I smiled at my mom and said, "It's already morning now. Why don't we both freshen up and get ready to face the day?"
She gave me a sad smile and said ,"Yeah, we both need to face the reality of whatever the day will bring for us."
The day went by, with more people visiting us to offer their condolences , with some aunt's from my dad's side ,even indirectly accusing my mom of not informing them about my dad's cancer.
I was shocked and was about to reply them a befitting answer , but my mom held me back and simply replied ,"Ben didn't want me to trouble you guys and he even refused to take the chemo treatment as he said that the cancer was in its advanced stage, and all he wanted to do during his last days was to live like the man he was born to be, and not tied down with needles and strong medication."
