful bathroom . Everything about this hotel was just breathtaking.
She walked slowly into the bathtub and undressed. She entered in switched on the tap to warm water and relaxed in it. After all the day activities,she felt totally stressed out . She closed her eyes to enjoy the moment.
Prince Obi who was very famished when he got back,went to the kitchen in search of food to fill up his empty belly.
When he was done he looked around for Linda but didn't see her .Hearing some noises from the balcony he thought she was there relaxing. He was glad she was out of his sight. He decided to go in and take his bathe so that he could get some sleep . He entered the room and was also welcomed into the beautiful sight . He didn't even care as he undressed and tied a towel around his waist .
He opened the bathroom door and shot it then walked straight to the shower to have his bath. Linda was startled when she had the tap of the shower running. While relaxing in the bathtub,she had fallen asleep only to be woken by the sound of a running tap. She turned her head slowly and was shocked by what she saw. The prince who didn't know what was happening was already showering.
Linda screamed from the bathtub which made the prince turn around and saw her. He quickly used his towel to cover himself up.
" Couldn't you wait for me to be done before you can enter? Are you this shameless? " Linda shouted at him. "How was I supposed to know that you are here ? When you're busy sneaking around the house" He shouted back at her.
" So am the one sneaking around now,right? were you blind when you entered here?" She fired back at him with anger ." Hey you mind the way you speak to me ..or else " Prince Obi told her with burning fury.
She decided not to reply again and backed him. They both became silence and spoke no more. Prince Obi was done first and angrily stormed out of the bathroom.
By the time Linda was done ,the prince was already asleep . She wasn't even ready to share bed with him and she took one of the pillow and bed cover and went to sleep in the sitting room on the couch.
The next day, prince Obi was awoken by the rays of the sun shinning through the window and into the room. He stretched and yawned hungrily. He got up and went out of the room. He met Linda still asleep . He unconsciously stared at her face and his heart skipped ." What's all this now" He asked no one in particular.
Linda opened her eyes when she heard his voice."Good morning" She greeted him but he gave her no reply and was walking out of the room when Linda said " Why ain't you replying to me? That's very rude ? she got up to enter the bedroom but was stopped by the words of the prince" And who told you I need your useless greeting? Will that do me any good than to hear that your annoying voice. Stop greeting me I don't need".
She turned to face him now feeling very offended " What sort of human being are ? You're so bitter in the heart. I don't know what sin I had committed that God decided to punish me by bringing you into my life " She fired back at him. Prince Obi could no longer take this as he walked towards her with great speed and burning fury .She tried to move away from him before he harmed her but was stopped by the wall behind her and the prince stood in front of trapping her between him and the wall.
He was so close to her that she could feel his hot breath on her skin and she became suddenly scared and closed her eyes . The prince couldn't say what he wanted to say anymore as he felt a great force stopping him . He left her and went into the bathroom. Linda then opened her eyes she couldn't understand what just happened. She thought the prince had wanted to hit her with the force he used and charge toward her. She just slid from the wall slowly and to the ground. She felt like just crying and giving up on all the hopes she had been holding onto for a long time.
She heard the door to the bathroom open and soon the prince came out from the room, without uttering anything to her he left the hotel room and banged the door behind him.
Linda sat on the floor for a while before she decided to take her bath. When she was done ,she sat down on the chair facing the mirror to look at her face and seeing the way she appeared so miserable didn't make her happy at all. After staring at her self in the mirror for what seems like age ,she made a up her mind with a decision right there and then " I won't give in to all of his insult anymore. I will try not to mind him and I will try to enjoy myself and make my stay here memorable" she concluded and started by smiling so broadly.
She started by adding some touch of makeup to her face ,then she looked for one of those her dresses that whenever she wears it ,it will catch the eyes of whoever she was passing by infact it was a fashion killer. After dressing up she looked at herself and complimented her self with a smile "You're looking absolutely adorable" She took her purse and went down to have breakfast.
As she left her room and walked down all eyes that meet her were in awe.. they stopped to gaze at her beauty.Indeed she was a stunning. As she was coming down from the step ,all those who were eating all looked up to stare at her.Prince Obi ,after he had left the room had came down to have breakfast. He was eating when he heard people talking and were staring at something. He became curious and turned to see what they were staring at. His eyes almost popped out of their socket when he saw her. He couldn't believe that this was the same Linda he knew .She walked passed him and went over to the counter and ordered for food.
Prince Obi just kept on staring at her ,he was totally lost in her beauty . When he regained his senses ,he looked around and saw that most of the men there were staring at her. He didn't know why but he felt really uncomfortable with that ,even though he pretended like as if he didn't care . She came over to him and sat down opposite him . "Hello " she said smiling. That was the first time he saw her smiling and she looked absolutely pretty ,the prince thought. Linda couldn't understand why prince Obi was looking at her like that . She pretended not to notice .
"Oh, what am I doing?" the prince asked himself. He shifted closer to her and said in a whisper "What do you think you're doing" .
Linda did as if she was shocked by the question and and said " Am just trying to be happy,since you're just bent on making me sad at all time and I don't think there's anything wrong with what am doing" she smiled at him again.
Prince Obi just shook his head ,he just can't understand this woman,she was just so unpredictable. Soon the waiter brought the food she ordered for . Prince Obi looked at all the food lined up in front of Linda and asked her in disbelief" All this food you ordered for ,can you consume them all and who is going to pay for it"
Linda who had already started eating answered him in between mouth full of food "Of course I can finish the whole food ,you made me go to bed last night without food so am really hungry and anyway as for the payment you don't have to worry about it. My husband will make all the payment."
"What is this woman saying " Prince Obi asked himself,since he didn't want any drama to be unfolded that morning,he just kept quite and continued eating, with alot of questions on his mind.
Linda didn't even mind ,now she has control over her life and she wouldn't give anyone permission to make her cry anymore not even this her so called husband..
