Walking down the tunnel felt quite a bit strange to me, if I was not going to lie to my self either, as I had quite a bit of a blank look on my face, as it felt like that was due to a lot of reasons, all at the exact same time as well.
One of those reasons was the fact that I did not want to look weak to the rest of the team, as I knew damn well that there was going to be a lot of scouts there, which had in fact been bothering me all day, as I really did not like to be under so much pressure never the less.
I was fairly decent under pressure, so that was not really the problem, but it did in fact give me a lot of anxiety, such as the anxiety that I had not all too long ago, when I had been so worried about the fact that my girl, Kimberly, might say no to the fact that I had proposed to her in front of the entire school.
I still felt like she might have just said yes, simply due to the fact that she just did not want to embarrass me in front of the whole school, but at the exact same time as well, I knew that I should not think that way either, as I knew that she did in fact love me, as I loved her back never the less, and I knew that our love was real, and that there should not be all too much that I should be worried about right at this very moment in time never the less.
I knew that was all besides the point any ways, and I knew that I needed to have my focus on the practice, or rather the scrimmage that we were about to play in front of the scouts, as I knew all of the eyes were going to be on me practically, as there was only a few other people ranked on my team, and none of them were even near the top 500, such as I was, never the less. I blinked my eyes a few times, as I then breathed in quite a bit heavily to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I did my best to try to stay calm, and to relax my self.
I saw that a bunch of the players that were on my offense, that I knew that me and Ray were the team captains of never the less, all at the exact same time as well, did not seem to have any where near the same look of worry on their face such as I had. No, the look that they had on their faces seemed to be quite a bit of an excited look, as it was clear that they were ready, and that they were excited for just what it was that was ahead of us.
I wished that I could think the same way as them right now, as I knew that I should be excited for this, as I did in fact love football, but at the exact same time as well, I also knew that if I wanted to make football my full time job for the future, than it meant that I had to take it all seriously, as I knew that this was not some thing to be joking around with at all.
I nodded a bit to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I then all of the sudden looked back at the assistant coach, all at the exact same time as well, who I saw was rolling his eyes at us right now. I was not sure as to just why it was that he would in fact be rolling his eyes at us right now, as it almost kind of seemed like he might not be all too happy that we were happy, and that we were excited for this new and upcoming season, all at the exact same time as well.
I sighed a bit to my self, as I rolled my eyes a bit my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I was glad that he had not noticed it at all, as I knew that if I was going to be for real with my self, the real reason as to just why it was that he was rolling his eyes, was due to the fact that he was the defensive coach, and he probably was not all too happy to see that his defense was not out there like we were, and that they were not excited for the upcoming season, such as we were never the less.
I felt a bit bad for him at first, even though I knew that he was not the best defensive coach ever either, and he easily a lot of the times let teams score 40 or more points on us. Though I suppose that happened a lot of high school football, so I knew that I could not put all too much blame on him, all at the exact same time as well either.
The head coach was the one that I felt like I should blame for all of the bad things on this team, as I knew that he was an awful coach, and I knew that I was not simply just saying that, just due to the fact that the middle school coach that I had, was one of the best coaches I think that I had ever met, as he not only helped train the players, but he boosted the more of them as well.
I felt like he would be at least a good trainer at a pro level, but at the exact same time too, I also knew that was not the only reason that I thought that he was an amazing coach, as I also knew that a lot of it had to do with the fact that he was amazing at play calling, all at the exact same time as well, as that was what it was that usually won us the games, all at the exact same time too.
But sadly, the man I was fairly certain was never going to go after some thing such as that, which I felt like had a lot to do with the fact that he just loved to teach kids, as I knew that he and my father were good friends, as they typically worked in the same grade that entire time that I had used to live in Arizona.
I sighed a bit to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I got my focus off of all of those thoughts, all at the exact same time as well, as I knew that it was all besides the point right at this very moment in time, as I then all of the sudden began to notice, all at the exact same time as well, that it was one of many things.
One of those things that I noticed, was the fact that I had let the entire offense go ahead of me, and that I was left a bit far back behind, but the main thing that got my focus on just what it was that I had been looking at in the very first place, was the fact that the defensive coach, not only did he have his head turned away from us, but at the exact same time as well, I saw that he had a big smile on his face.
I tilted my head at first, as I was not all too sure as to just what it was that was going on at first, as I stated right at him for quite a bit of some time, until it all of the sudden hit me as to just what it was that was even going on in the very first place any ways, which was due to the fact that there was oh so much noise going on from further down the tunnel right now.
