Chapter 1 - Chapter One. Lovely.

The clouds suddenly became darker and everywhere looked gloomy. The trees could be seen bowing down in salute to the whispering winds.

Everyone was running helter skelter trying to find a shed for their selves because of the signal coming from the weather as it was giving everyone a sign of its impending downpour, before the floodgates of heaven were opened.

Children could be seen playing and running all about while chasing each other. Looking at them one will wonder whether they are not aware of what's going on around them because of their carefree attitude.

Well that's children for you. They have this mindset that they don't have to worry because everything will be taken care of... by who? I had always wondered.

Even though I was just like a child like every other children around me. I never felt like one neither do I behave like one. While others are playing and parents running around to get their little ones to protect them .. mine was the reversal of the case.

Yep! I was the one calling on to my siblings to get in because I wouldn't want anyone shouting at me. After successfully gathering my five siblings I went to a corner and squeezed myself just to be left alone and wait for the arrival of our parents.

Looking at me one might think I was the oldest child the way I take up responsibilities but I was actually the third born out of the five children my parents have.

Growing up I had learnt at an early age to take care of others and care for them more than myself. I could go to any length protecting others than protecting myself and I felt that it was the right thing to do.

While still waiting for our parents arrival , my other siblings slept of but I couldn't sleep because I knew that I had to watch over them.

I felt that it was my duty and responsibility to do that and luckily my parents arrived home soon, both dripping wet as a result of the heavy downpour of rain outside.

I immediately stood up to welcome them when I saw someone else come in. It was Franklin, my mum's younger brother. Well, am not the type that associates with people alot even though he's my cousin I knew nothing about him.

My mum went in to change her dress and came back a few minutes later . She looked at me and asked why I haven't slept I just smiled and shook my head. I was a person of few words and my mum didn't bother to question me further . "Franklin will spend some days with us her. .. Grandpa is not around" mum said. I nodded and decided to go have some rest cause I was really tired.

As I stood up I could see Franklin from the corner of my eye starring at me and smiling. I didn't like that because it made me feel uncomfortable but naturally I am a shy person.

I went to the room I share with my younger siblings ,climbed my bed and soon I was in dream land..
