"Really? You got a new friend?" Victoria asked me, full of interest.
"She wasn't exactly my friend, but she certainly warmed up to me now. I hope we can be friends."
"She'd better! You're a good kid. It's their loss if they fail to realize it. Thank goodness, there are still people with discerning eyes out there!"
It's been a while since I had lunch with Victoria. I needed to complete my task, but I still wanted to eat with her occasionally, so today, I decided to eat there. As usual, Jason's here too, but I wasn't here for him, so I didn't talk to him anymore after we exchanged a brief greeting.
Anyway, was it just me, or did Victoria look brighter than usual? Her usually glowing face looked especially radiant today.
"Enough about me. Is there anything good happening to you lately? You seemed to be in a good mood."
