Chapter 7 - Peaceful Community

"Tied down!" I couldn't help but yell.

"Quite frankly, I am your mate through it all, no matter what. You're stuck with me…I am yours, and you are mine!" This woman was making me furious by the second. I helped her out and she doesn't even appreciate that. For a mate, she sure was a pain in the ass. But she was beautiful. No matter what came out of her mouth, I still wanted to kiss her till she agreed I was her mate. Holding myself back, I walked away, leaving her alone.

I was stunned at his declaration. But I did not feel that way for him one bit. "No…I am not yours" I looked at him, finding a glimmer of a shattered man. Something was pulling at my heart, making me feel guilty. I was no one's to lay claim to. I will not lay down for anyone. I was an independent woman, and nothing was ever going to change that. Not even a caveman-like him. "My name is Grey" Grey gave me one final look before he walked out, slamming the door. Leaving me standing there on my own.

Three days had passed. I stayed in the room. No one came to see me but Jaimie and the maid. I tried to get Jaimie to take me home, and he wouldn't saying I'm safer here than anywhere else. It was getting frustrating being stuck in this room with no one understanding. I just wanted to go home, and this wasn't my home. I turned my head to the door as I heard it open. "Jaimie?" I asked

"No," In walked Grey in all his glory of an asshole. "Oh," I curled my top lip up in disgust. I heard him huff in response. Then the door slammed closed. Sooner or later, Jaimie walked in. "Anna?" I turned to see him poking his head through. "What, Jaimie?" I didn't bother turning around to face him. I was depressed and over being locked up. "Do you wanna go for a walk?" I perked up at the speculation of getting out of the room. "Do I get to roam free?" Testing the waters, but to no luck, I was disappointed. Nothing new. "No" he said flatly. "But…You'll have me accompany you and no one else" Sounded better than nothing or being locked up in her. "Where will we go?" I asked, hopping out of the bed. "Around" Jaimie just shrugged, not really interested.

It was housed upon houses. There were playgrounds for the kids, homes for the teenagers to game and muck around and have fun. Along with a footy field. Little buildings that had the everyday necessities, like your food and typical grocery store. It was like a community of their own. What surrounded them were tree bushes and everything the wild had. It was like they lived in the middle of nowhere.

Venturing onto the footpath, we walked upon a lake with a little waterfall. It was gorgeous, purely breathtaking. "At night on a full moon is looks even better" I turned to Jaimie, not believing it could be any more beautiful than what it already is. "I want to see it" I am Excited about the possibility of seeing it. "One day, but not right now…And I won't be the one bringing you," Jaimie smirked.

"Why can't you bring me?" What am I chopped liver?

"To us, it's a tradition to bring your mate here on the full moon" My smile vanished second, realizing who I would have to come here with to see the beauty. "Oh," I turned around, heading back to the packhouse.

"Jaimie, why did you befriend me?" Curious about the notion, I asked. "Because my wolf said so" He was oblivious to the shocked look on my face. "What's that mean, though?" Jaimie sighed, getting a little frustrated. "Anna, as much as you have grown on me, I'm going to sounds harsh here. It means that I would never have made contact with you that night at the bar if I didn't have to…But I did because I had to protect you. You were in danger, I don't know what from, but my wolf was adamant about me being beside you all the time. It was protect you to my full extent without my alpha knowing or losing my wolf and mate at the same time….I haven't even found my mate yet, so the whole notion scared the living daylight out of me" I was silent for the rest of the walk home. I was feeling bad that Jaimie was stuck with me. Before he left, I asked him one more question. "What would've happened if you didn't do it?" He turned to face me, not flinching even a little bit. "I would have died a slow and painful death inflicted upon me from Seline herself" He turned and left with that. Leaving me standing there to myself.

Left to my own devices, I sat on the balcony in my thoughts. Jaimie had left me more scared than ever before. What was going to happen now that I knew of this world? And what about that dream I had. Is that what I am? Was I one of them? Was I a monster?

"Heaven's child, you overthink way too much" I stood up straight, searching for the owner of the voice. "Whose there?" No one was there to answer me. "No one darling, it is me, Diana. I was the one in your dream last night" Her voice was light and soft. "How long have you been in my head? And what are you?" I felt like a nervous wreck, along with being a crazy person. "I am your wolf, your other half of you we are one, and I've been here since you were five. I was going to make myself known to you after you turned sixteen…But due to the circumstances, I decided not to and kept you hidden with our power for as long as I could." I know what she was talking about by circumstances.

Even now, I am still haunted. "Anna, my child, you are stronger than what you think to believe in yourself…Even just a little will you get you far" I smiled as Diana tried to console me, warming my heart with her kindness. "Thank you." "Now, did you want to try out your wolf form? I would love to go for a run," I perked up as she sounded excited. "Will hurt if I change?" Worried at the idea of the pain. "No, you won't even notice a thing. Just close your eyes, and ill do the rest.

I closed my eyes, waiting for her next step. "Righto, open your eyes."
