Before Joshua could complete his sentence, my mom came in, followed by a very worried Leo and Aurora, and Gabby and my dad.
"Issy", my mom said as she came to my bed side and my tears started falling on its own accord. It was like releasing the dam and I couldn't stop them.
My mom wordlessly hugged me, and wiped my tears away. All she said to me was,"Issy, let it all out. Cry as much as you want, and don't keep it in. I'm right here."
I continued to cry out, for my baby, for myself and for the relationship with Joshua that I had just ended. My mom only held me and said nothing, but I felt the strength she lent me with her hug.
Maybe it was the anesthesia or maybe because I was too tired to cry anymore, but I drifted off to sleep, and when I woke up, only my mom and Joshua was in the room.
My mom was saying,"Joshua, I appreciate what you're doing for Issy, but you need to go home and rest as well. We're here for her, and you can meet her later."