The smile that he had on his face, was due to the fact that it was clear that the defense had now all of the sudden came out of the locker room, and it was clear that the defense was hyped up for the new season, all at the exact same time too, as I rolled my eyes just a little bit to my self, as I did my best to get the focus of the thoughts of the fact that they were awful, from out of my head.
Maybe they would be better this year, as I knew that I would have to keep some hope on it, as I knew that I did in fact play corner a lot of the games, all at the exact same time as well, never the less. I blinked my eyes a few times, as I then shook off all of those thoughts from my head all at once, as I knew that I needed to catch up with the offense who had now gone a fair bit ahead of me, all at the exact same time as well.
I blinked my eyes a few times, as I then all of the sudden nodded to my self all at once, as I heard the defense coming up on me, and I heard the yells of the defense all at the exact same time as well, as it was the same thing that they did ever year 'who are we?'
Then shortly after that I would hear them yell 'We are the surf!' Which they did in fact do right after I had just thought of it, which there was no reason to change it, all at the exact same time as well, as I knew that who ever had thought of what to say at the end was a genius, as I then all of the sudden began to listen as to just what it was that they were even yelling at the end, all at the exact same time as well, none the less.
'We are waves! We roar!' I heard them all yelling, as I then began to hear their cleats begin to start to stomp over to just where it was that I was even at right at this very moment in time, as I then all of the sudden began to wake my self up, all at the exact same time as well, as I got my focus off of all of the other thoughts that I might have been having not all too long before now.
I then for real nodded to my self, as I knew just what it was that I should even be doing right at this very moment in time, which was the fact that I knew that I needed to catch up to my offense right now, which I could see that they were quite a bit ahead of me, right at this very moment in time as well, as I sighed a bit to my self, and I began to start to sprint down the tunnel all of the sudden, that way I could catch up with Ray and the others.
I saw the door opening from not all too far away, all at the exact same time as well, as I then got my focus on the fact that I knew that I needed to get out there, and I knew that I needed to lead my team on to the field, all at the exact same time too, none the less.
I was the leader of the team after all, as I knew that was not the fact of me just being a bit over the top with my self, as I knew that the coach had assigned me to be the leader of the team, all at the exact same time too. I blinked my eyes a few times, as I had quite a bit of a blank look on my face right at this very moment in time.
I ran past the offensive linemen who were furthest in the back, who I saw had not quite gone threw the front doors, that had lit up the hall way, all at the exact same time as well, as the tunnel had been quite a bit dark all at the exact same time as well, as it was always that way, as the coach said that he did that to dim the mood of the other team.
I felt like it had always been that way how ever, and it had nothing to do with the decision that the coach had made at all, all at the exact same time as well, as I rolled my eyes a bit to my self, as I felt like he should think of what it would do to his own team, especially when we were playing a top tier team, all at the exact same time as well.
I blinked my eyes a few times how ever, all at the exact same time as well, as once I was at the front of the offense, I then all of the sudden saw the head coach right in front of me, right at this very moment in time, as he had a big smile on his face.
I also saw that he was staring right at me, all at the exact same time too, as I knew that he was excited to see me, due to the fact that I was the star athlete on the team, all at the exact same time too, and I knew that he always seemed to remind me that 'you are the reason that I have not been fired'.
I felt like he was joking about that a lot of the time, which it kind of got on my nerves at this point, as to the fact as to how often it was that he seemed to tell me that, but at the exact same time too, I also remembered that he was an awful head coach, all at the exact same time too, and I knew that he would most likely get fired if he did not have a star athlete such as me on the team, all at the exact same time too.
I rolled my eyes a bit to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I instead got my focus on some thing that was completely different than all of that, all at the exact same time as well, which was the fact that he just so happened to be speaking to the entire team, even though his eyes were on me, right at this very moment in time.
I looked at the coach, with quite a bit of a blank look on my face, as I was not all too sure as to just what else it was that I should be doing right at this very moment in time in the very first place any ways, as I then all of the sudden saw him nod to me.
It was clear that he was trying to make sure that I was paying attention as to just what it was that he had to say to the entire team, in the very first place any ways, which I always did, so I felt like he should not be so worried about me right at this very moment in time, as I felt like he should be worried about the rest of the team.
I heard the stomps of the defense begin to stop from just behind me, all at the exact same time as well, as it was clear that they had now all of the sudden caught up to us, all at the exact same time too, as it was clear that they had copied what it was that us, the offense had done, on thinking that it would be a good idea to go ahead and head on off to the field, all at the exact same time as well.
I rolled my eyes a bit to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I knew that it was a bit childish of me to be calling them some thing of the sort of copy cats, but at the exact same time as well, I could not help but to think that they kind of had in fact done as such a thing, all at the exact same time as well, none the less.
