Selina and Jeffrey looked at each other. It's been a long time since they last spent so much time together under the same roof. They exchanged glances, and Jeffrey said, "Emma, I think I made a mistake in one of my forms. I don't know how to fix it. Can you help me?"
"What form?"
"It's my company's financial statement. I think I might have filled in the wrong column."
"No problem." I knew he was testing me. "Just bring it over."
Jeffrey got up, grabbed the computer, and showed me the form. He'd filled in some wrong columns and it only took me two minutes to solve the problem.
Jeffrey looked, then asked me again, "You're really going to work?"
"Yes, Dad," I replied firmly. "Mom, please give me the keys."
Selina was reluctant, but after some thought, she got up and gave me her car keys.
I gave them a hug before I left the house to reassure them, then went downstairs and drove away.
