Time Skip (6 months)
My protection plans have been going alright. I've made a few watches with trackers, heart rate monitors, and a mic inside them. It feels gross and controlling if I lie to everyone and say that they're just regular watches, so I plan on telling them. I've made each of them with care for each person, trying to personalize it to everyone. I made one for Takao; I just used his favorite colors of red, black, and grey, Jiro; black and yellow colored with a mic and stand for the minute and hour hand, Toga; a black and red color with a bleeding heart and knife for the front , Aiko; although I had to ask, I gave her a sky blue with a cherry blossom with regular hands, The Pussycats; based on their outfit color and with a paw on it, Mom and Dad; a matching heart pair.
It took me a month and a half to make them all. I'm a terrible artist, but with time, I think they turned out ok. I had to ask a clock worker for the custom minute and hour hands. It also took me a clock building kit and a lot of research for rewiring the battery and such. I also added the mic, because I'm thinking about only sending me their location if they say, "Ota, Help." That way, it's not a total invasion of privacy. The heart rate will stay on and will ping their location if their heart rate goes above 137. I'll also warn them to take it off in case special exercises occur.
I also designed some support Items. I made some strong square shaped and thin disc shaped trackers. The idea for the strong square ones is to grab the person's shoes and use matter manipulation to stick it inside. For the disc shaped, it's to just bind it to someone's clothes. I have the heart rates, trackers, and mics in this program on my computer. I also made myself an orange watch, as opposed to apple, to have access to this information instantly.
"Ota, hurry up or you're going to be late," my mom calls to me. "Be there in a minute," I yell back and grab my things. Today is actually Aiko's birthday, she's turning 11. My birthdays haven't been too extravagant since I've been here. The first 3 weren;t anything since I didn't have friends. On my 4th I invited Ota and Aiko, and from then on I invited everyone that popped up in my life to them. My grandparents on my dad's side come sometimes, Grandpa Jack likes to talk about his time as a hero during the "Vigilantes Era". As for presents, I've built a pretty good work space in my room with a bunch of tools and a nice computer.
Anyways, I grab my stuff and head out. My present for Aiko is some makeup and stuff. Idk if it's a good present, but I notice she doesn't wear much. I thought it would be neat to see her extra prettied up. I also plan to talk to everyone about giving them the watches. Speaking of, Kota was born a few months ago. I've talked to his parents a bit, and they're pretty neat, cute couple. I'v got a plan going for acting as a vigilante. I've worked on making a suit and plan on only using teleportation. The suit adds a whole head length above me as to further mask my involvement.
Eventually we arrive in front of the house and my thoughts are interrupted. "Wow." Their house is pretty big and has the traditional japanese home style. They have sliding doors and mats. They still have locks on their doors and a pretty big wall surrounding the house for security. 'I've seen it before, but their place is really pretty. Her parents probably makes stacks. I don't know if $50 make up is gonna be too impressive, but it's the thought that counts.' We knock on the door and her parents answer with her behind them.
Her mother has an oval face with black hair and blue eyes. Her hair lays down to the right of her shoulder and has a pretty flower band in it. Her dad, in contrast, has a pretty sharp jawline, a bit square. He has short brown hair and naturally furrowed eyebrows. He also wears a suit often, even now, and has a businessman type of vibe to him. Her mother wears a casual kimono in comparison, having a sort of traditional japanese vibe to her.
The invite us in and we take off our shows heading to the dinning room. We enter to find everyone there, Takao and his parents, Jiro and hers, Toga and hers, and the Pussycats. 'Wow, pretty big party. My guess is the adults will talk in a group and the kids will group up.' We enter in and set the present on a side table along with other gifts. My parents head to the group of adults and I head to the group of kids. "Hey, the party has arrived." "Ok bud, sure," Takao replies. 'Bro, Takao, hype me up man?' "Whatever, what's happening?"
We all sit and talk and say happy birthday to Aiko. Eventually, the conversation ends up to careers. "So what does everyone plan on doing in the future," I question the group. "You already know I'm gonna be a pro greater than you," Takao replies with full confidence. "I don't klnow, I thought about a musician, but I actually think hero work could be cool," Jiro replies and people nod along. "I don't care, just somewhere with Ota," Toga replies holding onto my arm. "I'm no too sure, maybe a doctor like mom" Aiko is the one to talk next. "What about you man," Takao questions.
"Your already know I'm going to be the number 0 hero. I'm gonna run a hero organization and do both support items and hero work." "Zero," Toga looks up to me and tilts her head. "Yup, I'm gonna be greater than any other number 1 before, so I'll make a new rank. 0," I reply with assurance. People look at me funny, but that seems to be a fairly common occurrence so I ignore it. "Also, what about your dad," I look at Aiko and ask. "What?" "What's your dad's job if your mom's a doctor?" "Oh, I don't know, some kind of business CEO or something. He doesn't talk about it much."
