Raven ran quickly towards where the explosion sounded.
He even applied a simple air resistance reduction spell that he created from his experiments to his whole body, forming a spear-shaped energy in front of him.
BOOOOOOM!!
Yet, another explosion was heard.
'Fuck fuck fuck..! What is happening over there?!'
He had an inkling of idea on what caused those explosions. To be precise, he knew who made those.
'But why would Uriel use her insignia here? That insignia was dangerous and it'll also be a problem when those bitches were disturbed because of the commotion.'
In the past year as they explore the edges of this forest, they have sketched a rough map to help them tread around the areas more safely because the forest was infested with so many different types of 'bitches' that they might surrender their life anytime of the day if they angered one; and Uriel's insignia might very well cost them that due to its disastrous properties.
Raven arrived at the lake's location, and was shocked speechless at what he had saw.
Two corpses were present and black flames were still burning on them; both were men.
One was lying on the ground, still burning from head to toe you can't even describe his facial features. And the other one, well.. the other one crashed through a wall of rocks that was naturally formed around the lake, missing the upper part of his body from head, down to his abdominal region.
"What the hell..."
Raven absentmindedly muttered as he observed the conditions of the two.
This is his first encounter of the people from this world, and sadly... he didn't even have the chance to say 'hi'.
At that moment, another explosion occurred nearby. Raven almost felt the heat from that one but nevertheless, he hurriedly ran towards it.
*****
Reaching the area, a battle was currently happening.
Three people were currently fighting a floating figure of a child clad in black wisps of flame.
That child was Uriel, Raven recognized her straight away because of her hair and that particular power of her.
He witnessed that power several months ago when they were attacked by a swarm of oversized bees.
Uriel unknowingly summoned her insignia maybe because of their situation back then and her desire to protect her brother.
That was also Raven's first time witnessing the power of spirit insignias. The scale was clearly above compared to formulated spells.
The power behind those flames were incredibly destructive, it can probably shoot through a 15cm-thick metal plate instantly. Also one of its property was to burn endlessly. Unless the energy within the flame was spent, it won't stop devouring things.
Back then, the 'bitch bees' were pulverized by its power. Even the surroundings were burnt to oblivion.
But of course, such power was by no means free of restraint.
That incredible firepower also requires incredible amount of internal energy, absolutely not a normal thing for a two year old kid to cast simultaneously.
Also, through their experiments, long exposure with the flame made Uriel go in a state of berserk; being immensely lethal in a fight since she won't be able to identify between allies and enemies.
Heck! Even Raven was scared of it back then when it happened!
Since then, Raven emphasized it to her, to not use the power until she was in a life-threatening situation.
But now, he is witnessing the glory of her insignia again.
Floating like a proud empress that stands above all, Uriel pushed back the group of three from time to time even though she was alone, but it wasn't that she's winning either. She was injured somewhere along her shoulders since blood was leaking from there.
Good thing was, she wasn't in a berserk state yet.
'Probably two more minutes.'
Raven judged the situation of Uriel as he began to plan out his attack.
'This dumbfucks were clearly underestimating Uriel, passively waiting for her to run out of gas, before starting their siege. What useless fuckers.'
He berated them through his mind as he instantly saw through their plan.
'This is the best time to interfere. That girl on the backline was obviously someone that can't fight closely so she'll be a good start to chain my attacks.'
Raven licked his lips, looking forward to fight the so called 'arcanists' of this world.
'You fuckers dare touch my Uriel!'
Murderous intent oozed out from his every being, completely different from that calm and steady youth from before.
This'll be his first fight with them and instead of nervousness, excitement was written on his face as he stalked the group from their back silently.
Although excited, he was still able to remain very calm. For normal people, it was very hard to control the emotions and thoughts from bursting out whenever they're doing something or even when simply talking to someone.
But Raven was far from being normal, he was the allegedly number one assassin back on Earth!
His craft was the best be it planning, fighting, stalking, disguising etc.
These types of stuff was his domain!
Sneaking stealthily, he was now only over eight meters away from his target; the woman behind the group.
Eyes as placid as a tranquil lake, coldly observing the battle like a viper waiting for an opportunity to strike its prey.
*****
The battle was on full swing and Uriel was inwardly panicking from the way this fight turned out.
She was panting heavily as fatigue was now beginning to creep up into her. Black veins are now beginning to bulge around her body, indicating that she doesn't have that much time left before she turn into a mindless monster.
'It's alright, I should keep calm at situations like these. Brother told me that calmness and confidence were the most sharp weapons anyone can possess so, I must keep calm and thin-'
Then what she saw shocked her silly, but it was instantly replaced by relief though. She then controlled her emotions to cover up what she just saw and thought of a plan.
What she saw, was her brother making signs for her from a branch while inching behind the group of three.
They've been through numerous fights together to survive in the forest from the past year, and obviously, it created an undeniable chemistry when they're coordinating with an attack.
And because of that, Uriel perfectly understood what those signs meant.
It was amazing to think that Uriel was barely two years of age yet she fights like a professional already (well, sometimes).
She then decided her next course of attack.
Uriel deliberately floated down by a large margin to feign weakness and give the impression that she was starting to run low on energy.
She picked this strategy up earlier when the bitch bunny had done it to her. Feigning weakness to land a decisive blow.
The only difference was, she won't be dealing that final blow. She only want to create an opening through it.
Uriel also faked coughing up blood and acted like she was now down on her last attack, focusing all her energy on her hand to conjure a fireball.
And as what Raven said earlier, these 'dumbfucks' fell for it.
Who can blame them, they won't be thinking that a three-year old kid has an accomplice somewhere and was planning like a sly, old fox right?
They were loudly talking to each other but, Uriel can't understand any of it. Although judging from their expressions, relief was evident in their face as they prepare to receive Uriel's last desperate struggle.
*****
'Good, Uriel probably noticed me by now. I only need to match her timing to clean this mess up.'
Raven was crouching from a branch above, holding a knife with his mouth, also aiming his slingshot at the guy on the front left of the group.
He was now only waiting for Uriel's attack to materialize. When...
FWOOOOM!
'Now!'
He sprang up from the branch like a wild monkey as Uriel released a huge black fireball towards the guy on her left.
