[Hey, guess who is back. This guy! Well... at least I hope so. Anyways, I'm done with the first couple of reworked chapters so I decided to publish them. One will be right now, the other on Friday at 10 PM EST.
I'd also like to announce that I will not be mainly posting this story here on webnovel. I am going to focus on posting it on Royal Roads. I'll still post it here, but there may be delays and I won't be as quick with responses on webnovel.]

[Hey all. So I am announcing that I will be pausing this story for now. I WILL come back to it. In fact I'm writing a new chapter right now. But I won't be publishing anything until I made the first volume. This first volume will be a full rewrite of the story. It will still be the same story, just written and thought out better. The reason I'm doing this is that I don't want to just come up with the story on the fly while I speed write chapter after chapter. That just leads to inconsistency and badly thought up stories. I have already been running into this as I write more chapters. Often times I try to go back and change some details of the previous chapters in the hopes of adjusting the direction of the story, but this is not good.
In short, I want to be able to think ahead in detail and write a good story. Pretty much like a light novel.
Q&A:
When to expect new chapters?
--I'm just going to say in 5 months. This is not a set date but just and random number I said. I don't know when it will be ready, I still have a lot to learn from the creative writing class that I am currently in.

[So, I'm trying to speed-run packing and cleaning my dorm atm. But once I get on the plane, I got 2 hours to work on new chapters. But I just want to say, fuck the booster shot! That shit sucked, I was literally on my bed for like 34 hours just dieing from nausea, fatigue, body aches, weakness, and fever. It was not fun... but I guess it was worth it. Hopefully I won't get sick from my flight though; it takes like 2 weeks for the booster shot to take effect.]

[Hey everyone, no chapters until maybe the weekend, idk. I finished my finals and now I just got my COVID booster shot, but I feel like shit (I got it all: fever, body aches, fatigue) . Plus I still gotta do a bunch of other things to prepare for my flight. So no chapters until late this week possibly early next week. ]

[Hello all. Sorry it's been a while. A lot has been going on in school and also outside of school. I haven't had much time to write the next chapter for the novel. Also at the moment I have a bad case of writers block. Do not worry, I have not dropped the story.
Also, I would like to say thank you for still voting for the novel despite the lack of updates. I really appreciate! Once I find some free time from school and real life stuff, I will sit down and try to force away my writers block. In the meantime, just stay tuned for the next chapter.]

[Time for another announcement!
So when I first started writing this story, I thought a lot about the novel. I had thought a lot about the world background so why is their mana, how did the world turn out like this, stuff like that. I had also planned what the ending of the novel looked like and some major events that would happen in the story. But I didn't really have a solid idea of how to get from point A to point B. I didn't really know where to take the story, and I didn't know what story I wanted to tell for the first volume.
So I decided to just write and see where it takes me. This was kinda a mistake, I think, and now that I do have an idea of how to drive the story to where I want it to go, there are some inconsistencies. Such as how foxes communicate with humans in the story and that Nike does not have telepathy. So I am going through each chapter and fixing them up.
Just know, if you find any inconsistency in the story, please let me know. For those of you who have already read the first couple of chapters and do not feel like re-reading them, just run off of what the latest chapter says.
In addition, I didn't really think to much about punctuation at the start of the novel and was just kinda improvising as I wrote. I recently realized this was a bad idea because I wanted to use punctuation marks, but I didn't have enough of them. So I decided to also go through all the chapters and correct my punctuation as well.
Finally, the perspective. I was originally planning to do first person, but mid-way in writing the story, I changed my mind and decided to write in the third person. I just felt like I could write a better story in the third person.
So anyway, I'm currently trying to fix all these issues with the previous chapters. I do not plan on changing anything going forward. I just wanted to change a few mistakes I made on the first chapters I wrote before the novel grew bigger. I will post another update here letting you all know when I'm done editing the previous chapters so you could go back and have a read if you want.
I'm sorry for all these mistakes with writing. I am not that good at creative writing, but I'm slowly learning. I hope you have a good rest of your day!]

[After some time pondering, I decided to make a change that I believe to be beneficial to the novel. I would like to announce the name change of the novel!
The old title "The Age Of Magic And Mythical Beasts" was a bit to long and I felt like it didn't do the best job conveying what the story is about while sounding interesting. So I decided to change the title to "The Ascension Of A Fox." I'm sorry for suddenly changing the title, but I wanted to do it grew more. I hope you all like the new name. [Hello again! While procrastinating for my classes, I wrote a little bit of extra content for the next chapter. It's looking like it will be near 3k words, so think of it as two chapters in one. There will be a trigger warning in the chapter, but this is only for a particular part. I'll note that part down at the top of the chapter and when it's about to happen. I'll also say where to skip to avoid it.]

[Hope yall have been having a wonderful week. I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while. I usually try to do at least 1 chapter a week. However, I've had to focus on school a little bit. I got super behind in my classes because my class schedule was messed up, and I had to join some courses 2-3 weeks late.
Anyways, the next chapter is mostly finished; however, some big things for the story will be happening in this chapter, so I'm spending a bit of extra time researching and trying to decide on where the story goes. I hope to base most of the fantasy on laws I create for the world and real-life science. In short, I'm hoping to make it very realistic. But this takes time.
Now time for the part you may care about the most; when will the next chapter come out? Well... give it until this weekend; if not, then maybe the next. I have a few big things coming up in my classes soon, so expect long waits between chapters. Anyways, hang tight for the next chapter. I have NOT dropped this novel (nor do I have any plans on dropping it); I'm just taking my sweet butt time on releasing chapters.]