'Weird.' We keep talking and eventually the party starts with eating and drinks. The cake comes out and we enjoy. The parents keep talking and some eyes are set on the Pussycats for their inability to help me during my attempted kidnapping. Speaking of, no further action has been seen from the kidnappers. They could be All For One and if so, he might not want to draw anymore attention. And with his connections, he probably knows about my instant call button the support class at U.A made for me.
The 'button' actually comes with my watch. If I triple tap the screen, then double tap it, it goes off. It's a bit tedious and in a dire situation, maybe a bit ineffective, but I should still be able to use it well if something happens. It also works as a great deterrent for villains to leave me alone. 'Hmm, a deterrent. If there was a strong enough deterrent, would there be any more villains?' Eventually the water hits me and I gotta use the bathroom. "Aiko, where's the bathroom?" "2 doors to the right."
I go down the hallway and look as I walk. Some family photos are on the one. On my way I hear a voice and can't help to listen in. "No that won't work, Mr. Sato wants the product shipped as soon as it's done. If the Hoibas don't get their equipment soon enough then prepare for their operation." 'Hoibas? Isn't that a dying out gang or something? And that's Mr. Sakai' I move on but keep this knowledge as I'm taking my shit.
After I'm done, I stay in the bathroom for a bit. 'The office is 2.3 meters that way. Maybe I should check?' I double check that I locked the bathroom door then sit on the toilet and send my senses into the room. I find Mr. Sakai still on the phone and listen in to the conversation as I move my senses around the room. I find some pictures of Mr. Sakai shaking hands with people and even and old picture on his desk with him and a group of people dressed like each other. It starts to set in, but for those that haven't figured it out, 'Holy shit, Aiko's dad is a Yakuza member.'
'What should I do? Should I send in an anonymous tip? No, that would ruin Aiko's life. But is it really ok for me to let them go because their daughter is my friend? … Yeah.' Although it might be messed up, I probably would've helped Toga even after she became the crazy killer. A strict moral compass like All Might isn't my cup of tea. I'm not a full hero like him. I'll save everyone I can and escape or constrain a villain before killing or attacking them. But I don't believe in saving everyone and I have bias towards people I like.
I get back to the party and it continues on. Aiko starts to open her presents and she gets to mine. "Ohh, makeup?" "Yeah, I noticed you don't wear any, so I thought if you got some you would look even nicer." It's hard to read her face, but she says thank you. 'Was that inconsiderate? Did she take it as me saying, you look ugly, you need makeup? Oh well, that's her thing.' The party goes on and I eventually ask the group.
"So guys, I've got a weird request," I comment and the group of kids look at me. "I made some watches with trackers in them so If any of you gets attacked, I can teleport in and help. Does anyone want one?" There's the funny look. Though Takao and Toga are not a part of it, "Sure man," "Ooh, I want one," they reply and walk up. I offer the black red and grey tactical looking watch to Takao. I then give the bleeding heart to Toga. "Oooh, It's so pretty," they both take them and wear them on Toga's right and Takao's left hand.
"If your heart rate gets above 137 it will send a notification with your location to my watch. Also, if you say out loud, 'Ota, help.' then it will also ping me," I explain how they work. "So I should wear this during my workout?" Takao asks, but I explain that heart rates don't normally go that high during a workout, only under special workouts could that happen. He seems to understand then Toga talks, "Ota, help." I ping goes off 3 times as 3 of the watches read the demand.
"Hehehe," a smile goes over Toga's face. 'Oh shit.' "Ota, help. Ota, hellllp. OOOOTa, HeLp." Pings start going off like 30 m1 grands are being cocked. "STAP, ya crazy!" "Hahaha," she laughs and hugs me. "Thank you for the gift.," she says while holding me. "But do we get one for you," she asks. "I don't know if I want you to know where I am, but I could use the tracker in my watch to make it accessible to your phones." We talk about the specifics more and some boundaries. I have to give them 10 seconds before sending my senses over in case they want to cancel the notification.
'Actually I didn't think of that, but it's possible.' Eventually Jiro and Aiko also accepted, then I went to the Pussycats. They hear me out and actually accept the watches, but assure me that If they get in a fight, they'll be able to handle it. "Also, be careful. Certain activities could trigger it by accident, you have 10 seconds to cancel a notification." It seems everyone but Ragdoll gets the gist, so I leave. 'They'll explain it to her later.'
I leave the group and head back, also noticing Mr. Sakai's shoes. 'Hmm… He is a criminal technically. And a Yakuza member.' I find a chance to exit the room and head over to Mr. Sakai's shoes take them and matter manipulating a tracker into them. 'He might have ties to Chisaka's group, and if so, I could find Ari. I should also keep an eye out for his activities and intervene in my vigilante suit when I can.' I take this as the best possible action and continue the party, eventually leaving and heading home with my ma and pa.
