They lied.
Blood. Sickening blood everywhere. All I could see is blood. All I could hear are screams. Screams of the innocent people who are getting killed one by one. They don't even have time to protect and defend themselves.
"Pray for Ares!" Father shouted.
"WE ARE GETTING KILLED, ASMILAN!" Mother shouted back.
She came to me, hug me and held my face. She gave me a blanket to wrap myself up.
She turned down her head to stare down at me, red panicked tear-stained face. She locked her eyes at me. I can feel her hands shaking, her lips trembling as she whispered softly. "Go hide, my love. Run. Run and never look back." Crying, she held my hand and kissed it.
"Why, mother? What is going on? Aren't the Gods supposed to defend us?" I asked her tearfully. I don't want to leave her. I don't want her to be here. I don't want to leave alone.
Emotions are starting to stir inside me. I am hurt, and sad and angry. I wanted to throw rage at the once beloved skies that we used to worship at. I despise looking at it.
She shook her head while tears streaming down her face like a river. Her bright sun shone face who were known to give happiness were now as dim as the night. As black as the skies are in right now.
"No, my love. They are here. Yes, they are here. Not to protect us. " she placed a finger to hush me.
"-But they are looking for someone else. They will kill every child here. Listen to me Eos. Go, leave. Seek shelter and find the old woman who lives in the sixth mountain of the North and say
"Ego sum Eos. In prophetavit puer. She'll let you in."
She caressed my cheek and kissed it.
"Mother-" I held her face for the last time. I kissed her cheeks for the last time. She gave me a necklace that holds some glittering water inside.
"The door won't hold in! Go Eos!" Father shouted as he pushes the door back. Mother pushed me into the secret entrance of an underground tunnel.
"Follow the path. It'll lead you to a forest. Go follow the moon and a wolf shall see you. She'll guide you Eos. Goodbye, my sweet dawn." Tears rolling down her eyes.
"cura, luna mea."
I ran as far as I could. All I could hear are mumbles, more like shouts from the upper ground. I heard crashes and then-
I heard her.
Mother.
Mother's screams.
A loud earthquake made my knees tremble, making me unable to run. I can't hold it anymore. I cried helplessly. Please, stop.
Please, stop already.
I heard the ground door opened. My heart starts to beat so fast, it could escape from my chest. And so, I got up and ran. I began to see the near end of the path and a bright light from the distance .
"Follow the moon". I remembered what Mother said.
"Find the wolf".
"She'll guide you".
I walked away from the town. From my town. From my homeland. As I glance back, I saw someone glittering. I stopped and just looked at it. It transformed into small shining particles that's making its way back to the skies. Fires starting to eat my home. It's starting to swallow my land. My people are screaming in agony.
"HELLLPPPP UUUUUUUUS!!!"
"WHERE'S MY CHILD???!"
"STOP KILLING US, PLEASE!!"
"AREEEES!! MY LORD, STOP!! THAT'S MY CHILD!!"
What is wrong with the children in our town?
The once known for being the 'Land of Roses' now being swallowed by seas and tounges of fires. I began to makeshift a man, with a bloody drenched sword looking back and forth. He screamed and I felt like my body shivered upon hearing his voice. There's this sudden attack that made my heart pounce and I dropped onto the ground. I saw him mercilessly beheaded a child.
"WHERE ARE YOU? DAUGHTER OF THE MOON!! WHERE ARE YOU?!"
And I ran. I ran as fast as I can. I can't take it anymore. Daughter of the moon? What does he mean? He cold-bloodedly killed all of our children because of some DAUGHTER OF THE MOON?
MY FATHER WORSHIPPED HIM. MY FATHER PRAYED TO HIM AND I BET HE DID KILLED HIM TOO. THAT SON OF A FREAKING GOD WHO DON'T EVEN CAME DOWN TO PROTECT HIS INNOCENT CITIZENS, I LOATHE YOU BOTH.
I am Eos Prydwen, daughter of the King and Queen of the Land of Roses, I will be back and claim my throne.
"Follow the moon, my child." a sweet soothing familiar womanly voice had spoken from above.
