I jumped down the opening of the ground. Smoke flew away as soon as I landed.
It was dark and silent, it made me rethink my decision, is this really the Cellar of lost mages?
I frowned; this has to be it, considering that it is well hidden.
I walked forward, darkness surrounded me. I was a bit surprised why there were still no guards to come catch me right now.
Suddenly, I heard a flick and the lamps turned on.
I furrowed my eyebrows and saw a man, a tall luxurious clothed man. It is Matthew Holmes.
"What is your business here, fellow adventurer?" He tilted his head. "Are you looking for someone, perhaps?"
I nodded and he smiled. "These guys…" he stepped towards the side and showed me a room.
"Are these guys your friends?" He eerily smiled, and I looked at where he was pointing.
Frisk and Scarlet was there, with broken legs and open wounds.
Their faces were slashed, wounds were seen, and burns were there.
How can they be easily tortured?
Suddenly, Matthew laughed. "Seriously, you have me tearing up. You must be thinking how on earth I manage to tie up these strong mages."
"Poison."
I jolted, poison?! That mere object can easily defeat a mage?
"But, it's not just any poison though, mixed with all sorts of acids, radithor, and blah blah blah. It's making them weak. And those hands of theirs, it was burned, severely burned, making them hard to cast a spell." Matthew explained everything like how a child would boast.
"Well, I already gave you my secret methods, I'm afraid I can't let you go." He smiled
Guards started to march towards me, on the back and up front.
"New sorts of technologies can finally defeat arrogant mages. You guys are no longer used in this world."
"You—!"
The guards held me tight. The iron armor, I didn't know why, but it's burning me.
I had enough.
(Come out, Shadow.)
Shadows sprout out of my skin, scattered and defending me.
I took out my dagger. "Do you think, you can defeat a ruler?"
I dashed towards Matthew with my dagger all ready, the shadows became my armor and my weapon.
I slashed him, aiming for his face but a guard pushed him away and my dagger screeched as it made contact with the armor.
"Disappear."
I casted a spell on my hand, fire, I punched it down the ground, the walls cracked and exploded.
Again, I ran towards Matthew, at throttling speed, I raised my arms and pierced my dagger through his shoulder and out his armpit.
Blood squirted out from his body. I jumped backwards and flicked my dagger, cleaning it because of the blood.
"AAAAAGHHH!—"
Matthew knelt down and wailed like a baby.
I quickly gouged out the guards' eyes. Blood dripped out from their armor.
I continuously punched the armor, again and again and again. The iron was severely dented, whoever is wearing inside would die because of immense pain.
"Hey." I walked towards Matthew
"Brag like how you did before." I gripped his hair.
"Hah. Kill me or you won't get to know anything about Adam." Hearing those words, I hesitated for a moment and eventually stopped.
"Haha, that's right." Matthew huffed like he had run in a marathon.
"So, what's your information?" I cleaned the dagger with his expensive silk cloth.
"I met him a few years back, I was still a student in a university, focusing on politics. That's where I met him, he was distinguished, tall man, and charismatic. I didn't know back then that he was murderer." He looked down to see blood crippling on his body from his shoulder.
"Is that all of it?" I asked, not satisfied by this information.
"One more thing."
I furrowed my brows.
"He, claims to be sent from the [Singularity], sent by a deity of some sort, to be specific" Matthew panted.
I stood there, analyzing the information I just got.
(Really? He was sent by a deity? And to add the information about the presence of [Singularity]. Is he an extraterrestrial?)
"Apparently, he might be not. His way of thinking and body stats are just equal to us humans, he may be from another universe but, he still has the race as 'human'." Matthew slowly stood up but eventually staggered.
I got the feeling that he just read my thoughts but I shrugged it off.
"What makes your judgment believable when you are just a political snake." I frowned at him and he smiled, bitterly.
"Young child, to rule the people means to lure them into deep manipulation. That's what politics is." Matthew mumbled.
"…" I didn't say anything.
"I get it. I'll set your friends away." He raised his hands, towards the iron bars and maybe unleashed some spell.
I looked at him and walked towards the cell.
I the iron bars were melted down, allowing me to enter the cell were Frisk and Scarlet were being held.
I looked at them, with a pitiful expression. Severe wounds were there, and broken bones. I can heal them using a spell but, that would take a toll on me.
I frowned and eventually raised my arms towards both of them. Casting a healing spell, to cure them both. A strong aura whirled around the cell, I could see their bones and flesh being sewn back by the spell.
For what seemed like an eternity, my arms eventually ached, and blood started to drip down from my nose. I couldn't continue much further. I then release the spell, the wind whirling inside the cell flew back at me, hurdling me towards the stone walls.
I coughed blood when my back hit the stones. But, it might've worked.
I slowly stood up and walked up to Frisk and Scarlet, to my surprise, I had fully cured them both, their broken bones and wounds were no longer seen, indicating that I have cured them.
I sighed out of relief. Thank God I didn't cough blood by just having them still on a broken leg.
I glanced back at Matthew, seeing him grinning like an idiot. He's still alive.
I carried both Frisk and Scarlet outside the cellar. As soon as I walked just by the entrance of the cellar, Matthew said something.
"One day, you might regret all the things you have done. And it will cost you everything." Matthew grinned, wider than before.
I furrowed my brows, only to see him with his hand on fire.
(A fire spell!!!--)
I quickly ran out of the cellar. Up to the city square and into the forest, I have run faster while holding two people.
I looked back at the city square.
It had blown up. The bricks, the roads, the woods, the stones, everything. It was blown to pieces, flying out in the air by the explosion the spell has done.
