Coiling Cradle Street, in the office of Fortune Telling Detective Agency. The Everglowing lamp lighted up the entire room. Master's face was clearly visible except his long hair covering his eyes.
No one was present in the room but Master suddenly smiled. The door opened and a figure walked into the room. A velvet cloth decorated with flowers covered the figure's face up to the nose.
"I didn't think you would come so I called someone else, Trace is downstairs," Master pointed to the door.
Eimi looked towards door and squinted her eyes, she looked toward the person who was wearing the same upper as Trace but with a highneck stretching up to the chin and hair flowing down his head.
Without saying anything, Eimi walked towards the door and headed downstairs. A weird feeling carried her directly towards Trace's room. Just as she opened the door, the face of Trace laying on the bed with eyes closed was seen.
Eimi felt like a needle pierced her heart. A similar scene was what she had been seeing everyday for more than two months now. Tears veiled up her eyes when she thought Trace's condition was same as that of her mother.
But the tears froze just as Eimi entered the room. She saw a girl with pink hair sitting at the side, holding a book. The girl wore a short skirt and her bare long her were on Trace's bed.
Did she take care of Trace for the past six years? Eimi thought of what Master said to her. An uncanny feeling erupted from her stomach as she walked close to the bed. Her eyes did not leave the girl as if they were carving her figure into their memory.
Just as Eimi reached towards Trace's side, the girl gently poked Trace's blanket with her legs. Eimi's pain was slowly turning into burning rage. She was hoping to see Trace alone but everything went downhill after meeting the Master.
"Who are you," Eimi couldn't help but grit her teeth.
The voice was low but the pink hair heard it, she looked up only to find a girl sitting on the other side Trace. The book in her hands was shut close. A standoff began between the two girl.
They stared at each other for long but no words were spoken. The pink hair girl forced her legs inside Trace's blanket. To this response, Eimi slide her hand inside the sheets and held Trace's hand.
At the same time, the two suddenly turned away from each other as if not wanting the menace in their vision anymore. The room remained silent until sounds of rushed footsteps entered from outside.
The door was violently opened but noiselessly. Another pink haired girl was standing on the door. The words that left her mouth made the two girls sitting inside the room feel like coughing blood.
"Sister, I am here to save your chastity."
…
Eimi felt something was off, she looked at the siblings and waves of doubts emerged in her mind. What was this pink haired girl going to do with Trace. How did they even know each other. Lots of questions emerged in Eimi's mind but she decided to take the wait and see approach.
"Drink it sister, don't even waste one drop," Rae said in her monotonous voice.
She handed a tumbler to Noelle. It was silver in color with golden rings around it. After handing it over, Rae looked towards the other person sitting beside Trace. She seized up the person and saw the hand going under the blanket.
Eimi also looked at the person in front of her. She jerked her head towards the side to show disapproval. Both the sisters were a menace in her eyes. After showing the gesture, she looked towards Trace and her eyes turned soft.
"Who are you?" Rae asked.
When Eimi did not answer her, she sat on Noelle's legs and also looked at Trace. How could this be the boy who beat up a Level 2 Sorcerer of the SJD. For the past few days, she pondered over the same things after seeing the bedridden Trace. Over this period, she also asked to her grandpa if the story was true.
Three days ago, a letter arrived at the Lynn mansion. It was directly brought over to Noelle who was reading near the lake. Rae also saw the letter being passed down to her sister.
Rae wanted to directly snatch the letter from Noelle but did not. She decided to trail her elder sister but was unable. So she went to the fortune teller hoping to get a successful divination. On reaching the Coiling Cradle Street, she saw her sister's carriage instead.
Looking around, Rae's eye fell on the raised blanket. Her sister's foot was inside the blanket and the girl in front had her hand inside the blanket. A thought emerged in her mind. One by one she looked at each person present in the room.
"You are burning hot for his guy," Rae raised her monotonous voice. "Do you know that my sister used to go out with him."
About an year ago, Rae wanted to know who was the person that her sister used to go out with. Now, the more she thought about it, the more clearer it became. It was the person lying in front of her. Last month she had followed Noelle to this place and again her sister had coming running for this 'Trace'.
Eimi felt a shock on hearing it, she didn't believe it. She wished, she didn't heard it either. Her hand around Trace's hand tightened.
Noelle coughed out some tea on hearing it. She looked at her sister then at the girl sitting on the other side. What was her sister talking about all of a sudden?
"I like that face, I want more," Rae stood up and looked at the two girls present and smiled.
She liked that both of the girls were looking at her now. They were waiting for the next words in anticipation. Especially Noelle, who hasn't talked with Rae for more than three years now.
"You know what my sister did with him. So I will tell you a secret about her," Rae looked deeply at her sister.
"I will tell her the secret," Rae threatened again.
Noelle was agitated at first but her face turned to normal again. She had made up her mind regarding this. It would be a loess for her but it was alright.
"My sister is actually a guy," Rae said.
Eimi and Noelle looked at each other in shock. It was as if they couldn't believe it. It was as if a heavy object had lifted up from Eimi's heart. She no longer bothered with the big sister instead focused her attention on the little one.
"Are you telling the truth?" Eimi asked.
"Your suspicions hurt so deep inside," Rae turned her head toward her sister. "Does Trace know you are a guy? Speak up the truth already."
Noelle dumbfoundedly stared at her younger sister. No words left her mouth, no gestures were made. Her mood visibly worsened. She sadly looked towards Trace.
When Rae saw this, her face also washed away from all the joy. Her bright smile vanished in an instant and she walked out of the room. Not looking back at the girl who silently watched her leave.
