I woke up without Yana by my side.
Kira and Tessa were still asleep so I decided not to get up right away, especially that I had a strange dream last night. In my dream, Yana was holding my hand as we slept, and that was all I could remember.
I knew it was something that I wouldn’t forget. And I knew it wouldn’t do me good to keep on thinking about something that wasn’t real, and yet I still held on to it. Wishing it was.
I slapped my face with both hands; just enough to bring me back to reality.
I’m in Yana’s house, I told myself. I’m with my friends, to have a good time.
And I have to make the most of it.
I got up, thinking they were probably making breakfast already. I had to help out at least.
I was only a few steps down and I could already hear Yana’s call for help. She seemed to be dismayed about something.
