The funeral went by in a blurry, and everyone else said pretty much good things about my dad . Funny how people seem to have so much good things to say about someone, after they are gone.
After the funeral was over and we laid down my dad's casket to the ground , my heart broke at the realization that this would be the last time I ever saw my dad's face. I wouldn't be able to see him smiling at me , or hear him telling others of how proud he was of me working in the city.
I looked at my mom, who stroked the casket and whispered , "Ben dear, we've spent some of the most beautiful moments together that I'll always cherish. Rest in peace , knowing that Issy and I will live well."
At my mom's words , my tears threatened to fall again , but right at that time , Aurora and Gabby arrived and held me and my mom , and I found my strength from their embrace.
We came back home and as I sat by my mom , I asked her ,"Mom, how did it happen? How did dad ...."
