I don't have time to tell Ian that Valerie wasn't in her room that Meredith positions herself between me and my friend, pleading with me with a pair of tender dark eyes, even though they're so lucid I can bet she won't even remember her name tomorrow.
"Let's dance!" - she throws her hands around my neck, bringing her head on my shoulder in a quick gesture and starting to move her hips to the rhythm of the music, but my friend quickly grabs her arm to force her to get away from my body.
"Don't overdo it, Meredith." - he scolds her as soon as she crosses her arms over her chest, but instead of glaring at Ian, I mentally thank him for pushing her away, while my friend takes a step forward to bring his attention back on me.
