Chapter 18 - Rescue

Parking the bike at the corner of the building, Yale and I stared at the crowd of worried people surrounding the place and the warning gunshots coming from inside.

Police cars littered the streets as they tried to negotiate with the people inside.

"What do you want?" They asked through the megaphone. "Release the hostages. Many people are going to die otherwise!"

"That is what we are intending!" Someone from the inside shouted back. "We don't want anything. Just to see chaos start!"

"Why don't they just go in if they have no intention of letting the people go?" I asked Yale who shook her head at me.

"They are police. If they go in there, and cause the deaths of some people, the public will criticize them heavily. That they are not really acting with interest to help the people."

"I guess it sucks to have some kind of reputation sometimes, don't you think so?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at Yale.

"Now is not the time." She said, stamping on my feet, repeatedly.

"Ow."
