Chapter 17 - Legend of The Blood Fairy

Roger felt a strange exhilaration as he sliced his artery. Instead of pain, he watched in grim fascination as his lifeblood poured out. However, unbeknownst to him, his blood flowed directly into a teleportation circle. As his consciousness waned, his magical powers drained along with his blood. Roger, though near death, suddenly felt a mysterious surge of energy from the land of Sunaru. With newfound strength, he impulsively leaped into the teleportation circle. Overwhelmed by the magic around him, he could only keep his eyes closed. It felt like he was soaring through the air before finally succumbing to unconsciousness.

**15 years ago:** Little Minxy lay in her bed, eagerly awaiting her grandmother's stories. But the tale she adored most was the legend of the Blood Fairy. Minxy's fascination with blood fairies had started when she was just two or three years old. Over the years, she grew almost obsessed.

"Come on, Minxy, let's put you to bed," Grandma coaxed. "Otherwise, no stories tonight."

"Just two more minutes!" Minxy replied, bouncing joyfully on her bed. Once tucked in, her grandmother began recounting a particularly entrancing version of the Blood Fairy's tale.

"Long ago, a girl of unparalleled beauty was born. Her raven-black hair, rosy complexion, and unique eyes drew admirers from all corners. As she matured, her beauty and fame only intensified. But with such allure came a shadow, for every blessing has its curse. By the time she turned 18, a dark fate befell her, a curse no one could have imagined."

Her grandmother spoke of a pact with the God of Curse. Prior to the girl's birth, the family had only seen male offspring. A desperate plea was made to the God for a female heir, but it came at a steep price: the girl would bear the "Blood Fairy Curse," activating when she turned 18. The legend of the Blood Fairy emerged, with whispers of the curse traveling far and wide.

Grandma elaborated, "The original curse only affected those closest to the cursed, but in Minxy's case, it touched everyone around her."

Grandma went on to reveal that the curse was to continue from generation to generation but would end with Minxy, as there were no daughters to pass it on to. What the family didn't know was that the God of Curse's time differed from earthly time: a God's month was a thousand years on Earth.

But a shocking truth was unveiled: Minxy's grandmother, in her youth, took cruel measures to ensure no female heirs were born. Her actions resulted in a twisted turn of fate. Now, the curse had evolved, and its range expanded.

Previously, magic permeated the Earth, with werewolves, vampires, hybrids, fairies, and witches coexisting. But the original Blood Fairy Curse suppressed the magical genes, causing everyone to forget the existence of magic for 12,000 years.

Now, with the curse altered, what would become of a world suddenly reintroduced to the magical beings of old?
