Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

I lounged by the pool with the rest of the girls at the hotel in Vegas, sipping on our fruity drinks. After the whirlwind of the last month, we needed this break. Well, it was still work, we did have an award show to do tonight, but that was it. And we could chill for the rest of the week, which is why I made sure to extend our stay.

"Oh, you never did tell us about Mike." I looked up at Ashley over the rim of my drink and shrugged.

"He finally got the memo to leave me alone, not sure if that was because his wife got a call from someone saying he was cheating or not. As far as the contract, Kris realized the date on it, with everything going on, and them being some of our first clients, we never did an electronic contract to remind us of dates expiring. So, since theirs was up, I just chose not to renew.

"I did tell the rest of the guys I would be there if they went solo. And it seems like everyone told him the same thing, to leave me alone. Guess he liked having it all."

"What a loser." I looked at Alexa and nodded.

"I know, I don't need the 'I told you so' tossed in my face, okay? It's rude."

"And no word from Howie?" I looked down at my phone before looking back up Alexa, shaking my head.

"Even after I set him right, he still hasn't spoken to me; though he looked shocked as all get out. I just don't know if he felt like he destroyed everything, you know."

"Well, let him be the dumb ass, our Resa can do better." I smiled my thanks at Kris but I felt like Howie was better, sadly. Even after these months, I couldn't shake him out of my head. Didn't help that I kept looking at our photos either. It was fucking hard because both of us looked so happy and then it was gone, just pulled away like nothing happened. Mentally, I sighed, waging the never ending battle in my mind. I wanted to break down and call Howie, but this was his mistake that he needed to own up too.

"Shall we go get ready ladies?" Kris asked standing up, with all of us following suit.

He sat on his bed in the hotel room in Vegas as he thought about his actions over the last two months. Along with the words flung his way from her; and God, that look. He would give up everything if he could rewind time back to the last day on the boat and speak his fucking mind. But he took the easy road and look what it cost him. And he should have known better that day in the airport, but, thanks to his jaded vision on women, he lost the one that had meant the most to him.

And he had lost the countless time he wanted to pick up the phone to text her, but time would slip away from him. In fact, the day he had stopped by, he was going to talk to her about some new artists that he was working with that could have used her skills; but he saw Mike standing there and he just stopped thinking. God, he had never wanted to punch someone so much, and then everything came to his mind about what he had learned from Theresa and he was disgusted with this man and he knew he wouldn't risk anything for him.

He sighed and ran his hands over his face, shaking his head at himself. Utter fool was the best way to describe him. But he was taking a break and had every intention of reaching out. He was having a hell of a time without her and if the truth be told, his reaction to that fucking kiss should let him know his feelings. He couldn't be that weak man, time to forget the past and move on. And spend forever apologizing for how stupid he was; she deserved it.

He grabbed his suit jacket and went down to the lobby as the limo was there to take him to the award show. He wanted this done so he could get back home and try calling. After all, the odds of her being in Vegas were slim, especially since she herself said she didn't go to many award shows.

Ten minutes later, he got out of the limo and walked down the red carpet, stopping so the media could snap a few pictures and then walked further back, but quickly stopped as he saw a group of girls. One stood out amongst all the rest, the tattoos on her back bringing back so many vivid and delicious memories. What were the fucking chances she would be here? And what better spot.

He took out his phone and sent her a quick message, saying he would see her inside. He waited, saw her grab the phone and look around, her eyes finally landing on him. Anyone could see the quick intake of her breath and he pointed inside. She nodded, turned back to the ladies and followed him in. Talk about thinking on the fly and trusting his gut. When he saw her, he smiled and took her hand, leading her to a quiet spot, well hidden from many eyes.

"Howie?"

"Theresa, I owe you the fucking biggest apology. I let my eyes deceive me; I know, deep down, that you weren't like that. But, with everything, it was just hard to convince my mind. And I have picked up my phone so many times to call you or even text you, but…"

"Howie," I stopped him and he gazed into my eyes. God, much like the first time, those chocolate eyes of his captivated me.

"What?"

"Are you going to talk or are you going to kiss me?" He needed nothing else and soon lips were connected and arms were embracing. Dumb as it may sound, it had been too long for us and what we needed was the connection again with each other. Tongues were mixing and soon hands started groping. Howie's lips finally broke away and started kissing along my neck and the haze of wanting him clouded my vision and nothing else mattered. But, I did need to know one thing before I finally gave in.

"Howie?"

"Hmm?" he moaned against my neck.

"Stacy, did you..."

"No, you were my last one and I only want you," he interrupted. I quickly undid his pants and his hands lifted up the skirt to my dress, bunching it around my hips. I captured his lips again as he lifted me up and moved my panties aside, his hard dick quickly sliding inside. I dug my nails into his shoulders, fighting the urge to cry out. He pumped into me, my back moving against the wall. Lord, did he feel amazing, like he really was some part of me, a part that had been missing. And I knew it was foolish, but once I saw the look in his eyes and he started talking, I forgave; or at least started to. I had every intention of making him work for the rest of the forgiveness.

"God, babe, I could not..."

"Stop, Howie," I whispered as he kept pumping into me. He shifted a little and my eyes flew open as he found a very sensitive spot.

"Fuck almighty, you just got more wet. Did I find a trigger spot?" I latched onto his neck, sucking hard so I couldn't cry out as he kept hitting that spot. He grunted in my ears and I finally let go, moaning into his ear as I came hard around him. The feeling of ecstasy surrounded him and he followed after, his arms still around me as he let me down. I rested my head on his chest as he rubbed my back; God, I never wanted to leave these arms again. "You were right."

I finally looked up at him and then at the girls as they walked up to us. Did I mention they found me the first time I messed around at a show? "Right about what?"

"Public places." He grinned as me and I smiled right back.

"What about those public places? How did this all come about in fact?" Howie took my hand as we both turned and faced Alexa. He winked at me and I blushed. Her question could mean anything but Howie was taking it only one, with one answer, meaning where had we talked about it to make us want to do it in public.

"It happened on the cruise."
