A day after they entered the New World, Sin finally woke up from his nap, and he was met with anxious looks from the crew when he arrived in the control room.
"Out of food?" He guessed.
"Yes," Shachi answered, and as if on cue, his stomach loudly grumbled.
"Yamato ate everything and went to sleep yesterday," Penguin grumpily informed him. "We also need to give some rest to the Submarine. And I need some rest too. Steering it in New World is a nightmare." He tiredly said, and Sin could clearly see the bags under his eyes.
"Let's stop then." He told them. "Ascend to the surface."
"Aye, Captain!" Penguin immediately complied with his command.
A few minutes later, all of them, including Yamato, who had woken up from her nap, came out on the deck.
They all inhaled the sea breeze, which refreshed them a little, and Sin told Shachi and Penguin to get some sleep whilst they figured out their next destination.
The two boys happily accepted his command and left for their room to rest, leaving Sin, Yamato, and Wolf on the deck.
"How long will it take for the Log Pose to select a destination?" Yamato curiously asked as she watched the New World Log Pose that she was now wearing on her wrist.
She had found it in Sin's coat when she came to sleep in his room yesterday. And this Log Pose was something she had always wanted to wear and use as it was an essential tool for a sea-voyage on the Grandline, and a sign that you were a seafarer. A sign of Freedom in her eyes.
"Never."
She curiously looked at him after she heard his words, and watched him smiling at her.
"You need to be on an Island to set the Log Pose to the Magnetic Field of another Island..." He explained to her how Log Pose worked, and Wolf too attentively listened to his explanation.
"So, what are we going to do?" The old man asked.
"I will go search for an Island." He told them and then disappeared into the sky with a bolt of lightning.
"How convenient." The old man stared at the sky for a few minutes before he mused, and soon as he chuckled, he heard a zap and Sin was by their side again.
"Found one. It is only a hundred miles away." He grinned at them, and they both amazedly looked at him. "How fast can it move on the surface?"
"With the motors and propellers, it can go upto 50 knots. And 15 Knots on sails..." The old man told him what they Submarine was capable of now.
"No rush. Let's move at a speed that won't disturb the two of them. They can catch their sleep before we reach the Island."
"Good." Wolf nodded to him, and with the help of Sin, he set the sails and took the helm, steering towards their destination.
It took them over 5 hours to finally reach the Island, and Yamato excitedly smiled as she looked at the heavily forested Island with very tall trees that resembled brocoli.
"What Island is this?"
"Broc Coli Island. Not kididng." He replied, and he could not help his chuckles when her intoxicating laugh entered his ears. "It's a famous place in the New World, a Pirate and Slavers Haven, and it only has two cities on it, Humbsbay City and the Arrow City, and they control the Eastern and Western halves of the Island. The cities don't get along well with each other, and they have waged several wars over the years to gain control of all of the Island, but so far, neither side has succeeded."
"Where will we be having lunch?" Yamamto asked with a grin.
"Your pick."
"Arrow City." She replied, and he nodded to her.
Under Sin's instruction, Wolf anchored the Submarine on the uninhabited side of the Island, away from the Port City of Arrow, before they all stepped on the ground.
"Will it be safe here?" Penguin, who was still a little sleepy, curiously asked as they followed Sin.
"Yes." He nodded, and none of them raised the question again.
"Why not anchor at the port?" Shachi, however, had a different question on his mind. "I doubt Pirates would bother you."
"There is a Marine Base on the Island." He smiled as he looked at the boy. "We were sighted in North Blue a few days ago, and if we show up in the ship, it will catch their interest. After all, a normal ship is not suposoed to make it this far in just a few days. Even the special ones can't do it."
"Oh..."
Their group had to walk for nearly an hour before they reached the Arrow City, and though they were expecting a commotion at Sin's presence, they were not expecting that it would be for an entirely different reason.
"What's going on here?" Sin asked the guard at the City Gate, who was very nervous right now.
"Someone stole all the food from City Lord's Palace, and the Guards are now searching for the culprit." He gulped and answered.
"Interesting." He smiled and then walked inside the city.
The Citizens were not as alarmed by his presence as one might expect, and it meant that they were used to seeing some very big shots on their streets.
However, the Pirates wisely escaped as soon as they saw him or heard about his presence in the city. Who in the right mind would stay when the bloodthirsty Devil was there to take their lives?
In a matter of minutes, by the time Sin chose a restaurant, more than half of the Pirate Vessels on the port had started sailing away, and the rest were planning on doing the same as they hurried towards their ships.
To make things more fun, he deliberately created some thunderclaps in the sky, which was as clear as it could be, and this scared the life out of some people.
Yamato laughed as she enjoyed the show, hearing all the terrified voices of the Pirates and Slavers in her mind, but then she suddenly stopped and rushed out of the restaurant.
"Where is she going?" Shachi curiously asked, and Sin slowly stood up.
"Order everything on the menu. I will go get her." He told them before he slowly started walking out of the restaurant.
Several streets away, near the Slums, a certain group of Pirates and Slavers was ambushed by an Oni-Girl, who smashed them with her Kanabos without any mercy.
"Monster!"
A skinny man, which was wearing a gold ring on each of his fingers, turned pale with fight when he met Yamato's eyes, and he subconsciously reached for the pistol on his waist and put his on the temple of the child whom he had just stolen from its beggar mother's bosom.
"Don't come close or I will shoot the kid." He threatened, somehow able to make out that the reason why this girl had attacked them was because he had stolen this child from its mother. "Shut up!" He angrily bellowed when he heard the cries of the woman who was still begging him to not take her child away, and seeing that the pistol was pointed at the head of her beautiful boy, she did become quiet.
Yamato eyes turned colder when she saw the blood on the woman's face, and when she looked at the Slaver again, the man simply froze in fear and let go of the child, who ran straight to his mother.
Those who watched what happened next winced as they turned their eyes away, but in their minds, the scene where the Kanabo had landed on the man's head and burst it open like a watermelon was now on repeat.
"Thank you." The woman, whom she had just saved and returned her child to, gratefully said to her, and Yamato smiled at her before she turned around and met Sin's eyes, who was siting on a rooftop and had watched everything that happened there.
"Good job." He smiled at her.
"I am hungry!" She told him before she started walking towards the restaurant.
Sin glanced at the pair of mother and child before he disappeared from his place, and a second later the woman heard the sound a few coins hitting the ground near her.
Her eyes widened when she saw three gold coins right by her side, and she looked around to see who had dropped them, but found no one even looking her way.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she quickly picked them up and then ran from the place, carrying her child in her arms.
Whilst the Blackstar Crew were having their lunch inside the restaurant, an interesting piece of news reached their ears.
Someone had looted the Pantry in the City Palace of the Humbsbay City as well, and it roused all of their curiosity.
"How?" Penguin was seriously confused about how someone or a group could steal away the food from both the Arrow City and the Humbsbay City without being spotted by anyone.
Sin was curious too, and he briefly closed his eyes to look at all the Aura Signatures on the Island, and then located the strongest of them all.
His brows furrowed as he picked up on a very interesting signature on the northern beach.
"Found them?" Yamato guessed from his expression, and continued eating her meal as she looked at him.
"Yes." He nodded to her. "Let's finish the meal fast. And then I will take you to the location." He told her before looking at Shachi, Penguin, and Wolf. "You will gather the supplies and move to the center of the Island. I will pick you up from there."
"Aye, Captain!" The two boys happily nodded their heads.
