Striding up next to Marie, I elbow her making her look at me. Face red as I smirk up at her.
"Girlfriend huh?"
"Ugh, well, you see… Fuck…" She curses scratching behind her ear as we continue to walk. "Fine I've liked you for a while and I was always kind of curious but never really had the time." Taking a deep breath, she stops and faces me. "Would you like to go out on a date?"
"With everything that's happened…" It's so hard trying to hold the smile back, but it doesn't really matter anymore does it. "Yeah, my treat!"
"Oh no you don't!" She argues back with a smile of her own.
"But you bought the books last time!" We bicker like this back and forth before another voice joins the conversation.
"Come on love birds! No time for the mushy stuff in the void." Looking over Olen has stopped, waiting with a knowing smile as we laugh and make our way over. Marie leans over me whispering in my ear.
"He's one to talk…"
"I heard that!" He laughs eyeing both of us as we make our way back over to the group. Deianira stands with a reluctant look on his face, with a wave of his robe a door appears behind him.
'This door will take you back to your homes. My last wish for you…" Eyeing my dad for a second he continues. 'Don't get yourself into anymore demon trouble. The next one might not be so forgiving.' My dad nods walking over to the door, taking the knob he turns it to reveal the attic of our house. Taking my mom by the hand he looks over to me, I wave them off and with another nod they walk through the door closing behind them. 'Next.'
Marie steps over holding her hand to me, I take it with a smile. Looking over at Olen he nods and pushes us closer to the door. Opening it to reveal Andy's shop the high shelves haven't changed a bit as we step through. Looking back the door is gone living us in the calm silence.
"Let's go see if the storm is over?" Turning to face Marie she is gone leaving me alone in the shop, after a minute or two it dawns on me. "Shit, her body is still at my house." Chuckling, I shake my head and make my way out the store.
