Chapter 7 - The Most Important Thing Is... The People's Loyalty!

The moment they heard this sentence, a smile appeared on the faces of Robert and Phyllis.

"Haha, let's not delay this any longer. Let's go!"

Robert smiled slightly and said directly to Albert.

"Yes." Albert nodded.

After taking out another map of New York City from the drawer, the three of them walked out of the door together.

At the same time, just as Albert and the other two were leaving the shelter, in front of Albert's house, two figures slowly came to the door.

Barker and Hearst each held a cigarette in their mouths.

"Hey, Hearst, how long do you think we should watch Albert?"

Barker looked at Hearst who was beside him and asked, "It's almost dinner time. Do you think we should prepare some food for this kid?"

Hearing that, Hearst turned his gaze over and said, "Ah? You mean this? We definitely can't let this kid go just yet."

"Right now, the deputy commander is pushing aside the people who follow Elke. If we let Albert go, he might cause trouble."

"As for dinner, we can bring some leftovers later!"

"Pfft, this kid's life was good enough before. It's okay to let him suffer a little now!"

With a cold snort, Hurst was about to push open the door.

But the moment he put his hand on the wooden door.

"Dong!"

The sudden sense of obstruction made hurst slightly stunned.

However, in the next second when he was blocked outside the door.

Hearst suddenly revealed a knowing smile.

"Ha, I didn't expect that that kid, Rozak, to do such a good job!"

"He even knew to lock the door behind him, so that Elke's men wouldn't come looking for Albert!"

As if he had seen through everything, Hearst smiled and shouted directly into the door.

"Hey, the kids inside, we're back."

"Open the door."

However, even after he finished speaking, there was no movement from inside the door.

"Uh..."

Seeing this scene, Barker was a little stunned.

Hearst was also stunned.

After feeling that there was no movement from inside the door for a few seconds, he became a little anxious and directly knocked on the door a few times.

"Bang, bang, bang..."

A series of rough knocks on the door were heard.

"Hey! Rozak, don't play this game with uncle. Open the door!" Hearst shouted.

However, the response from inside the door was still a strange silence.

At this moment, Hearst's eyes suddenly opened, and he also realized that something seemed to be wrong.

"F*ck!"

Realizing that something was wrong, Hearst punched the wooden door directly.

With a crack, the wooden door shattered and was smashed open.

Then, a wooden table and bookshelves were pushed behind the wooden door.

Obviously, the door was not locked from the inside, but was blocked by the furniture.

Beside the fallen furniture, there were still five people lying around.

Then, they looked at the figures that had long disappeared from the bed.

The truth had already appeared before his eyes.

"F*ck, that kid escaped?"

Looking at the mess in the room, Hearst was so angry that his lungs were about to explode. He turned to barker and said, "Let's go and report to the deputy base commander. Send someone to catch this kid!"

However, just as Hearst was about to leave, Barker suddenly shouted and stopped him.

"Wait, Hearst!"

Hearst turned to look at him. "What?"

"Since it has already happened, don't be so impatient! The most important thing now is to figure out the current situation!"

"Judging from the time we've been out, Albert might not have gone far."

With that, Barker frowned and walked straight into the room.

There were furniture and sundries all around him. After looking around, his eyes moved and he noticed a map of the fallout shelter on the desk.

He picked up the map and immediately saw the two main doors of the fallout shelter that were circled out in red on the map.

Next to the red circle, there was a line of words that read, "Knock out the guards."

In just an instant, Barker smiled and understood.

"I understand. This kid wants to attack the guards and leave the shelter!"

"Hehe, although he has a plan, this kid probably hasn't grown up yet. It's his first time experiencing something like this, and he actually left such an important mark at home!"

"Now that we know where they escaped to, we only need to capture them at the same time!"

As he spoke, Barker looked at the map.

From Albert's home, it was the closest to the east gate.

But Albert was not a fool. If he thought about it, then he most likely wanted to leave through the west gate.

After some analysis, Barker looked directly at Hearst and said, "Since that's the case, you go and inform the deputy commander. I'll go to the west gate to capture this kid first."

"Okay!"

Hearing the order, Hearst nodded and did not say anything more. He gritted his teeth and left the room.

In the room, after putting away the map, Barker also smiled and headed toward the west gate.

..

In the shelter, in the deputy commander's office.

"What, you said Albert escaped?"

Looking at Hearst in front of him, Gretel was stunned and full of surprise. Then, he immediately became angry. "What the hell is going on? Why can't you two keep an eye on a kid?!"

"I'm sorry, Deputy Commander Gretel. It's my fault. I'm willing to accept any punishment!"

Hearst immediately knelt on the ground and said solemnly.

"Forget it. It's useless to say these things now. Things have already come to this..."

Calming down the anger in his chest, Hearst looked into the distance. His gaze darkened slightly. "We have to catch that kid Back!"

Hearing that...

Hearst did not dare to make a sound.

But behind Gretel, another subordinate could not hold it in anymore. He suddenly asked curiously, "Deputy base leader, I don't understand."

"Albert is the child of the commander. Since Elke is already dead, let him go if he wants to die. It will be more beneficial for us to just stay and rule the entire shelter."

"Why do we have to save him?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Gretel turned his head and his eyes became silent and serious.

The member immediately realized that he had said something wrong. He quickly lowered his head and said in a panic, "I'm sorry, deputy commander. I shouldn't have asked that!"

Looking at his subordinate's expression, Gretel slowly exhaled and said.

"Forget it. Seeing that many of you don't understand, I'll explain."

"The reason why I wanted to stop this kid was not because I couldn't bear to see him die."

"It was... because I wanted to use him to gain the loyalty of the people."

As he said this, a bright light flashed in Gretel's old eyes.

This sentence also stunned everyone present.