I breathed in quite a bit heavily to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I then got my focus off of all of that, all at the exact same time too, as I got my focus in some thing that was completely different than all of that all of the sudden, which was the fact that the head coach was staring at me right in front of my eyes, with quite a bit of a blank look on his face, never the less, as it was clear to me that he was waiting for me to nod back, before he began to speak to the entire team.
I blinked my eyes a few times, as I was not all too sure as to just what it was that he was thinking, not just what it was that was even going on with him at this very moment in time, in the very first place any ways, as I then just nodded to him any ways, as I just hoped that it made him feel a little bit better, all at the exact same time too.
I knew that it was one thing to have a coach that was not a good coach at all, on your team, but it was a completely different thing to not just have that, but to also have a coach that was not having all too much hope on his team, all at the exact same time too.
It was kind of sad that it seemed like he needed to rely on me to have any sort of faith on the team, as I knew that I was not the only player that was on the team, all at the exact same time too, as I let out quite a bit of a rough sigh to my self all of the sudden, all at the exact same time as well.
Just as soon as I had let out the rough sigh, all at once, it then all of the sudden began to seem that the coach had all of the sudden seemed to wake him self up, all at once, as he then all of the sudden began to start to speak up to the team, all at the exact same time as well, never the less.
I looked at the coach, with quite a bit of a blank look on my own face, as I was not all too sure as to just what else it was that I should do right now, as I then all of the sudden began to start to listen as to just what it was that he even had to say to the team in the very first place any ways, never the less.
"Alright every one... We are going to start this off with us doing drills, and stretches..." He said to every one, as I heard a lot of groans from a bunch of the team, all at the exact same time as well, as to just what it was that he had even said, all at the exact same time as well, as I was not all too sure as to just what it was that they were thinking right now, in the very first place any ways, as well.
I stood there in this same spot for quite a bit of some time, as I saw that a lot of the team had their heads a bit low to the ground, as I heard that a lot of them were cursing out the coach, all at the exact same time as well, which I normally would think would be kind of funny, due to the fact that I knew that the coach was a terrible coach after all, but that was not how it was that I felt at all in this situation.
I kind of felt like it was time to take the side of the coach for once, as I knew that the team always did this at the beginning of every practice, as I knew that we had to loosen our selves up a bit before it was that we were to go on to the field, all at the exact same time too.
I rolled my eyes at all of my team mates, all at the exact same time too, as I looked over to Ray, to see that he was one of the ones that was clearly complaining about the fact that we were doing drills and stretches to start to season, and the practice, all at the exact same time too.
I squinted my eyes at my friend, as I knew that he was a smart guy, so I was not all too sure as to just what it was that he was thinking at all right now, as I had my head tilted at him right at this very moment in time, all at the exact same time as well.
It looked like he was about to start to speak up to the coach, all at the exact same time as well, but just before it seemed like he had the chance to do as such a thing, I then all of the sudden began to hear some one else speak up to the coach, all at the exact same time as well.
I turned my head over to just who it was that was doing as such a thing, as I then saw that to my surprise, it was the new Quarterback that had come to the team this year, as he was supposed to be some thing nice, as he was a freshman Quarterback, all at the exact same time as well.
I hoped that he could be good come next year at the very least, as I knew that it was often times hard for a rookie or a freshman Quarterback to get on their feet, as a lot of the times, it was just due to the fact that they had not fully grown, as I knew for a fact that I had not fully grown my self, as I was simply only 5'11 which thankfully was still a lot taller than a lot of the people that covered me none the less.
I knew that it would not stay that way come to college, and for sure not when it came to the pro level, so I just had to hope and pray that I kept on growing, all at the exact same time too. I breathed in a bit to my self, as I saw that the freshman Quarterback was around 5'9 if I had to take my best guess, as I then shook off all of those thoughts from my head, all at the exact same time as well.
I got my focus on the fact that it was clear that just like the rest of the team that was around me right at this very moment in time, it was clear that he was not all too happy with the fact that we had to start the season off with the fact that we were going to do drills and stretches first.
He stood up for the rest of the team, all at the exact same time as well, as it was clear that he was getting a lot of support from the team, all at the exact same time as well, as he then all of the sudden did in fact continue to speak up to the head coach, all at the exact same time as well.
I stared at the kid, who I looked at the back of his jersey, all at the exact same time as well, as I then all of the sudden began to realize as to just who it was that this kid was in the very first place any ways, as I saw the back name on his jersey, as it then all of the sudden came back to me, as I had seen his highlights in his middle school games, as well as the fact that the coach had told us to go to one of the games at the exact same time as well, during the season, to see who our team mates were going to be, all at the exact same time too.
