Kavan has agreed to accept immortality and to marry Sabrina in accordance with the dragon customs after deliberating on it. Sated from their lovemaking, both of them lay together on the bed, Kavan's arms around Sabrina.
"What is it like to live for so long?" Kavan asked.
"It is like you have all the time in the world for everything so small things became irrelevant and nothing is a waste of time if it is truly what you wanted to do," Sabrina replied.
She explained that since the dragon shapeshifters are immortals, they perceive time differently than mortals. For humans, 10 years seem like a long time for but the dragon shapeshifters, it is just a blink of an eye.
"So, if you think about it, 20 years, 30 years, 50 years, those aren't very long for us dragons and I don't think it is enough for me to only get to spend 50 years with you," she said.
