I opened my eyes and found myself in my mind scape.
"Ugh."
The only reason I would be here unintentionally was if I was currently taking a nap out in the real world. And by nap I mean I was probably unconscious.
"Well someone woke up cranky."
I immediately jumped up in fright, startled. A cheerful giggle escaped the little blue Loli watching me while playfully floating in the air. She was tiny, just a bit bigger than the palm of my hand. She had tanned skin and was wearing a blue dress with blue hair and likewise blue eyes.
"Big bro says staring is wrong you know."
"Whaaa..."
She giggled mischievously again before fleeting away.
"Hey wait."
I called out while flying after her. She looked back at me and darted away even faster while laughing.
"God damnit."
I snapped my fingers and teleported the playful pipsqueak to my hand. I was a god in this place after all. She squealed in fright.
"Hey that isn't fair."
She huffed after trying and failing to escape from my hold.
"Enough games. Who are you and why are you inside my mind scape?"
She blew a raspberry at me.
"Meanie. You have to say the magic word first."
"Fine... please tell me who you are before I squeeze you into paste."
To show I was serious I tightened my hold.
"Ok fine. Just stop it."
I eased the hold and corked my eyebrows. She looked at me aggrieved with puppy eyes.
"I'm immune to that."
"You're no fun. Just like big brother said."
I squeezed again.
"Answers. Now"
"Alright alright, you big bully. My name's Yuki."
"And? Why are you here?"
"Let go of me first."
I sighed but complied.
She flew around me while curiously watching me.
"You really don't know?"
I frowned. I was really getting tired of all the playing around.
"Don't know what?"
"Mmh. I suppose it's not your fault really. Ok, listen up because I am only going to say this once. I am the magnificent, totally awesome Crown of water! But you can call me princess. I won't judge."
"Crown of what?"
I was bewildered.
"No silly. Crown of water."
That statement was punctuated by a spray of iridescent water in the air akin to a fountain.
"Ughh. You're not as cute as you think, brat."
I groaned.
She opened her mouth in mock astonishment.
"Bitch, I am cute incarnate."
She yelped and covered her mouth while red appeared on her cheeks.
"Big brother told me I shouldn't curse."
I stopped myself from rolling my eyes and started walking back to my cabin.
"What's a Crown of Water?"
She fell in step with me but flying.
"It's like a water elemental. But divine in nature. Basically I command all water in this realm. To put it in even simpler terms, I'm your hydrokinetic powers given form."
Another twirl with the previous fountain show.
My hydrokinetic powers given form? How? For that matter when did this happen?
"Don't think too much about it. You might lose the few brain cells you have left."
"Haha. So funny. Now tell me how is that possible?"
"Beats me...big brother said it's something to do with your demigod essence interacting with all the bountiful energy in the realm."
I stopped. She was probably talking about how Percy's powers integrated with me fully, hence making them my own.
"Does that mean you also possess my shockwave generation and blood control?"
"No on the first and yuck on the second."
She said with a disgusted look on her face. I rose an eyebrow at that.
"I mean...I could control blood if I wanted but... pleasedon'tmakemedoit!"
"I'm not going to make you do anything."
That drew her up short.
"Oh, good. Because I can make you super strong in a fight."
She said proudly.
By now we were near the cabin.
"Well. I have this super awesome killer move called domain expansion."
Huh? That sounded really familiar.
"Domain expansion? What's that?"
She instantly became even more animated. Something I wasn't sure was possible.
"Come come let me show you..."
She got a hold of one of my fingers and dragged me over to the pond.
"It's not as effective as when near a natural source of water."
She replied to my questioning gaze sheepishly.
"Oh. I thought you were the Crown of water or something?"
"I'm still young okay?! Plus I'm still keeping your body safe on the outside you jerk!"
"Hahaha."
I laughed at how easy it was to get her worked up.
"I'm sorry. Could you please show me your super awesome killer move Yuki?"
"Only because you said please."
Ok I had to admit to myself... she's adorable. But I am taking that admittance to eternity or the grave if I ever get tired of immortality. Oh yeah, immortality? I'm getting that shit.
The little Tinker bell like girl cleared her throat imperiously.