The kid was a skilled athlete, as I could say that with out a doubt, but it was clear, all at the exact same time, that the kid had a short leash, and a hot head, which was easy to arouse, all at the exact same time as well, as I breathed in quite a bit to my self, all at the exact same time as well.
I blinked my eyes a few times, as I had a bit of some fear as to just what it was that he was going to be like when he did not get his way, all at the exact same time as well, which it would make sense that it would not be any thing good at all, as I knew that a lot of the times, all at the exact same time as well, that a lot of the kids that lived in this state were quite a bit privelaged, and they expected every thing to go their way, all at the exact same time as well.
I breathed in quite a bit heavily to my self, as I did my best to get my focus off of all of those thoughts all at the exact same time as well, as I looked at the hot headed kid, that had the name Cornell on the back of his jersey, as I remembered the name to be the Quarterback of our nearby middle school team, which was Samuel Cornell, all at the exact same time too.
I looked at the kid right in to his eyes, as I had my eyes squinted at him, all at the exact same time too, as I was not all too sure as to just why it was that I was trying to defend our coach right now, as I blinked my eyes a few times, and I just looked at the kid for a little bit of some more time, never the less.
The kid did not have his eyes on me at all, as it was clear that he did not know who it was that I was for some odd reason or another, as he just had his eyes on the coach instead, as I could tell that it did in fact bother coach Sheldon, all at the exact same time as well, none the less.
I blinked my eyes just a few times, as I just kept on staring at the kid for a little bit longer, as he continued to speak up to the coach, and I began to listen as to just what it was that he even had to say to him in the very first place any ways, never the less.
"Come on, we aren't kids coach... So don't treat us like that... We know that there is a bunch of scouts sitting and waiting for us right now, so let's just get this shit started!" He said to the coach, as I heard a lot of the cheers from much of the team, all at the exact same time as well, as it was clear that the team did not have much respect for the coach, which I did not blame them for.
How ever, it did in fact feel like they were the ones in the wrong right now, as I stayed back a bit, all at the exact same time as well, as I really did not want to be a part of this none the less, as I began to breath in quite a bit softly to my self, all at the exact same time as well, as I was not all too sure as to how it was that our team could be such idiots all at the exact same time too.
I shook my head, as I let out quite a bit of a heavy sigh to my self, all at the exact same time too, as I looked at the coach, all at the exact same time as well, as I could tell that he had a bit of a look of some worry on his face, all at the exact same time too, as it was clear that he realized that the team was ganging up on him right now.
I stared at him right in to his eyes, such as I had done for the new guy, as I really wanted to see what it was that the coach was going to do right now, as it would in fact show me if he had got any where from last year from being the coach on a team that had not done all too well during the season, all at the exact same time too, as we had barely been able to get in to the playoffs, only to get bounced out in the first round, to an insanely over powered team, which an amazing head coach, all at the exact same time too.
I rolled my eyes a bit, as the coach seemed like he was going to just give in to what it was that the team wanted, at least that was what it seemed like to be going on at first, until I then all of the sudden saw him squint his eyes at the entire team, as I saw him put his foot on the ground, very much to my surprise, all at the exact same time as well, none the less.
I could tell that it surprised the team, all at once, as I saw the entire team stop hopping around and cheering, all of the sudden, as it was clear that now things seemed to be getting quite a bit serious, all at the exact same time as well, as I then all of the sudden began to hear the coach start to speak up to all of us.
I really did not have a part in all of this, and I was glad that coach realized that, as for once he did not have his eyes on me at all, as he began to start to speak to the whole team, as I let out a bit of a soft relieved sigh, and I began to start to listen, all at the exact same time as well, as to just what it was that he even had to say to us all in the very first place any ways.
"You are still kids... And you will be until you turn 18, so do not speak to me in that sort of tone..." He said back to the kid, as I could not help but to have a bit of a grin on my face, all at the exact same time too, as to just what it was that he had just said, as I almost wanted to cheer the coach on my self right now, but I did not want to upset the team that I was going to be on for this upcoming season, all at the exact same time as well. I breathed in quite a bit to my self, all at once, as I saw that the freshman kid dipped his head a bit low to the ground. Once coach saw him do that, it was clear that he was glad that he had now all of the sudden proved his point, as he then looked back at the rest of the team that was around him right now, as he once again began to start to speak to all of them. "Now... We do stretches so you don't tear a muscle, in case you might have forgot... The scouts do not come til later any ways..."
