It was therefore inscribed in the history books that a mystical creature rumoured to be Death had dropped a curse deep in the middle of the earth. The curse was said by so many to be a balance scale that held two orbs. The right orb on the left hand of the scale which was black in colour as well as the left orb on the right side of the scale, which was White in Colour.
Death's incarnate form had been defied, his presence was tried to be subdued by humans. This however angered and prompted the being to initiate a precarious curse.
So whomever consciously or unconsciously chose the path of the white orb will aid the orb in outweighing the Black orb. The same applies for the Black orb.
After a certain amount of time known to only few individuals, Death promised to return to aid the Forces behind the orb that out weighed the other. The outweighed orb will be taken out of the scale and crushed along side the Forces behind the orb.
But if both Orbs were to weigh evenly then Death would break the balance scale thereby nullifying the curse.
In homes the last part about the Orbs weighing evenly were strictly disregarded due to the fact that no one believed it possible for Good and Evil to unite. But instead they paid more emphasis on the example of the White Orb out weighing the Black orb so as to deviate their children from following the path of the Black orb which they thought is Evil.
That day on the 12th of June many had seen the incarnate form of Death but only few knew what Death had brought on Earth, Yes only few heard the words emitted from Death's mouth.
Many said it was nothing but a legend from Omi city that recently got recognition. A lot of things were said about the so called legend of Death and the Balance Scale. But only few knew the real details and the implications of what really happened that night.
***
Rays of sunshine fought through the window coverings to reveal someone arched on a bed. It's Roy. He opened his eyes and his dilating pupils immediately retracted; his eyes had collided with rays coming from the window.
Roy gave his head a deep thrust on the pillow so as to dodge the rays while he checked the time on the alarm clock. Thank goodness he had turned the alarm clock towards his direction before he fell asleep last night. It's 8:14 am his left eye strained to see it. He released the stress on the pillow and slept again.
His eyes opened, his gaze were fixed towards the ceiling, he wondered how he changed direction without groaning or feeling any pain, well he decided it was because he had a deep sleep. He thought he would scream while trying to get up from the bed.
Roy was bare from head to waist. He managed to sit up with his legs on the floor, he bent his back in a kind of pleasurable frustration in order to check mate the state of his back pain. He grind his teeth as he now felt the pain more than ever.
Roy had no ordinary back pain, his back seemed to be pregnant with swelled veins, the veins grew upwards like a poll. The smaller ones growing from the right while the bigger ones grew from the left side of his back. The left veins seemed to scramble for space and light like weeds in the field, and to worsen it all, the veins pumped harder than his heart.
As expected he didn't sleep much, did he? the time was just 9:30am. He always left the clock on the stool nearest to the lamp table so as not to get himself worked up while trying to shut up the annoying alarm. The sound always annoyed him but this time it didn't sound although it was set for 9am. Roy will have to sort that out later. He went towards the bathroom, carefully swaying his somewhat of a cursed body.
Roy spent most of the day doing nothing but eating and trying to overcome his woes. The afternoon was pretty boring for him, no one to talk to. All he could do was stare at himself on the mirror. While the evening came with the normal painful ocular menstruation which he managed to overcome before engaging in some freelancing activity on the Internet with his laptop. He also opted for some Python programming lessons, but he sucked at getting the hang of it.
Noticing the time on the clock— it was 8:02pm. Roy quickly took a Cold shower and wore a loosely fitted long sleeve shirt that allowed in enough room for air to compliment the discomfort he felt at his back.
Roy walked past several streets, heading to an obviously tall building half way under construction. He had grown accustomed to the building after he rented a house in Omi city. He loved heights and the height of the building was the best to get a view at the stars at night. There he would have all the time in the world to think about himself in peace Alone. He was approaching 19 years and had completed all necessary school examination while waiting for an admission into the Aaron's Plumix— a private school like organisation like that of the DS org, but in this case like a paramilitary with different sections. The Organization which is also a school, advices young scholars with extraordinary abilities to come stabilize their abilities while they pursue their various goals.
He finally reached the building, making sure no one noticed him, he began walking up the stairs that led to the highest floor of the building. Reaching the highest floor, he noticed someone, the person sat at the far end of the floor. He thought he was the only one that came here, the only one who knew about this spot.
Oops! it's a girl! well dressed, if not a year younger or older than him. But it didn't seem like she came to relax and stare at the stars, it was something else. From the words she mumbled and her sobs, Roy could smell suicide in the air, yeah another suicide news on it's way to fill the headlines.
Just to make sure he wasn't assuming things he decided to walk quietly towards the girl and the first step he took with his right foot stepped on something— A piece of paper. He wanted to continue moving but after a second thought he took the piece of paper and how surprising! The paper had the spelt out intentions of a suicidal girl who has decided to fall of a building and sleep forever blah blah blah.
That made sense, the girls name written on the paper is Maya. Of course Roy could tell it's the girl at the end of the floor.
Now Roy stood behind her unnoticed and he could hear her clearly now.
" I tried to live... but am too tired to survive..." she sobbed.
Roy stood behind still unnoticed.
This time her voice was engrossed in sorrow as she cried in tears.
"I tried, i tried!! I tried to live... but am too tired to survive..."
Did Roy feel her empathy? Do Roy understand her feeling? Is Roy going to talk her out? Is Roy going to stop her? Is Roy going to console her? Will he offer a helping hand?
Well... NO!!
Instead Roy pushed her with his right foot and she fell off the building. Roy decided to wait and watch if she was going to scream for help, but no. This one's mind is made up and he couldn't just let anyone ruin his Monday night by turning this building to a restricted area to only police and other report agencies, there by restricting him from having his routine relaxation.
The building was so high that it would take some long time before anyone could reach the ground.
She spread her hands in embrace for her death; that was proof enough that she intends to die. Roy quickly followed her by jumping downwards. He thrust his hands into his pocket as he used his elbows as friction on the wall in order to slow down with the hope that she might have a change of mind.
She was getting close to the ground and Roy saw no signs of change of mind or heart. Roy has pupils that shifts or teleports him to wherever he looks. With such an ability Roy quickly focused his eyes on her and in an instant she was in his arms.
And just some few seconds before they could both collapse on the ground, Roy changed the focus of his sight to another part of the ground near the building. And again in an instant he stood on the ground with the girl still in his arms like they were never falling from a building.
Roy took the piece of paper and gave it to her.
"If you wish to commit suicide, fufill the wish somewhere else." he said to her hearing.
"You tried to kill me and then you saved me... am really thankful. My name is Maya, at least tell me yours?" she cried.
"You don't need to know my name." Roy replied as he began walking away.
"Please!!!" she cried even more.
Roy stood still, before saying his name over his shoulder.
"Tsunami Roy..." he walked away.
