Chapter 1 - ???

West Barrow Highschool, Mid-semester night. Moon hung high within the cloudless sky; the twinkle of stars splashed across the horizon.

???

Tonight, the double doors of the cafeteria come open with ease, allowing my robed figure to slip through. The soft humming of music nearly heard through the silence as clean leather shoes slide across the pristine hallway. The Chess board pattern of white and black tile the floor beautifully.

Drawing closer to the thudding music. My eyes land upon the glistening streamers. That dangled haphazardly from the lockers in different shades. Stopping before the set of double doors leading to the gymnasium. Within, upperclassman and teachers enjoy the thudding hum of whatever was chosen. Shaking my head, I fixate the vail that covered my features before searching.

Tonight, marks one of twelve moves needed to play our game. The vail rises a small bit as a wicked smile plays on my chapped lips. Stepping down the hall, my eyes land upon my pawns. A young boy and his partner leaned against one another within the darkness of dark ruby lockers and decorated classroom doors. Planting a kiss to the girls neck the boy unlocks one of the classrooms, discarding the key out in the open as they fall inside.

'Perfect…'

Mind racing with possibly idea's, I swipe up the key and wait a moment. Must not rush the game they are watching after all. Pulling a small, twisted dagger from my robes. Before slinking into the room, ducking from view the two continue their own dance as I loosen and tighten my dark gloved hang around the tar black handle.

Feeling that tingle of anticipation pull at my very soul, I moved into action. Swiftly burying the blade into the boys back making him hitch up as pain flooded his system. The girl on the other hand scrambled back in shock a scream pulling from her throat as I tear the twisted metal from his back. Reaching forward I place my hand over her glossy lips muffling any other piercing screech that dare draw from her.

Throwing her to the floor she tries to pull herself to her feet in vain, as I move above her. Pinning her by the nap of her neck against the cold floor I can see the crimson pool that begun to soak the fry of her dress. Her partner trying as he might to reach the door. Lifting the blade, the light from her eyes fades ever so slowly.

Before dropping her flooding throat to the floor, I walk over to him. His breathing heavy as he tries to slide across the floor. Out of the corner of my eye I give the window a childish wave before finishing the boy with several jagged stabs. Breathing soon becoming heavy, I stop a soft smile playing at my lips as I stand robe now cover in crimson as I run my hand over my vail. Letting out a soft chuckle, I turn taking the bottom of the robe off the ground and walking away. My job was done. His job was just beginning. One move done Twelve more to go, and all that will be left is beauty of the game.
