Time passed in a happy blur, and Saera slowly began to give Jin's request more thought. True to his word, he never pressed her on the topic, though his desire would sometimes slip through.

To both of their relief, they received multiple letters from Akira, that came addressed to both her and Jin together. He wrote to say he'd arrived safely at his destination, and then a second time to say he was planning to approach the child. The moment Akira had left the estate, all remnants of Jin's jealousy had vanished. His love for his brother took precedent, and Jin devoured the letters the moment they arrived. Saera wondered whether Akira's pain had faded, whether his heart had begun to heal. Though she regretted his suffering, one look at Jin was enough to assure her she had made the right choice.
