"Aurora, I just remembered that I hadn't asked whether you guys had found a place for us to rent?",I said as soon as she mumbled a "Hello".
"Umm,about that",she started and I felt dejected realizing that my fears came true, but I couldn't blame them either,considering the fact that it was not easy to find a place to rent in the city and they had come to my place right after I left.
"Its okay. We'll find one in no time",I told her reassuring her,not believing my own words.
We had reached the city centre and Joshua parked his car near a restaurant and waited for Zeke's car to arrive. Seeing no sign of his car, he sent Zeke our location and led me to the restaurant.
It wasn't a posh restaurant like the one Zeke had taken me to last time, so there was no maitre D, but it was still very decent and warm,which was something I liked right away.
While we waited for Zeke and the girls, the waiter came and took our orders and I excused myself to use the restroom. After I was done and came back to our table, Zeke and the girls were already there.
"There you are, and here we thought you might have been kidnapped",Gabby exclaimed dramatically. I gave her my eye roll, and sat down beside Aurora. With Zeke and Joshua seated just opposite me, I noticed that they shared very much alike in features. They were both tall and had the same gray eyes and dimples and the same built.
But the similarities ended there when it came to their characters. While Zeke was a tech nerd,kind and had a little streak of love for adventures, Joshua seemed to be reserved and had a practical approach at life. Both of them were true gentlemen, and I could ony attribute that to their good upbringing.
Just as the food arrived, I told them,"We took the liberty to order for you guys as well". "No problem",Gabby replied for all of them.
I didn't know whether it was the warm and cozy ambience or that the food was just too good,but we all had a good meal and didn't waste any food.
"Now that our stomachs are filled, coming back to the bigger problem, where are we gonna live now",I lowered my voice and spoke to Gabby and Aurora. "Joshua offered his place and said Zeke wouldn't mind it either he said, but I don't know if we'd be imposing on them",I voiced my opinions.
"At least we'd have some place to stay for now right?I'd take you to my parents' place,but that's too far from the city centre to commute",Gabby replied.
"You girls think we can't hear you?",Zeke laughed out loud and Joshua gave his smile as if he was amused.
"My offer still stands. Its near the clinic and Zeke's office is just nearby as well, and considering the situation,that'd be the best option",Joshua said.
"You're welcome to come stay at my place too, but its not as big as Josh's and a tad bit farther than his", Zeke said.
"Why don't you tell them that the ' tad bit farther' would be at least by a couple of miles from your office",Joshua chuckled.
"We'll take your offer,we're staying at your place Dr. Mc..,umm, I mean Dr. Williams",Gabby said excitedly and I could only mumble my thanks to both Zeke and Joshua.
"I feel like, we've been imposing on you guys quite a lot,but thank you very much. I don't know what we'd do without you guys",I told them.
"Its what we should do as friends",Zeke simply replied and smiled and I smiled back at him.
Joshua paid the bills,much to our protest and he only gave a nonchalant shrug, and headed to his place, which was just a few blocks away.
Owning a house at such a young age was already remarkable,but when we saw his house, I could only be amazed. It was a beautiful villa, and had an equally beautiful landscape. There was a garden, much like my mom's,only bigger and with more flowers,and an apricot tree stood in the middle,whereby hung a swing, and for a moment, I itched to go there and bask in its beauty.
I looked at Joshua, I didn't peg him to be the gardening type of person so I assumed he might have an excellent gardener to have kept a very beautiful garden. "You have a very beautiful garden",I said, my eyes still on the swing. He chuckled and I looked up only to notice that he had seen me eying the swing.
"You can enjoy it later, for now, I suggest you rest for sometime",he said and took us to our rooms. His own room was situated upstairs and I was amazed that he actually accommodated us in different rooms.
"This is the kitchen and that's the living room, feel free to use anything and that's about it",he shrugged. "I'll go freshen up,you girls do the same and rest well. Its been a tiring journey. Call me if you need anything,my room's just upstairs", he said and went to his room.
