The force made from both parties running into each other made everywhere inconspicuous by the after-effects, as though a giant tsunami had just taken place.
Teacher Kira's eyes lit up all of a sudden. As if she'd just realised something, she said in a hurried voice, "Quick, look beneath this and give me a full detail of what's actually happening there?"
"Huhn?" I stared at my teacher as though I was looking at a fool. She knew clearly well that the both of us could not tell what went on due to the inconspicuousness made from both parties running into each other, and their overwhelming auras making an obscure sight, so how could I possibly see beyond the denseness?
"There's no time to explain, you're a possessor of the Royal Spirit Bloodline, you should be able to separate illusions from reality... Just listen, stop the face you're making. Looking intently, try to awaken your bloodline. That force that drives you to feel the movements of each of these animals should be enough impetus for your breakthrough from Dormant Royal Spirit Bloodline into the innated Butterflies Royal Spirit Bloodline."
From the seriousness in her face, I could tell that this meant a lot to her. Besides, with her explanations being simple — though almost impossible to believe — I knew that the words she'd said matched with the drive I feel when perceiving the animals around my presence. It was something I always felt.
A simple analysis to how I feel when sensing the forces of animals around me is urination. Have you ever felt intently pressed to urinate before? Now imagine you couldn't urinate despite the urge to, due to an organ being damaged—
For this great reason, I've always felt hunted by my ability, rather than "gifted" as was pointed out by this dynasty.
I've always restrained from going far with my perception ability of merging the sensations of animals into my mind. It was a painful process. This was the main reason that, after hearing Teacher Kira's commands, I felt she must be indeed foolish to spout such nonsense.
'Yo, do you even care to know how it feels doing this?'
Nevertheless, I really wanted to know what this "breakthrough" of a thing felt like. Even if what she just described might be impossible to others, as one who has lived with this ability for nine years (since I was just seven years old), it was a walk in the park to sense the presence of just a few animals.
Back then at home, I could sense — whenever I exerted myself — every single animal in the whole of the neighborhood. Due to being a curious person, I naturally knew what I was capable of doing.
Following Teacher Kira's explanations, word for word, under those split-seconds of thoughts, I began to drive my mind to the darkness from the coalition of auras.
'Pain!'
I stared deeply.
'More pain!'
My head began to hurt as I kept pushing myself up.
'Deep pain!'
I was already resolved.
"This better be worth it," I muttered under my breaths.
I began to gradually feel them. I sensed the heartbeats of every single one of them. Shutting my eyes tight, I could feel their every turn and clash in muscles.
"Open your eyes and peer through, Steph, don't give up," I heard a voice by my ears.
Just at that moment, I began to feel the drive inside me run up like an eased bladder. It was inexplicable. In place of the pain I felt in my mind, came an unusually calming sensation.
Opening my eyes slowly, lines of insights appeared over my eyes in white streaks. It was as though my whole world was transformed completely, and there was no secret that could be hidden from wherever my eyes fell on. I felt lighter, as though I had injured gravity, and even my aura felt more tangible and purer.
'Incredible!'
I could feel the arerat symbol in my right hand burning, but I didn't bother giving it any attention, before turning to the battle of soulless spirit beings and the Soul Drenching Squirrels.
"Huhn?" The illusions that once concealed my eyes from what was going on within now became clear as day before me.
I carefully observed the Soul Drenching Squirrels. They seemed to not just rely on their physical strength — which swept their rivals off like a sport car would do to people when driven recklessly — but also a type of battle formation that harnessed their every movements with nature.
Looking further, I was able to understand the significance of this. Before a soulless spirit beast could overpower the Soul Drenching Squirrels, the latter would have already found flaws in their movements and destroy them as easily as snapping the life out of an insect.
'Fearsome!'
To think that just five spirit beast would easily overpower the many soulless spirit beasts!
As for the soulless men also charging forward, they were easily overpowered by the skilled men led by Derizante.
In no time, they had almost swept over every soulless being that'd risen from the Euphenic Call of the Deities.
Seeing the expectant gaze from Teacher Kira, I quickly related all that I'd observed.
"Hmm... so the Soul Drenching Squirrels specialised in Movement Formation as well." She looked into the distance with a bewildered expression, obviously speaking to no one in person.
Now very conscious of every single movement in my environment, it could be said that not even a fly could get away unnoticed. So when I felt something move, my face immediately shot towards the direction. Peering closely, I drove my eyes of insight and saw Kira running back towards the Beast Hall, taking advantage of the sudden distraction she'd successfully created.
She got in, but not completely unnoticed, this time.
"Not so fast!" the Steel-winged Vulture declared, charging after Kira with an abrupt burst in killing intent from its aura. It's speed was just unbelievable.
Birds of prey were fast. Aerial savage beasts were faster, but half-spirit beasts were the fastest! Just with the look of its finesse and speed in the art of flying, I was only left to wonder how fast aerial spirit beasts were.
The more I plunged my consciousness into the direction Kira ran, the more it looked as if the Beast Hall was just a breath away from me. As Kira dived into the empty Main Hall, my subconsciousness followed suite, and we (Teacher Kira and I) found ourselves inside the Main Hall as though through teleportation.
I was about to turn to Teacher Kira to ask how come we teleported, only for the same question to fall back to me.
"You also have the power to control the Channel of Ancient Reality?!"
"I. . ."
Before I could even give a reply, I heard the cry of a vulture as its claws plunged into flesh and slashed out.
Turning my head, it was none other than Kira and the Steel-winged Vulture. The latter had clawed Kira's arm, leaving her to be pushed flying forward, covering a space of ten metres, by the brute force from its claws.
"Die!" called the bleeding Kira with rage bursting forth from her eyes. If looks could kill, I tell you, the Steel-winged Vulture would have been burnt into cinders.
Immediately after Kira made that outcry, she began to draw out her spirit in a way that there was complete harmony from her body and the spirit, with a distinguishing aura exuding from the spirit. If one looked carefully, one would recognise the spirit to be reminiscence of a large tiger in its prowess. After the spirit left the body, the body was left with no driving force, hence, plummeting to the floor.
"Ahh-haha-haha!" laughed the Steel-winged Vulture. "You dare challenge a Half-spirit realm savage beast to a battle between spirit? Here is where your great name ends!"
