After Saera had led the incorrectly dubbed red wolf to a clean pen in the kennels and assigned a Mina worker to keep an eye on her, she let out an exhale she hadn't realized she'd been carrying.

"That was pure luck," she said to the soldier who had accompanied her. "If it had been any other time, we wouldn't have run into that dog. I don't know how long she's been out there alone."

"My Lady." The soldier was looking at her with wide eyes beneath his helmet. Looking closer, Saera realized he was younger than she'd thought, far younger than her and Jin. "Though I feared for our safety, I was right to do as you commanded. You are brave like the second son!"