"Watch carefully because I am not gonna show it to you again."
Somehow I doubt that. She would definitely do it just to show off. I wisely kept that thought to myself though.
The cosmic water from the pool rose up through Yuki's power. It formed into an Eastern dragon 20 feet long and started to flow around us in a hypnotizing slow dance.
"Wow."
I looked at her in a new light. I could manage basic water constructs easily enough but the detailed construct that was dancing around us in the air was artistic, articulate, patterned and synchronous in a way that was out of my capabilities. The dragon changed course and started to head towards me. I braced for impact but otherwise stayed still. It slammed into me and I hunched backwards involuntary. I could feel pure unadulterated power flow into me. It lacked the spontaneous vibrancy of lightning when I used it for superspeed. This was something else...I could almost feel like I was on the cusp of something big.
I finally tapped onto that realm and opened my eyes. I looked down at myself and gaped. My body glowed an aqua blue. Not unlike when I used cosmic water for a thin skin coating armor. A mirror made of water coalesced before me. The reflection staring back at me was the same face I saw in the mirror every day. I had already gotten used to seeing the pretty face. The difference however was that a tattoo of a blue crown was above my brow.
The aqua blue glow extended out from my body up to 20 meters all around me.
"Whoa."
I felt as if I could control water to a macro scale. Meaning large tsunamis capable of wanton destruction. Toppling cities and sinking islands through using underground aquifers. Basically, my hydrokinesis was massively multiplied in this form. I could also feel that my body was stronger and faster than before. I couldn't gauge just by how much based on the fact that I was stuck in my mind scape though.
I gestured and the water eagerly rose to do my bidding. The effort required was minimal as it complied to fashion itself according to the image in my head. 10 Eastern dragon constructs started to revolve around me, in a slow dance. They started doing complicated maneuvers with barely a strain on my part.
"It's like I upgraded my Percy Jackson card to Poseidon."
"See. I told you I was powerful."
I heard a voice coming from everywhere and looked around for the source. Yuki giggled.
"I'm inside you silly."
'Inside me? How?', I tried to project the thought to her but received no response. Good to know that she can't read my mind.
"You mean the crown mark above my eyebrow?"
"Well...not quite. I've merged with your hydrokinetic abilities. The mark is because I thought it would look good on you."
I chuckled.
"That's breaking a lot of chuuni rules, you know."
"Chuuni rules? What's that?"
I shook my mind.
"Never mind."
A brief silence descended between us as I practiced with my new form to see what else I could do.
"Hey Yuki. I have a question. The cosmic water, what is it composed of?"
"You mean the divine water?"
"Yeah. If that's your name for it. I've had it from the start and even after trying to study it the only conclusions I came to was that it's chock full of dark matter energy."
By this time I had the dragons playing basketball 5 on 5 in the air.
"The divine water is simply the purest form of your hydrokinetic powers influenced by the energy of this realm. I come from it. That is how I came to be."
I nodded in understanding. I wonder if I could build a scanner powerful enough to read the composition of divine energy. It wouldn't be an easy task of course. Magic was known for being finicky when it came to technology. Divine energy wasn't too far off.
"What about the big brother you keep on talking about?"
I inquired and for the first time Yuki grew hesitant.
"I'm not really sure I should tell you."
Oh? Something's fishy here.
"Why not?"
Instantly I felt the power given by Yuki's domain expansion vanish. She appeared in splash of water and didn't meet my gaze.
"Hey what's going on Yuki?"
Her shoulders started shaking while she cried. I was surprised by how things had changed so fast.
"Fine. I won't ask about him again. Just...just stop crying okay?"
I reluctantly patted her. She rounded up on my and hugged my chest fully bawling by now.
"There there..."
I comforted with an awkward look on my face. I was completely out of depth in that situation. Give me some adrenaline fueled activity and I'll hop right on it. Give me a crying Loli and I wouldn't know what to do.
She finally stopped crying and blew her nose on a tissue I conjured for her.
"Big brother...is imprisoned at the deepest part of this realm."
I got a hard look on my face.
"By who?"
For a minute she looked unsure before gaining a steely resolve in her eyes.
"By you."
