Walking with a mysterious woman I have just met, I've set foot in a village far ahead of us as we needed shelter from the unknown world we've... or rather I have been put into.
now you might be wondering how did I end up like this or why I'm here, well long story short I've died a second time and reincarnated a second time in a world without magic or minerals to invent with.
(10 Hours Before...)
"Is the village up ahead yet?" I said with a deep sigh walking endlessly.
"It's not that far and you only walked some miles, is this that much for you?" the mysterious woman said with a somewhat irritated expression.
"I'm sorry for what I said if it offended you." I deeply apologized because the look on her face made me feel guilty.
"My my, what a sweetie, then I'll accept your apology." the mysterious woman laughed while looking back on me from time to time.
(Some hours later...)
"Master we're almost there!" the mysterious woman shouted.
"I don't even mind if you call me that anymore, I'm so tired that I could pass out at any given moment." I said with a gloomy look on my face.
but it was a ten-hour walk, even I can't handle walking for that long and I had to use a horse in my previous world because I didn't like exercising but then...
"We've finally made it Master." said the mysterious woman having her arm point to the almost deserted village.
after the long walk I got a good look at the village I was inspecting and I came to a conclusion that, well it was a very rundown place and there are not that many humans here and that people used simpler devices that weren't much of help.
"So... this is a village?" I said in an unamusing demeanor.
"That is certainly correct Master." The mysterious woman smiled at me as she said positively.
what a predicament and here I thought maybe there was a little hope for the village to have some valuable materials, guess I was expecting too much.
"Great..." I said while groaning.
"Yes Master it is great." the mysterious woman said while still keeping a bright smile.
"I was being sarcastic..." I said.
on days like these I wonder why in the first place I was reincarnated again, are there any consequences for being alive a second time? I've wondered to myself at times.
"There are very few people." I thought in my head which I accidentally blurted out.
"Yes there are quite a few, and you should at least have an enthusiastic personality since people in this village don't like those who are down." the mysterious woman whispered in my ears while we walk around the village.
"So like do they execute you for being down in the dumps?" I questioned with a slightly concerned look.
in which the woman responded, "Not at all, however... they will persistently rile you up and make you feel better no matter how many times they fail, and the people here take no for an answer if that answers your question."
"That's tough, wonder how long I'll be positive for before I lose it." I said with a frowning look on my face.
I put my act on and went ahead with the flow, trying my best not to feel the way I do while strolling around with the mysterious woman.
"Master we're here." the mysterious woman said.
"This is your house?" I said gulping down my saliva.
"Yes Master." the mysterious woman said as she opened the door.
well for a house it certainly looked kind of horrendous but not too hideous where you would simply walk away and not live in it, and at that matter, it looked more like a shack that was a size of a big house which I found interesting.
walking in, I can see that this was no ordinary house and that I became dumbfounded when I saw that the walls had paint all over them that other residents seem to not have, of course from what I saw while walking around the village.
"Woah..." I thought to myself.
She smiled and said, "Dumbfounded are we?"
"How did you read my mind?" I said in shock.
"It's written all over your face Master~" the mysterious woman chuckled.
having heard her talk to me like that, I thought that the woman was amusing herself to see my reactions, either way, it seemed suspicious.
and I thought to myself, "let's hope she's a good person by heart, I'll keep my eyes on her to see for myself and if she tries anything funny... I'll see what I can do..." and continued observing.
"This is quite a nice house actually, not too shabby on the inside but the outside... could use some work if I could do something about it." I said to the mysterious woman while ignoring what I thought before.
"Do not even think about it." the mysterious woman said glaring daggers at me.
"I wouldn't dare without your permission of course." I said with a tired expression as it was midnight.
It seems as though this house was different as I was walking around looking if there was anything I could use.
when I saw the fan where I was standing I thought it looked like an invention from my world, I asked the mysterious woman about it because it piqued my interest somewhat.
"The fan feels nice, did you install this? how did you get your hands on it?" I asked her.
"That's a secret Master." the mysterious woman answered with a smile, telling me nothing about how she actually did.
though certainly it's astonishing and all, however, I'm confused about the whole possibility of how she got all of these electronics and made the inside of the house look nice in the first place, since not only does she have finely painted walls and a ventilation system but also furniture and a few devices that are too similar to my original world.
"Seems like I would need to wait until she trusts me enough so she'll tell me what's going on." I thought.
"Master, do please make yourself at home, I'll prepare some tea for you!" the woman happily said while using the kettle to pour some water in a cup.
"Alright, although I'm not certain how I should act around you... since this is entirely shocking for the most part." sitting down half tired waiting for her to give me brewed tea.
"Don't worry you'll be fine along the way, I'll make sure of it Master!" The mysterious woman said enthusiastically while still brewing some tea.
I blushed a tiny bit after seeing her beautiful smile thinking I wished I'd met her in my previous life, but it's too late for that now due to the fact I had to start a life without magic nor use any devices because this world had absolutely nothing that could be useful as of the moment.
"Guess I'll have to live with what I got." I said and let out a small smile, waiting for the next day to come while sipping the tea the woman handed to me as she sat beside me and drank as well before heading off to sleep.
